Chapter 507: There's Always a Reason

The old emperor did not say anything.

I was comforted a little. I feel that maybe it's just a child's singing, maybe it's that I didn't hear it too clearly and misunderstood.

So, he continued to walk.

I quickly put this matter behind me.

After dinner, seeing that today was the first day of the fourth month, the old emperor went to the Buddhist hall to do evening classes according to his usual habits.

However, it may be that I used a little more for dinner, and I felt that my stomach was a little supportive, and it was very difficult to sit cross-legged, so I sat in the Taishi chair on the side and asked a big palace maid to help read Buddhist scriptures to her.

This is also one of the habits of the old emperor.

When she is upset, or whenever she wants to be still, she either recites the scriptures herself, or copies the scriptures herself, or she listens.

This will calm her heart.

"Your Majesty, today there is a master of the Guoen Temple, who has sent a few of their new, short stories related to Buddhist scriptures, etc., do you want to listen to them?"

As soon as the old emperor sat down in a comfortable position and closed his eyes, he heard the advice of the palace maid Rudan.

"yes, okay. But Guoenji has a heart. ”

The old emperor praised.

This kind of tranquil environment, smelling the soothing fragrance, and listening to short stories is not bad, so as not to fall asleep.

Rudan knelt on the futon and read a little story in his pleasant and gentle voice.

This is a little story about the origin of the sesame oil claim. It's not unusual, and it's recorded in many Buddhist scriptures.

Hearing this, the old emperor yawned greatly.

Rudan hurriedly changed a small story.

It is a story about the Buddha cutting meat and serving an eagle.

The old emperor moved his waist.

Rudan hurriedly put down one book, picked up another one, and said loudly: "The little stories recorded on this book are more interesting, and the slave will read them to Your Majesty." ”

As he spoke, he continued: "There is a person who worships the Buddha very much. Whether it is placed at home, hung on the wall, or even food, he learns from the Buddha and carves it into a lotus shape.

And every day he will fast and bathe, burn incense and chant sutras, and have no distractions. This sincerity finally reached heaven and was perceived by the Buddha.

On this day, the Buddha appeared and manifested himself, transformed into a real body, and rode a rare beast. I didn't think about it, but I scared the man half to death, and almost ran away.

The Buddha was puzzled: why is there a difference?

After returning to heaven, pondering for a long time, he finally realized: This son is a person who deceives the world and steals his name. ”

After reading it, the palace maid glanced at His Majesty. Seeing that His Majesty didn't react too much, he understood that he could continue.

Then I obediently read the next little story.

"People always have a lot of wishes. Every wish, no matter how big or small, hopes to be fulfilled by the Buddha's mercy. Even small children have their own wishes.

The Buddha had no choice but to send down the rain, hoping to benefit the world and gain piety. However, there are gaps in the rain and gusts in the mountain wind. There are only a few people and things that can make their wishes come true. As a result, the world complained about the uselessness of faith and spurned it.

The Buddha was confused: Do your wishes come at a price?

The world replied, "Why else would I believe you?"

The Buddha suddenly withdrew the incense and said. From then on, he received only true piety. ”

After listening to this story, the old emperor opened his eyes and looked at the incense candles curling on the altar, thoughtful.

After a few breaths, his fingers moved slightly, and he motioned for the palace maid Rudan to continue.

Rudan turned the next page and recited: "One day, there was a man of insight who wandered around and was busy in the world because of his belief in the Buddha.

His family wealth is used to build temples and temples, build nunnery and towers in various places, and allow people to give many benefits if they become monks.

The crowd followed suit. After all, people in the world are inert, but they can get something for nothing, they are comfortable, and they will rush to it.

However, when the Buddha found out, he was furious. Yun: Heartlessness is a calamity, like a lotus pond with dirty algae, filthy gas soaring to the sky, why bother? Why!

The world does not know that the Buddha is angry, and he is still like a carp crossing the river, proud of his monks.

The Buddha was finally impatient and sighed: "It's too much." So he didn't look at the world again. ”

The old emperor didn't listen.

She stood up, flicked her sleeves, and went back to the dormitory.

However, this night, she did not sleep peacefully.

At first, I dreamed that the Buddha was coming.

The golden light, twisted smile, and friendly smile all made the old emperor excited.

But I want to get close to the Buddha, but I can't.

She desperately wanted to take a step forward, even if it was just one step, but she couldn't.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the Buddha disappeared.

Before disappearing, the glance at her seemed to be filled with disdain.

Later, the old emperor dreamed that he had become a Buddha, but somehow fell into the lotus pond. The mud at the bottom of the lotus pond still firmly trapped her.

Just when she was desperately trying to break free, countless bald heads stretched out of the mud, smiling at her, and they all reached out and shouted at her: "Take, take, bring ......"

The old emperor sat up in shock.

I only felt cold sweat on my back and panicked.

After a while, I drank a cup of tea and fell asleep again, but I saw a bunch of children dancing and singing there.

"1, 3, 5, there is no rice grain in the people's tanks, do you think it's funny?

2, 4, 6, no one grows crops in the field, do you say it's funny?

7, 10, 9, the whole village has no strong laborers, and the wild beasts of the mountains walk all over the ground;

8, 11, the aunt is alive without a husband, and the little daughter-in-law is empty and crying;

In December and December, there were no Buddhas all over the place, and Yueyue entered the village to grab copper coins, you said it was funny, you said it was funny, it was not funny! ”

The old emperor woke up again.

Got up, put on his clothes, walked out of the side nave, and stood in front of the gate of the nave.

They pricked up their ears and listened carefully, but they heard nothing.

In fact, it is said that the old emperor believed in Buddhism, but in fact, she knew very well in her own heart that she was just seeking a self-psychological comfort.

In this life, she is decisive in killing. Especially during the period after she officially ascended the throne, in order to balance the situation in the court and break the constraints of the family lords, she was ruthless and killed.

even did not hesitate to send his own sons and grandchildren to the Hades Hall one after another.

Isn't it heartache? How can it be.

That is also what she conceived in October and felt the arrival and growth of that little life.

But if she doesn't do that, the kings will fall apart and compete for power, which will inevitably cause chaos in the country and the displacement of the people.

But who understands?

She can only hope that the Buddha can hear her own voice and understand her helplessness.

It's just that the Buddha must have known her: in fact, she just wanted to change her image in the eyes of the world, right?

From ruthlessness and cruelty, to the heart of a bodhisattva, such an image of transformation, right?

So knowing that she is not religious, knowing that even if she reads it in her mouth, she will not hesitate when it is time to kill, right?

And the world is vying to emulate her behavior, then it really is...... Isn't it funny...... Finish?
