14. National repentance

Three days later, Wuji and Nanxu came to the West Shu Kingdom. As soon as they got out of the boat, they saw a man lying on the shore.

Nan Xu said: Look, Childe, this is the young man who was thrown into the sea, shouldn't he have been drowned by the sea?

How did it end up here? Childe looked indifferent, and he turned around to leave, but he thought that this person was also from Chaoyang Kingdom, so he came to him with Nan Xu.

Childe pinched the young man's acupoint hard, the young man frowned and opened his eyes, and he sat up with a bone, startling Nan Xu.

She said: "Childe, we are on a ship with you to leave the country in the east, and we saw you thrown into the sea with our own eyes, why did you come to the country of Xishu again?"

The young man looked at Nan Xu and Childe, and vaguely remembered the two of them. Knowing that they were from his own country, he said, "That day, after I had been cast into the sea by the people, a fish swallowed me, and the throat of the fish was very wide, so that when I was swallowed up alive, I could not take it in it, so I opened my mouth and prayed to the LORD God for forgiveness of my transfida, and for God to save me."

And I made a vow to the LORD God that if he saved me, I would submit to him and preach the gospel in the land of Sishu. As a result, I was spit on the shore by the big fish.

Since I was very uncomfortable in the belly of the fish, my head was dizzy, and I hadn't eaten for a long time, so I passed out again just now.

Thank you, Miss Childe, for the rescue! Nan Su was shocked when she heard it! It's amazing! A man who was thrown into the sea, and swallowed into his stomach by a big fish, was still alive and well, and the fish vomited him to the shore, which happened to be in the land of the kingdom of Xishu, and it was amazing, even the great wind and the sea, and the big fish listened to the word of the LORD God.

She suddenly remembered that she went to a meeting with her mother when she was a child, and heard the story in the Bible, as if there was a man named Jonah who was also in the belly of a big fish for three days and three nights.

The young man said, "I am not him, but I am telling his deeds," and Nansu laughed: The word Jonah means dove.

It means peace, obedience. Jonah laughed when he heard this: I was so sick in the belly of the fish that I made a wish to preach the gospel to the people of the land of Sishu, but in my heart I wanted them to perish!

But now I have to deliver God's message, because I made a vow to God. Goodbye both! Wuxian hurriedly said: You are weak now, why don't we go and have a meal first.

Jonah readily agreed. The three of them had a meal together, and the three of them separated, and Gongzi took Nanxu into a three-entry courtyard.

Nan Su was shocked to find that the ten guards and six maids and daughters in Shunkang were all in the front yard, and when they saw that Gongzi and Nan Su had arrived, they saluted Gongzi one after another.

Childe arranged everyone's work, and they all did their jobs and got busy. Nan Su helped Gongzi clean his hands and put on clean clothes, and then asked Wuji: Childe, when did they come?

Wuji said: They set off with us one day, but they got on the boat that went directly to Xishu at the beginning, and we were delayed for half a day before changing ships.

Nan Xu said: Childe is really a good plan, so that no one knows our whereabouts. Traceless said: The gentleman I invited for you will arrive from tomorrow, you have to put away your heart and learn piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and don't be willful.

Nan Xu agreed, and suddenly remembered that Jonah, so he said without a trace: Childe, please allow me to play with Jonah for a few days, okay?

I'm just curious what will happen to him in the end? If the son allows the slave and maid, the slave and the maid promise to obey you in the future and never disobey it!

Wuji's heart moved, and he looked at Nan Xu: You really obey my words with the consequences, and you will never disobey it? Nan Xu said: Yes, as long as the son allows me, I will definitely make a promise!

Childe and Nanxu high-fived, and said happily: This son agreed! Nan Su originally thought that Gongzi would object, but she didn't expect to really agree, and she was suddenly overjoyed.

Jonah was taken home without a trace that night and rested in his guest room. For three days he preached the gospel in the capital, calling the whole city to turn away from murder, bloodshed, and adultery, or in forty days the city would be overthrown because of human sin!

Three days later, the king of the kingdom of Sishu decreed that all the people of the land should repent of their sins, and that every man should be clothed in sackcloth, and that he should repent of his wounds and sorrows without eating or drinking, or that the LORD God would turn away from the plague he had spoken!

All the nation, from the pharaoh who sat on the throne to the maidservants after the mill, knelt down in the ashes of the furnace in sackcloth and repented. And the LORD God did repent of all those who had seen the city of Sishu from heaven, and he changed his mind and sent no more plague upon the people of Sishu.

Nansu said to Jonah, "Son, you are so eloquent that you have brought all the people of the country to repent in three days, so that God will not send the plague that he has spoken."

But Jonah lost his temper with God, and prayed, "O Lord, I have known that you are reluctant to destroy this city, so I hasten to flee eastward, and now when these men repent and you will not send plagues, what am I?"

I have suffered so much in vain, and now take my life, for it is better for me to die than to live!

And the LORD God said unto Jonah, Behold thy present as a prophet? You are angry when you see your enemies repent, is it reasonable for you to be so angry and ask for death?

Jonah said, "It is right for me to be so angry and beg for death!" Nan Su couldn't help but feel funny when she looked at Jonah.

He said, "Childe, what a glory it is for you to hear God speak, and you can't ask for death anymore." Jonah nodded, and he went out of the city of Western Twilight, and built a shed on the east side, to see what happened to the people of the city.

God made a castor bean grow into a small tree in one day, and the dense and wide leaves shielded Jonah from the sun, and Jonah felt very comfortable, but the next day God arranged for a worm to bite the castor to death, and in the afternoon, the scorching sun exposed Jonah's head, and Jonah was so hot that he fainted and died.

And the LORD God said, Jonah, thou hast not sown this castor bean, but thou hast taken upon it in one day and withered up in the night, and thou hast cherished it, and there are more than 120,000 people in this city of the Western Dawn who cannot distinguish between right and left hands.

Jonah suddenly understood the heart of the Lord and felt the heartache of God's unwillingness to repent and God's desire to judge, God's heart was to bring all men to repentance, not to perish one!

Nansu asked Jonah, "Prophet, is it too cheap for the Lord God to forgive people as soon as they repent?"

Jonah said, "God forgives sins as long as a person truly repents, but a person will eat the fruit of sin in this life."

Nan Su said: What does this mean? Jonah said, "For example, if a murderer truly believes in the LORD God and repents of his sins, his soul will be saved, but he will be punished by the law in this life."

Seeing that Jonah's mind had changed at this time, Nansu invited him to be a guest at Traceless's mansion, and Traceless asked Jonah to be his staff member to help him realize his plan to restore the country.
