23~~ Hurt another one!
My chest burned as I gasped for breath briefly. Every time I looked back, I could see Colin's unconscious body lying in the back seat. His hat fell from his head, and curly hair covered his face. His chest rose and fell. He's alive. At least, he is now.
My body bent forward. The harness was the only thing that stopped me from falling to the floor. My face was buried in my hands. My tears soaked our sweater sleeves!.
Oliver yelled at me and told me not to cry. He clutched the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles white.
"Please," I shouted. "Let's not do that. We can throw him on the side of the road and when he wakes up, he'll forget about all of them. ”
"The night you were taken," he said. And so it is! ″
"You've injected me now, why haven't I slept yet?"
"You're just saline," he said. "Let's go home, I don't want you to get tired. So how can you help me with the operation, haha. ”
"I won't help you."
"Okay. Then he would have died during the operation. ”
Oliver sped through the street and back home. I couldn't stop the tears. Oliver jumped out of the car. My fingers fumbled for the seat belt.
He was pulling Colin out of the back seat.
"Hold his legs, Diana," he said.
As Colin's heavy weight tugged at my muscles, I grabbed his legs and gritted my teeth. Colin's head leaned back against Oliver's chest. We walked towards the house. His leg Ji slid down. I had to keep changing hands so I wouldn't drop him.
Every time I stopped, Oliver took a deep breath.
When we finally moved him into the house, he wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand as we threw Colin on my bed.
"I'll arrange everything and get ready for surgery, my dear," Oliver said before walking down the hall.
I waited until Oliver was gone, grabbing Colin by the shoulder. I shook him as best I could.
He didn't move.
I opened his eyes, hoping that he would come to his senses, it was useless.
"Come on, Colin," I said.
I dug my nails into the skin of his mouth. No response!
Oliver's footsteps echoed through the hallway. I jumped back past Colin. Oliver strolled into the room. He changed into dark green overalls. He wore a hat on his head that covered his hair. He also had another surgical gown folded in his hand.
"Change clothes," he said.
"Please," I pleaded, "please, I won't do that." ”
"If you don't, he'll die."
I turned. But Oliver grabbed me by the shoulder.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"You told me to change my clothes," I said.
"And then? You're using your naivety to run away again?. I don't believe you anymore. Just fucking change clothes here. ”
"Shall I change my clothes in my room?"
"I don't know, and I don't care." Oliver crossed his arms over his chest. "Change your clothes before I knock you out."
I put on my pants and covered my body with my skirt. I took off my sweater and skirt and turned around to cover my chest. I put on a boxy top.
When I turned around, Oliver grabbed my hair. I jumped back, his fingers clenching tighter. My scalp burned like it was on fire.
He tied my hair in a bun and tied it back with an elastic band. Grab your hat and put it on my head. He pulled my glasses out of his pocket and I put them on.
He pushed open the bed where Colin was lying. Oliver asked me to grab the head of the bed and help him down the hallway. We walked through a set of double doors.
Marcy watched a lot of hospital TV shows when she was in high school. This room reminds me of the operating rooms in those shows. It was cold and my back was chilling. There is a flat metal table in the center of the room.
A large mirror hangs on the wall in the distance.
Trays, tables, and poles were scattered all over the room.
This is definitely the room where I was operated on. When Oliver gouged out his eyes, I could almost see myself lying on that table with my eyes outward.
My eyes fell on Colin. The corner of the red phone case poked out of his pocket. Ollie turned his back to me. I snatched my phone from him and put it in my pocket. Oliver turned around and I pulled the hem of my shirt down to hide the lump in my pocket.
My heart was beating so fast that I could hear it beating in my ears.
"Let's put him on the table."
"I'm going to the bathroom." I blurted out.
If I can sneak out of this room and into the bathroom, I can call the police. They'll show up before Colin loses his eyes, and then we'll be able to get out of here.
"No," he said. "It won't take long."
"Please," I said.
"Hold his legs, kitten," he said.
I looked back at the double doors. I could run, but I noticed that my body was out of shape. I can't run that fast. The doors to my room and bathroom were also unlocked. Oliver can break in before I call.
"Diana." Oliver's voice pulled me back to reality. "Hurry up."
As Oliver pulled his body onto the table, I grabbed Colin by the legs. He handed me a pair of gloves and a mask. When Oliver took off Colin's clothes and put a gown on him, I put them on.
I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror on the opposite wall. Most of my face was covered by a mask and a hat. My eyes became more noticeable, they were the only things visible on my face.
Oliver handed me the rod, and the wheels on the pole creaked. When he inserted the intravenous syringe into Colin's hand, he asked me to perfuse the line with saline. I've memorized the steps in the textbook, but I'm clumsy when it comes to real-world operation.
I heard Oliver let out a slight laugh. I struggled even more when he handed me supplies to insert the catheter.
When he was ready, I avoided looking at Colin. Oliver pulled out the scalpel and my stomach was knotted.
I grabbed the pole to prevent me from falling. My eyes kept on the cold tiled floor. As I listened to the procedure, I really wanted to cover my eyes. I could hear slicing and popping sounds.
The whole process didn't take long, and my eyes were locked on the floor. I didn't look up until Oliver began to speak.
"Keep your head up," he said.
Colin had a gauze covering his eyes.
Oliver's gloves were stained with blood. I could see two jelly-shaped balls in the plastic bag on the cart. When I realized it was Colin's eyes, I had to force the taste of bile in my mouth. Oliver took off his dirty gloves and put them in a bag to cover his eyes. He picked up a roll of gauze balls.
"Come on," he said. "Hold his head."
I placed my hands on either side of Colin's temples. I slowly lifted his head so that the gauze would not fall off his face. Gauze gauze wrapped around his head.
Transferred Colin back to bed.
Colin's phone was like a heavy stone in my pocket. I can excuse myself to go to the bathroom and call the police. Colin has lost his eye, but at least we can save our lives.
I put the blanket over him. Oliver pulled out two pairs of handcuffs from the drawer. He grabbed Colin's wrist on one side and secured the other side to the bed.
My hand moves over the phone. As Oliver filled the syringe with his medication, he turned his back to me.
I took a step back. I was about to go to the bathroom again when the bell rang. As the bell continued, my pockets vibrate. Colin phone?
Oliver glanced back and frowned.
"What-?" He began.
I turned around and started running to the bathroom.
