Chapter 220: Immortal Disaster
Just when Hui Ming was intoxicated and had the privilege of being able to see the Buddha Shakyamuni in this life, Ying Yin and the others had already hurried over.
Ying Yin asked Hui Ming eagerly: "Senior brother, have you caught up with that Hui Neng?" ”
Hui Ming pretended to be stunned and said: "I went up to that mountain pass first, and I waited there for a long time, but I didn't see his shadow at all. I also asked the caravan from Shaozhou in the south, and they also said that they had never met anyone like Huineng. Perhaps, or you are right, he did not go down this path. ”
"I told you a long time ago that he would go straight back to Guangzhou along the main road!"
"Then what are we still rubbing here, turn back and chase down that road!" Hui Ming seemed to remember something again, and said: "Oh, by the way, everyone, from today onwards, I will change my Fa name to Daoming, and I ask you to know." ”
Ying Yin was stunned: "Why...... Oh, you don't want to be the same as that Huineng, good, very good! ”
Daoming pursed his lips, said nothing, and led the monks to another path.
……
Huineng escaped the pursuit and hurried away. After more than half a month of going around and around, the ghost envoy came to Caohou Village like a god......
Huineng couldn't help but sigh: "It's been almost a year, why did I return to Caohou Village again?" ”
At this time, it is the red sun sinking in the west. The naughty boy who returned from the herd rode on the back of the buffalo, played the piccolo, and let the old cow wander back leisurely.
Huineng was about to walk towards Caohou Village at the bottom of the mountain, when suddenly there was a sound of chanting.
Halfway up the mountain, there is a temple hidden among the green pines and cypresses.
"Ah, Mountain Stream Temple!" Huineng blurted out that it was the ashram of the abbot of the Endless Tibetan Nun, the place where he first spoke about Buddhist scriptures. Huineng, who got rid of the pursuit, saw the mountain stream temple, and a feeling of intimacy arose spontaneously when he returned after a long absence. He strode towards the mountain temple.
When I came to the temple, I saw a familiar little nun coming out with a bucket.
Huineng stepped forward, folded his hands, and asked, "Little Master, are you ......?"
The little nun looked up.
"Ahh It's you? Third sister! Huineng recognized the little nun as Zhixiu.
Liu Zhixiu also recognized Huineng, hesitated for a moment, lowered his head, and muttered: "Second ...... No, the poor are illusory. Dare to ask the donor, why is it here? ”
Huineng involuntarily stopped looking at her face, reunited after a long absence, there were too many things to say. But somehow, he couldn't help but say: "Like a fantasy, like a fantasy, life is like a dream......"
It is also due to fate that Master Endless Zang and the benevolent elder of Caohou Village learned that Hui Neng had returned from the Tao in Dongchan Temple, and tried his best to keep Hui Neng to live in Baolin Temple and promote his deafening doctrine of "Enlightenment to Buddha".
Baoling Temple does not rely on any famous mountains and rivers, and the Zhou Kingdom is just an ordinary hillside.
Woods in general. But the nearby plum trees are lined with forests. Every season when the plum blossoms are in full bloom, the mountains are all over the field, like a layer of snow. The plums here are big and sweet. Baoling Temple was later renamed "Nanhua Temple". As the best fruit of Lingnan, "Nanhua Plum" is famous far and wide.
Huineng came to Baoling Temple to promote Buddhism, and soon it became a holy place for spreading Buddhism.
During the time when Hui Neng was propagating the Dharma in Baoling Temple, Ying Yin and Hui Ming had already come along the hilly path in front of the Great Yu Ridge.
Here, it is the only way for the official road of the Central Plains to Guangzhou. Hui Ming knew it and took the opportunity to say: "Hui Neng didn't go back to Lingnan at all. He must have sneaked to the famous mountains and rivers of the Central Plains. ”
"That's right." Those Zen monks who were tired of running around day and night echoed in unison and said that they would not chase any further.
So, they parted ways and went all the way back north; Continue all the way south.
Yingyin continued to go south, and finally discovered Huineng in Baolin Temple. Determined to get rid of Huineng, to prevent future troubles, recover the mantle of the robe, and hide as the shadow of the six ancestors, break into the door.
In order to protect the Baoling Temple and the people at the scene, Huineng sneaked into the mountain behind the temple through the back door. This ferocious shadow actually ordered the mountain to be set on fire, and Huineng was forced out or burned to death with fire.
The sound of the fire burning the grass and trees, and the mountain behind the temple became a sea of fire.
Huineng sat on the mountain, took out the golden robe, and draped it over his body.
The fire was coming straight at him, and he closed his eyes tightly, and his expression was serene, and he entered meditation...... The fire burned all night.
After dawn the next day, Ying Yin saw that the mountain behind the temple had been burned into a piece of scorched earth and ashes, revealing his hideous face, and said sinisterly: "This sky-high fire, even real gold has to be burned and melted, not to mention your fleshly body." Huineng must have been burned to death, and there will be no worries in the future. He led the monks back to Dongchan Temple.
Huineng was not burned to death, otherwise, the history of Buddhism would have to be rewritten.
When Yingyin set fire to the mountain, Huineng did hide in the back mountain. He was surrounded by a sea of fire, and when he was cornered, suddenly, as if he heard the voice of the Buddha from the heavens of Gao Suimiao: Liuliu Ancestor, quickly drape the golden robe on his body......
It was with this magical power of meditation that the Venerable Ka Ye, the first ancestor of Zen Buddhism, hid in the mountains of Jizu Mountain, waiting for the birth of Maitreya Buddha.
The reason why Mahakasa was hidden in the rock was also for a robe, in order to follow the instructions of Shakyamuni Buddha to hand over the golden robe to the future patriarch, Maitreya Buddha.
After propagating Zen Buddhism for more than 100 years, he knew that his fate was over, so he passed on the lineage of Zen Buddhism to Venerable Ananda.
He then traveled alone to the Himalayan foothills of North India, in front of a rock face named "Chicken Foot Mountain" because of its shape like a chicken's claw.
His Holiness took out the golden robe that Master Shakyamuni Buddha had personally given him and draped it over his body. He smiled and folded his hands as he stood quietly facing the wall...... Entered a kind of magical meditation.
Venerable Kasa slowly entered the rock wall of the mountain......
……
At this time, Huineng, following the example of the patriarch, wore the golden robe and sat quietly on the boulder......
As a result, the mountain behind Baoling Temple shook, and the boulder radiated a dazzling golden light.
Oh my God, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, Huineng, with incredible concentration, slowly disappeared into the boulder, relying on this to save his life.
Huineng slowly woke up from the extinction and slowly stood up from the stone, it was already early in the morning.
Most of the flames on the mountain have been extinguished, and calm has returned to the surroundings, except for a few places where there is still smoke.
Huineng took off the golden robe, dismantled it and put it in a cloth bag, and left with his whole clothes in his clothes, and his figure melted into the vast mountains......
After this catastrophe, Huineng knew that it was impossible for him to settle down in Baolin Temple, so he traveled between the mountains of Huaiji and Sihui, farming, collecting medicine, watching the scenery of the mountains and forests with the mountain people, listening to the deep valleys and springs, appreciating the wild interest of nature, and cultivating his own mind.
On weekdays, Huineng continues to practice meditation by himself and comprehend the true meaning of Buddhist scriptures.
Relying on extraordinary perseverance and firm faith, Huineng is in the deep mountains and dense forests in the area of Huaiji and Sihui, although it is a secluded mountain forest, and the wood eats grass and clothing, but it is in Taoguang and self-cultivation.
