Chapter 167: Clever Anti-Self-Error (4)
Faru is still so modest: "The elder taught us to practice diligently and wisely. ”
Elder Huaqing stroked his long hair and dragged out his voice: "But ......"
Faru's heart twitched for a while: "But what?"
Elder Huaqing said: "But your words have not yet discerned the opportunity of Zen wisdom from the nature of Buddha wisdom. ”
Faru's mind roared, his ears whined, and cold sweat suddenly poured out: "The disciple is foolish, I hope the elder will teach." ”
Elder Huaqing said solemnly: "Slowly wipe away the confusion in order to achieve the original desired comprehension, your cultivation method is just due to the 'gradual enlightenment' of the predecessors, and there is no intention of innovation, only reaching a small peak, but not yet reaching the supreme peak of Zen wisdom." Besides, you've been outside my room more than ten times since you wrote the verses, haven't you?"
Faru's cheeks flushed, "Yes." ”
Elder Huaqing asked slightly, "Since you have already written a verse and expressed your heart, why don't you dare to present it to the old man immediately?"
Faru was terrified: "I'm afraid that this verse will be written in a bad way, so I will ......"
"There's just a retreat to keep going right and maneuvering, isn't it?" Elder Huaqing's eyes shot at him like arrows.
Faru's gaze met Elder Huaqing's, and then he flashed away in a panic, and muttered, "Yes...... It's ......"
Elder Huaqing bluntly said: "This shows that you have no clear heart, no self-confidence, and you don't dare to speak out about your feelings, and you can express your true heart." This kind of tricky and tentative practice is actually suffering from gains and losses, indecision, and unclear mind, and there is still a long way to go to reach the realm of selflessness that is empty in the four major realms of Zen wisdom. ”
"I ......" Faru's cheeks were red and blue, and his ears were buzzing.
Elder Huaqing said solemnly, "Let me ask you, what are your views on the 'precepts', 'wisdom', and 'concentration' in the six paramitas?"
Faru solemnly replied: "All evils should not be regarded as 'precepts', all good practices are called 'wisdom', and self-purification is called 'determination'." ”
Elder Huaqing inquired inquiringly, "What would you do if you were to be in charge of the Hui Sect in the future?"
Fa Ru solemnly: "If I am in charge, I will definitely clean up the mountain gate, strictly abide by the temple rules, and ask all monks to recite the Buddha in the morning, practice meditation at night, discuss the scriptures and the Dharma, and practice diligently." Find the opportunity for enlightenment in meditation, from the outside to the inside, from the shallow to the deep, so that Huimen becomes the first door in the world. ”
Elder Huaqing asked, "How do you say you should practice Zen and wisdom?"
Faru replied in accordance with the traditional Zen teachings of Master Shujia: "It is necessary to understand the convenience of the Zen realm of interesting people." Stay away from the hustle and bustle and live in a quiet place; Regulate your body and pranayama. Meditation is the only way to enlighten wisdom. ”
Elder Huaqing said frankly: "When you practice meditation now, you only go outside the door, not inside the door. The path of the supreme Buddha's wisdom is to know one's own mind and see one's true nature in the present moment. This can be recognized in every thought at all times. All kinds of laws are interconnected, unhindered, and if they are true, everything is true. All the realms are the same. The essence of being the same is true. If there is such an understanding, then it is the supreme nature of the Buddha's wisdom path. ”
Faru asked in a trembling voice, "How can I enter the door with the Prayer Elder enlightened?"
Elder Huaqing looked at Guan Ru and sighed: "Alas! Judging from these four verses of yours, you have not really realized the wisdom of the Buddha. Let's put it this way, you have only arrived at the door of Zen Hui, and you have not really entered the door, and you have not glimpsed the mystery of the avenue. Ordinary practitioners, if they follow this poem of yours, they will not fall. However, with such an opinion, it is impossible to attain complete enlightenment. All right! You go and make me a cup of tea, and I'll inspire you. ”
Faru washes cups, makes tea, pours water, and presents it to the elders.
Elder Huaqing took a cup of tea, immediately took a sip, and said, "I'm so anxious, the tea hasn't tasted yet!" ”
Faru knew that the elders weren't just talking about tea.
Elder Huaqing said slowly, word by word: "The path of the supreme Buddha's wisdom must be realized at the moment and the self-nature must be thoroughly seen. The view of the Dharma must be unpretentious, unthinking, without the slightest impulse, and naturally flowing out of one's own nature. You have to understand that your nature is immortal. At all times, in every thought, maintain this awareness and experience. You must know that the nature of everything in the world is originally interconnected, and there is only one absolute nature, all of which are true. Only by looking at all things with this understanding can we leave its appearance and see its true nature. ”
Elder Huaqing picked up the cup of tea again and drank the tea in the cup in one go.
Fa Ru just wanted to add water, but Elder Huaqing waved his hand, played with the empty cup and said, "The so-called Buddha nature, the so-called great enlightenment, is nothing more than the original mind of people who have no troubles and no delusions. This heart, like this teacup, the Buddha and the emperor used it to eat tea, and it will never give rise to a single thought of joy because of this; Insects, birds, cats and dogs use it to drink, and it will not be angry and dissatisfied because of this. When it is full of gold, silver, and precious stones, it will not covet; Use it for sewage, and it won't be disgusted. In this way, the mind is not moved by all things, and it is not enslaved by all things, but it is servitude to all things, and all things are as if they were in my heart. This is great freedom, true liberation. ”
Elder Huaqing gently put down the teacup and closed his eyes and was silent.
Faru gently picked up the cup and looked at it carefully.
Elder Huaqing didn't open his eyes, and said softly: "My own heart is invisible, I want to experience it." By appreciating this mind, you will open the door to the wisdom of the Buddha that you already have. ”
After a long time, Elder Huaqing opened his eyes and saw that Faru was still standing there.
Elder Huaqing sighed and said, "In the world, it is easy to learn Buddhism, but it is difficult to participate in Zen wisdom; It is easy to participate in Zen wisdom, but it is difficult to see sex! It is important to know that the highest state of meditation and wisdom depends on one's own understanding, not on human beings. Well, go back and do as I said, put in some more effort, have a good experience, rewrite a verse in a day or two, and if your new verse can truly understand the nature of the Buddha's wisdom, I will pass on the mantle to you. ”
"Hmm." When Faru nodded in agreement, he was already wounded, his skeleton was about to disperse, and his eyes were full of tears.
Faru gritted his teeth, and finally supported his feet, and when he walked out of the Huaqing Elder's Room, his feet could no longer support him, so he had to hold on to the wall of the south corridor with his hands, and walked back towards his monk's room step by step.
Elder Huaqing stood on the threshold of the abbot's room and looked at it, his heart was like a knife, and he could only sigh and shake his head helplessly.
I don't know how long I walked, and Faru didn't know how he got back to his monk's room.
Faru returned to the monk's room in a trance, and fell into deep contemplation.
This night, Faru's heart was dripping with blood, thoughts were surging, and the bamboo mat lying on the bed was like lying on a red-hot iron plate.
"That verse doesn't work, so let's make another one. Horizontally and vertically for a day or two. For two days, Faru racked his brains and fell into deep contemplation, and he lost a lot of weight, but he could not come up with new verses.
This is not surprising, because the verses made on the south corridor are already the sublimation of his heart and the supreme expression of understanding.
