Gas-thermal de-icing requires the extraction of high-temperature and high-pressure gas from the combustion chamber of the engine as a heat source, so it inevitably causes the power of the aircraft to be affected.
Therefore, the total amount of gas used should be reduced as much as possible to maintain the performance of the engine under the premise of satisfying the de-icing capacity.

It is important to know that aircraft are most likely to encounter wing icing during takeoff, landing, and low-altitude and low-speed flight.
