Zen is a way of practice, the purpose of meditation is to cultivate the mind, and the process of meditation is also to cultivate the mind.

At present, in the Zen Buddhist world, some people are divided into "South can show in the north" or "South and North Progress", this division is very vivid and appropriate.

I have been taught Zen Dharma by the five ancestors, and I have followed the instructions of my master to live and work with the people for a long time for 15 years, and have creatively explored a Buddhist scriptures and meditation path with Chinese characteristics that are in line with the reality of the working people, which is now called "epiphany Zen" by the people of the Central Plains.

Enlightenment Zen preaches that all living beings have Buddha nature and that everyone can become a Buddha.

Chinese Zen belongs to Han Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism, and believes that the world can become a Buddha.

Epiphany Zen emphasizes subjective initiative, and it is up to me to teach.

Epiphany Zen does not visualize Buddha statues, does not specialize in sutras and laws, does not practice things, and has no rituals.

Some people believe that Epiphany Zen interprets Zen as "epiphany", which is a kind of creative idea, and it also proves that Epiphany Zen is unwilling to absorb Indian Buddhism as if it were swallowing dates.

Epiphany Zen believes that human nature is originally clean and unblemished. As long as this nature can be revealed, one can directly become a Buddha. This pure nature, which all of you have, is simply because you are confused in your hearts and cannot realize yourself, so that you are unable to live and die without liberation.

It is true that the practical imagination of the Chinese created Zen, which gave them the greatest satisfaction in religious feelings.

When the Sixth Patriarch Huineng said this, the conversation changed: In traditional Chinese culture, the three schools of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism have a great influence.

Confucian culture is based on Confucius as the founder and representative figure, and Mencius and Xunzi as the inheritance and supplemental culture. Confucianism first believed that "human beings are inherently good", and believed that human beings are born with a good nature, and everyone has compassion and compassion.

The reason why there is chaos in society, the phenomenon of moral decay and serious selfishness, is that people's conscience and kindness have been lost and they want to get it back.

In this regard, Mencius sighed: "Some people's chickens and dogs are lost, and they know to look for them, but some people's conscience is lost, but they don't know how to look for them, sadly! ”

This led to the culture of morality, ethics and filial piety established by Confucianism.

Therefore, we say that Confucian culture is characterized by morality, ethics, and filial piety.

So, what is the Buddhist culture in China? Buddhism in China is the sinicization of Buddhism.

Speaking of which, we Lingnan people should be proud. Because I was born in Lingnan Xinzhou, Lu Huineng, went to Huangmei to seek the Dharma, and after becoming the six ancestors of Zen Buddhism, I lived with the local people in Huaiji, Sihui, Xinzhou and other places, and formed a unique and excellent Southern Zen in long-term life activities and social practice.

"I believe that all living beings have Buddha nature." The words of the six ancestors of Zen Buddhism are amazing.

Sixth Ancestor Huineng smiled: "Of course." Tigers and jackals are also sentient beings, animals, and also have Buddha nature. ”

"Tigers and jackals are so ferocious, how can they have Buddha nature?" The old Zen master couldn't help but say again.

Sixth Ancestor Hui Neng said loudly: "I can say responsibly, there must be!" This has been proven by practice. ”

"Can you elaborate on that?" The old Zen master will be skeptical.

Sixth Ancestor Huineng said seriously: "Then let's talk about the tiger carrying our mother and son down the mountain and going home, at that time, Uncle Ah Cheng and Ah Lian Mei also sat on a tiger to send our mother and son home......"

The monks present, including the Silent Sky and the Zen Master, couldn't believe that what the Sixth Patriarch Hui could say was true. Out of respect for the six ancestors, he just didn't dare to speak, so he just talked about it.

Seeing the expressions of those monks, Liang Jinhui couldn't help but stand up and said loudly: "Ah ......" He just wanted to say Brother Ah Neng, but after thinking about it, now Brother Ah Neng is the noble Master of the Six Ancestors, and he can't be called Brother Ah Neng so casually, he has to change his name to the Master of the Six Ancestors......

Liang Jinhui thought of this, so he changed his words and said, "What the Sixth Ancestor Master said just now is true, the matter of taming the tiger, I, Tianlei and Tianbao are all present. ”
