In fact, this ring control technology was available in the later seventies, and the reason why it failed to be popularized was that most of the later helicopters used turboshaft jet engines, and although the strong air flow they injected backwards provided part of the forward thrust, it greatly interfered with the downwash air flow of the main rotor blowing to the tail boom, resulting in the inability to form the circulation control force. The principle of these electric helicopters in China is different, the engine does not have a backward jet of air, and the downwash airflow can be blown on the tail boom without interference, and the lateral thrust of the circulation generated by the rotation of the tail boom shell is very strong.

The low-speed, high-torque DC motor replaces the two turboshaft engines and their reduction mechanisms, directly driving the huge rotors, which actually have a considerable increase in power due to the lack of power transmission to the tail rotor. Although the electric motor weighs more than the turboshaft engine, the overall weight of the drive unit is not much greater. And the efficiency of the electric motor far exceeds that of the turboshaft plus transmission unit, the former can reach 90%, while the latter is only 30%, the power of 1500 kilowatts does not seem high, but the actual power far exceeds the original two 1500 kilowatt turboshaft engines, and its strong power (up to more than 2700 kilowatts in a short time) increases the maximum speed to 380 kilometers per hour. Another biggest advantage of the electric motor is that it is fully enclosed, and it will not suck in debris at all when flying, which can cause accidents such as engine damage and crashes. So they are not afraid of sandstorms and bird strikes.
