167 Dead
Ethan was standing by the pool, and Emmett was taking notes on him.
At the back door of the house next to it, two medical staff struggled to lift the black body bag out.
Hood stopped the paramedics, pulled open the body bag, and stared blankly at Kate's pale face for a moment before zipping it up.
"Who did that?"
Hood walked up to Ethan and asked angrily.
"Kate was just an accident, these people are coming for the person in front."
Hood nodded, clenched his fists, and strode forward.
Ethan and Emmett glanced at each other and hurriedly followed him.
At the place where he got out of the car, a Native American man with long black hair was being helped by Siobhan and Brock, and jumped into the ambulance next to him.
Hood rushed over, grabbed the Indian man by the collar, and pressed him hard against the body of the ambulance, and he roared in rage:
"Who sent those people and what did you do?"
His sudden reaction startled everyone at the scene, and the Indian man's mouth was tightly closed and he didn't say a word.
Annoyed, Hood reached out and scratched at the wound in the Indian man's leg.
Ethan reacted at this point and picked Hood away.
"Let it go." Hood struggled.
"His kid is watching, what do you want to do to him?" Ethan grabbed Hood and looked to the side.
A little girl, only five or six years old, stood beside her, looking at Hood in horror.
After seeing Hood take a few deep breaths, Ethan pressed his shoulder.
"You calm down first, I'll ask."
With that, he let go of Hood and returned to the Indian man, and the paramedic next to him stood a little further away.
Ethan smiled at the little girl, then looked back at the Indian man with his hair.
"My name is Ethan, Ethan Morgan."
The Indian man looked to the right and left, and said, "Thompson." ”
"Mr. Thompson, I just saved your life, your daughter, and this lady's life, do you agree?"
Thompson gritted his teeth, "Yes, that's right. ”
Ethan stared into his eyes and said in a deep voice:
"Now an innocent woman is dead, at the hands of those people just now."
"Are you going to tell me what's going on, or are you going to keep quiet?"
Thompson looked around, and because of what had happened, the neighbors in the neighborhood had come out to see the excitement, as well as a large number of medical staff.
He breathed in silence for a moment, put his hand in his trouser pocket, then shook Ethan's hand and said loudly:
"I'm so sorry, officer, I don't think I can help you."
When Hood heard what he said, his face changed, and he wanted to step forward again, but he was stopped by Ethan taking a step back.
He put his hands behind his back, and the business card in his hand flashed.
After seeing the ambulance leave, the group returned to the police station despite the late night.
Ethan took out Thompson's business card and punched it out in the eyes of his colleagues at the police station.
After a few minutes of conversation, Ethan put down the phone and lit the cigarette that Brock had handed him.
"Procott."
"Is he sure?" Brock asked, leaning against the wall, with a solemn expression.
Ethan took a puff of his cigarette, mentally organized his words, and then spoke:
"This Thompson is the commissioner of the Chino tribe, and they had a tribal meeting the other day."
"The meeting was initiated by another commissioner, George Hunt, and the main purpose was to remove the current chief, Alex Langcid, from office."
"Before that, they had united several members of the tribe, and they had enough votes to vote Alex away."
"But on the day of the meeting, the members who had already agreed on it broke their promises and refused to vote in favor."
Emmett clasped his hands to his chest: "What does this have to do with Procott?" ”
Ethan shook his head and continued:
"Thompson had been threatened beforehand, but he didn't take it seriously."
"After the meeting, he and George Hunt ran to question the commissioners who had broken their promises, and found that they had all been physically threatened."
"And the people who threaten them are all white."
Ethan glanced at Hood, "Including the three people who came over tonight, they are all white. ”
"Shet."
Brock scratched his bare head, "It must be Alex and Procott who hooked up together, this kind of thing is inconvenient for Alex to make a move, so let Proct help him do it." ”
"So what now?" Siobhan looked behind his desk, and Hood had been silent.
It's a small town, and they all know that Hood and Kate Moody have a relationship.
After a moment of silence, Emmett shook her head.
"The three people who went to attack Thompson tonight are all dead, and there is no evidence pointing to Procott, and we can't do anything."
Hood stood up with a blank face and cleaned up the contents on the countertop.
"Everyone is tired today, let's go back and rest."
Brock and the others sighed and left the police station.
Davis's Bar.
It was close to closing, and Candy was turning the wooden chair over and putting it on the table.
Seeing Hood and Ethan walking in, he said helplessly:
"What's the matter with you people who like to come over when I'm almost off work?"
Ethan walked over to help him clean up his chair, "Who else?" ”
"Who else." Candy gestured to his laptop on the bar.
Jaber walked out from behind, "Good evening, Mom Jalan Fake, why did you get off work so late today, I've been drinking with this old man for an hour." ”
Ethan shook his head and sat back at the bar.
Hood walked straight to the bar, took a large sip of half a bottle of whiskey, and then went to the table next to him and sat down, drinking it with an unhappy face.
Candy returned to the bar and poured Ethan a drink.
"What's wrong with him?"
Ethan yawned and drank his wine.
"Kate is dead."
"Kate Moody?" Candy looked up in shock.
"That's right."
Ethan knocked on the countertop and motioned for the candy to continue pouring.
"What happened?"
Candy poured him a drink with a look of disbelief, then looked at Hood, who was sitting silent.
Ethan had no choice but to recount what had happened tonight and raise his glass.
Candy put down the bottle, and after a moment of silence, he said:
"He's really done anything for the casino's share."
Kate Moody didn't have any conflict with him, even if it was an accident, it was caused by him, and he wanted to kidnap the whole family of the aborigines, even for Procott, it was a new lower limit.
Garber looked at Hood, who was silent, took a bite of ice, and asked Ethan:
"That's the guy we met last time at the strip club, right? It looks like a businessman. ”
After Ethan nodded, Jaber cursed secretly.
At this time, Hood said in a dull voice:
"Do any of you mind if I just kill Procott?"
