28--- Back to real life to work

The real-life Jack would put the Chadian tank to shame.

He is over 6 feet tall and probably close to 7 feet, and his shoulders are wide enough to block traffic. The strong muscles made his massive body swell amazingly. The sleeves of his T-shirt were ripped off, revealing bulging biceps, strong enough to lift a horse. His hand was about the size of the frying pan he was frying burgers.

Jack turned to face them. When he rubbed his hand against the size of the apron he was wearing, his shoulders brushed over the cupboards. He looked at Sef with a serious gaze, then nodded.

"Hello," he said, in a low voice. The tone was surprisingly soft. Although his skin is the darkest chocolate color, his eyes are an unusual gray. Unforgettable.

Sef gave a jerky nod, which was more of a spasm than a nod.

"You're the kid Haile said he was talking about?

Jack raised his eyebrows slightly, as if asking, this little shrimp? Maybe he didn't quite think so, but Sef shouted out loud, this guy can crush a skull with one hand!

"I'm going to work in front. The crowds in the evening should soon be pouring into the restaurant. "I'll let you two get along. Have fun! The boss was busy.

And just like that, Sef was left in a small kitchen next to a big man, and he would eat me?

Sef thought melancholy. Jack occupies almost the entire space in the kitchen. Or kill me. It's a terrible idea. Why did I agree to come here to work?

"Dishes," Jack whispered.

What?

Slowly, Jack raised a hand. The action made Sef instinctively flinch. Jack frowned slightly, but he only pointed to the industrial-sized sink in the corner. The counters on either side of it are piled high with dirty plates, cutlery, and glasses.

"Dish," Jack repeated.

"Oh." Comprehension is like lightning, the dish, right? Right. He can do it. Anyone can do it. "Okay."

Only, there's a catch. Sef looked at the pile of plates. He gave Jack a nervous look. The sink was in the corner of the kitchen on Jack's other side. But this man occupies the whole space - how can I get past him?

Should I ask him to move? Will he listen to me?

Jack turned and approached the grill. This opens up a narrow path. He managed to squeeze in anyway and passed without hitting the giant. Good!

He breathed a sigh of relief when he arrived at the pile of plates. Now, this is a problem solved. Sef glanced at the grill.

Jack had taken a step back, he was like a solid gate, blocking the entrance and not allowing him to escape.

He breathed shallowly, and he reached out his trembling hand, clutching the edge of the sink. Good. He can do that. Dishes. There are a lot of them, enough to keep him busy for a while.

There was a bottle of yellow dish soap. And a bunch of three wet rags. Sev fumbled around until he found the drain plug, and he had to push aside half a sink's disgustingly greasy plate. He boiled the water and poured in plenty of yellow lemon-scented stuff.

While the water was flowing, he cleared some of the counter space and wiped it clean, he found a shallow dish and put a slightly damp towel in it. He noticed that Jack seemed busy tossing things into the pot while stirring the sizzling onions on the grill. This relieved Sef.

He put his hand in the hot, soapy water and began his mission.

Then he stared at the neatly stacked plates, clean, dry, and a basin of muddy water, with nothing left to wash.

His mind went blank, prompting him to look around hesitantly. A mountain moved, and a huge brown arm raised and pointed.

"There," Jack said. "Pile them up there."

Seth looked at where Jack was pointing. There are several shelves under the counter with clean plates, cutlery on trays, and upside-down glasses on cushions. This is the obvious place to store all these dishes. Why didn't he figure it out on his own? Because I'm stupid, he thought sullenly, and then started putting them all away.

After he finished speaking, Jack handed him a knife and pointed him towards a pile of potatoes. "Peel," he did. When finished, grind them all with a metal device. The handle squeaks every time it turns, and after a potato is grated, no, I hate this thing!

Jack has been barbecuing. The boss frequently pokes his head into the kitchen and shouts out what the customer has ordered. Most people wanted a burger or a bowl of chili with french fries, and it didn't take long for Saf's job to scoop steaming chili from a large pot on the stove whenever someone ordered. He was careful not to spill it.

It smelled so good, Seth thought more than once. Because he was hungry.

Jack then pointed to a dirty stool near the phone hanging on the wall. "Sit down," he said.

As he sits, he could feel the soreness of his feet and legs after standing for so long. It feels really nice to sit down and change around.

Jack placed a plate in front of him. A juicy burger filled with fried onions and mushrooms drips hot oil onto a plate, coiled next to a slightly salty curly fish fry.

What is it?

He looked up with wide eyes, not understanding what he was supposed to do with this. Jack snorted, pointing to the upcoming delicacy. "Get a plate of deliciousness." Tired of listening to your stomach growl. Eat it. ”

Sef hesitated. "But should I go to work?"

A smile tugged at the corners of Jack's mouth. "You're done tonight."

He remembered his phone, which he had tucked into his pocket on the way out of the apartment. He pulled it out. The time was 9:12. He stared at it in amazement. Where has the time gone?

"Eat," Jack repeated. Sef saw Hamburg like a hungry wolf. It's delicious.

“Fa

k oo," he muttered as he took a bite of food. He's learning that Jack is a taciturn man, which suits Seff as well. He doesn't like to talk very much, either.

Then the owner went into the kitchen. He took off his apron and threw it into the trash can by the door. "Okay, that's it. The place has been emptied. Overall, it was a good day. ”

Jack grunted in response. He finished wiping down the counter and turned to the grill. Sev hurriedly ate the last of his food. He jumped off the stool and brought the dirty dishes to the sink, intending to wash the dishes.

"Don't do it, Sef," Tripp said. "I'll send you home now."

It's awesome and finally ends up working in a real-life restaurant.

"You're new to town?" The boss said,

"yes," he whispered. Then he wrung his hands. I should say

"Are you going to school?"

"No," Sef replied quickly. He stared at his hand for a moment, then added, "I just graduated, so I wanted to ...... Take your time first. I want to put things straight. ”

"It doesn't matter. It's a smart move. Tripp let out a chuckle. Did you know that I actually started studying to be a nurse when I was a child? I think it's a good thing, three years were wasted in college, and then I couldn't stand the blood anymore! ”

Sef would never have guessed. "Really? Do you want to be a nurse? ”

"Why not?" He shrugged.

He glanced at it, then turned his attention back to the road. "It seemed like a good idea at the time. My mom didn't like it – she's a nurse herself, and she says it's one of the hardest jobs anyone can do. She said I wasn't fit for this, and she said yes. ”

Sef didn't know how to respond. "Oh."

"It doesn't matter now, anyway. Should go your own way, right? Tripp fell silent as he waited for the brakes to be in front of the traffic light. Sef remained silent, pondering Tripp's last words. For some reason, they were with him. Go your own way? If he knew what he wanted to do, things would be much easier.

The traffic light turned green, and he spoke again. "So, what about your family?"

Seth froze. "They're good."

Out of the corner of his eye, Seth caught Tripp glancing over again. He stared at his hands, silently hoping that Tripp wouldn't pry them open. It's one thing he doesn't want to talk about.

Sadly, T

IP doesn't seem to be hinted at. "yes? What do they do? "What's going on with all these questions? Why does Tripp even want to know? Why should he care? Sef almost gritted his teeth and didn't let his anger show. Even if he didn't want to talk about it, he felt a stupid obligation to answer. This guy is his boss after all.

"She's the department head of a store. He is a lawyer. My sister is still at home, but she will start college in the fall. "Apparently, she got into the big-name local university on a pretty good scholarship, and she did. The mother has a bright smile and is proud of her wonderful daughter who is so smart and perfect. He blinked, holding back the sudden bitterness. It doesn't matter now. That's all far away.

Next to him, Tripp tapped the drive wheel with a few fingers. "I see. You know, when I was your age, my dad thought I was old enough to take care of myself and kicked me out of the house. It's the best thing I've ever encountered. ”

With a furrowed brow, Sef tilted his head slightly, looking at Tripp out of the corner of his eye. How could this be the best thing that can happen? Is his family also bad?

Tripp smiled. "When I met Hel.Boy, wasn't she very beautiful." "Hull?" Seth repeated. It wasn't the first time he'd heard the name. "You're talking about Beako

Wife? ”

"Hah! She asked you to call her Beako

Is it? ” T

The ip grinned and seemed to find the fact interesting. "Her name is Helen, but I always call her Haile. It's fitting because she always gets us in trouble. What an annoying person. ”

"You've known her for a long time?" Sef tries to imagine her as a young woman. She must have been tall, with unkempt hair and a burly build.

"yes, she was a beauty then, and she still is."

Suddenly, Seth remembered how happy his boss had been to bury his face in Mrs. Vic's chest. It is clear that this guy has a crush on the old lady. Total. He tried not to frown outward. I have a perverted boss.

"Anyway," T

IP blurted out from a dream. The car slowed down, and Seth realized that they had arrived at his apartment. "Here we are. See you tomorrow, okay? Wednesday to Saturday shifts from 4 to 9 a.m. Let's start there, if you don't mind? ”

Sef hesitated for a moment, and then he found himself nodding, which was important to him for his own surprise. "Well, that's okay."

"Great. I'll get them all! ”

The paperwork is ready, and we'll go through it again tomorrow. Do you have a car? ”

Sef shook his head. "I can ride there."

"That's okay, because the parking space in the area is pitiful. When you arrive tomorrow, go around to the back door. Bang, Jack will let you in. ”

Have a back door? Sef felt a pang of unease. What if he can't find it? Why didn't you show him this earlier? "Okay," said a very small voice. Shout out, Sev, hold on! It's going to be fine. Probably. It felt like a rush

Embarrassment, he hurriedly pushed the door open and fled. "Thank you for sending me."

His first day at work was terrible, he didn't like it very much, and the old lady definitely owed him a bunch of lasagna. A whole year, ha.

Saif walked up the stairs to his apartment. I guess that means I have a job now.

Finn would be proud.
