Chapter 254: We're safe, for the time being
We're safe, for now
"We're safe, for now."
The corpses on the street were reflected in Magneto's eyes, and he said in a deep voice, while raising a hand to unleash his power again, dragging all kinds of metal objects to kill those zombies completely.
With this skill, he was confident that he could survive the apocalypse, but it was definitely not a good idea to stay in the city right now.
"We should get out of here as soon as possible, I can hardly imagine what is happening in my hometown, I don't know if my sister will be able to protect my people from this terrible virus"
As he spoke, T'Challa, who had lost a leg, walked with Magneto on crutches over the various corpses on the ground, in a ruined street.
They try to keep their movements as low as possible so that they don't get noticed by the zombie heroes.
What just hit was just some zombies made of ordinary citizens who were infected, and if they could be ruthless, they could hardly threaten these two superpowers, even if the panther had broken a leg.
It's a creepy street, with shops and houses on both sides of the street that have been destroyed, broken windows and walls full of cracks. The air is filled with dust and a foul smell that makes people feel suffocated.
Mutants walked cautiously, and they made their way through the ruins to a slightly cleaner street, where there was no trace of blood or battle on the ground.
Magneto scanned his surroundings warily, his gaze full of alertness, and he kept an eye on his feet as he walked, avoiding stepping on the broken glass and masonry while listening to the movement around him.
T'Challa was also in good spirits, and he followed closely behind Magneto, carefully walking on crutches.
Even after losing a leg, his supernatural powers as a panther remained, and he used his ears to listen to the movements around him, and the slightest unusual noise could cause him to react.
It's been a good journey, and it's been a smooth ride. However, they know that this apocalyptic scene is full of danger and must be vigilant at all times to ensure their safety.
Eventually, they walked out of the ruins and into a more open area. It's a wide avenue, and although it has been damaged to varying degrees, it's relatively better. T'Challa and Magneto breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that there would be no zombie roars and attacks here, and that it would be relatively safe.
Magneto slowed down, and he carefully observed his surroundings. He found that there were no other zombies here, and it seemed that they had not tracked them here. He breathed a sigh of relief and patted T'Challa on the shoulder as a sign of comfort.
T'Challa glanced at Magneto gratefully, "Thank you, if it weren't for your timely arrival"
Magneto shook his head and blocked back the words of thanks from the one-legged man in front of him, "The most important thing now is to get out of this city. ”
"It's imperative that we find a safe place to shelter for a while and then make plans."
T'Challa nodded silently, he really wanted to go back to Wakanda and see if his people survived, but now was clearly not the time to do so.
He had to survive before he could decide what he was going to do next.
The two continued on their way, winding the streets, looking for a way to safety while trying to avoid zombies and other dangers. In this post-apocalyptic world, survival becomes more difficult, but they do not give up hope of finding survival.
They came to an abandoned train station, which was badly damaged, but the platform and tracks were still intact. After observing it, Magneto decided to take T'Challa through the station from the tracks so that he could avoid zombies and other dangers.
They walked cautiously on the railroad tracks, and although there were some bumps, they finally encountered no obstacles. Gradually, they find a path that leads to the edge of the city, which makes their escape clear.
Follow the path all the way, constantly bypassing various obstacles and broken buildings. Eventually, they finally came to a high ground on the edge of the city, which overlooked the whole city.
The two gasped and looked at the scene in the distance. This once-bustling city is in ruins, with the occasional zombie roaming around.
As the two of them were glad to have escaped, suddenly, a rumbling sound of footsteps came from a distance.
The sound was not loud, but it had a distinct rhythm and urgency, as if something huge was slowly approaching.
T'Challa and Magneto immediately sensed the threat, and their eyes met and they reacted instantly. Magneto's eyes instantly turned cold, and T'Challa clung to his crutches.
The footsteps drew closer, and a vague figure appeared from the corner of the street. It was a fat man, he was running out of breath, his hands swinging wildly, and his fat face was full of fear.
The fat man was dressed in a dark black, striped sports stretch suit and ran through the streets hand and foot. His body was fat, and the flesh on his face shook as he ran, and he looked extremely funny.
However, the group of zombies chasing after him was not funny at all.
The group of zombies had all kinds of rotting pieces of flesh on their bodies, and they emitted a disgusting stench. They roared, sticking out their long nails, eager to catch up with the fat man and tear him to shreds.
The fat man looked back twice, and then screamed almost like a frightened little girl: "No! Don't eat me! ”
Magneto suddenly recognized the fat man, and he shouted in surprise, "Meat balls? ”
Meatball, formerly known as Fred Dukes, is a veteran mutant in the Mutant Brotherhood, with a short temper, lack of vision and lack of intelligence as a major part of his personality, but what really stands out is his appearance, which is exactly the same as his title.
A large living ball of flesh, with a body of fat on its body that can absorb almost all kinds of physical impacts, and he can lift objects weighing several tons.
Hearing Magneto's voice, Meatball also noticed the two of them on this side. There was a glimmer of hope in his eyes, followed by a layer of tears.
"Boss, save me!"
He quickened his running, shouting and charging towards Magneto and T'Challa.
"Be quiet, you idiot! Otherwise, no one can save you. ”
Seeing this, Magneto immediately waved his hand, and the metal objects on the street began to float, quickly forming a metal barrier, surrounding those zombies, and then squatting into a small ball with a 'poof'.
