"Ah......" the crowd was amazed, "but he said that he would make offerings to the people with Maitreya fruit......

The abbot said, "He is now offering to all of us with the Pure Nirvana Dao Fruit!" You think, a year ago, he foreknew that he would die on this day. How can this be done by ordinary practitioners? The so-called 'Maitreya fruit' is a hint that he is the incarnation of Maitreya Bodhisattva! ”

Lu Sheng patted his knee and said: "Actually, the cloth bag monk has already revealed some information, for example, he often takes out some objects from his cloth bag and shows them to people, while saying: 'This is Tushi Tuotian'." This is clearly hinting at us that he is from Tushitian. ”

"Yes, yes, he also once said that the he pulled was something from Maitreya's inner courtyard. Alas...... People thought he was mad and vulgar, and they defiled the sacred, so they ignored him and even despised him for it. Don't you know that he is Maitreya descending to earth! ”

smiling with a belly, hiding like an idiot;

Similar to the ordinary, I don't know why;

Hidden and difficult to measure, unpredictable;

Real but not false, mixed but not impatient;

Often hold a cloth bag to show the Buddha's ancestry.

Wandering in all directions, the inner secret is like the right wisdom of the Xuan;

Taoguang is obscure, and the appearance shows that he is down-and-out.

The conversation is overwhelming, and the behavior is extraordinary and unholy;

Contains immeasurable secrets, and there is no chance to use them.

The swan song contains the avenue of heaven and earth, but does not reincarnate;

Strange moves, containing the philosophy of life, no one can understand.

Hey, this cloth bag monk is absurd in life and absurd in death!

Alas, it is ashamed to say that the Budai monk became a monk in Shaolin Temple, died in Yuelin Temple, and once assisted the old monk to rebuild Yuelin Temple, but many monks in Yuelin Temple have always hated his irregular behavior and disliked him for being embarrassed. As everyone knows, we are living in the belly of the sages with the hearts of ordinary people. ”

What is the cloth bag monk, leaving the heavenly palace with a staff.

The degree of great karma occasionally appears in Siming.

The appearance is not respectful, and the life is less calm.

The cloth bag is now wonderful, and it usually shows its magical powers.

Thirty years back and forth, to avoid evil.

It's ridiculous that people in the world are ignorant and uninformed.

Hearing the children's rhyme, people suddenly thought that the sixteen boys who often frolicked around the Budai monk came and went without a trace.

They cooperate with the Budai monk tacitly, and they show each other's magical powers, and it seems that they are by no means ordinary children, they must be the manifestation of the sixteen Arhats.

The eighteen Arhats formed by Venerable Qingyou and Venerable Bintou Lu. In fact, the later addition of Bintou Lu is a repetition of the name of the translation of the name, while Qingyou actually records the Sixteen Arhats.

When people were discussing how to bury Budai Monk, a layman surnamed Shen who lived at the foot of Hengshan Mountain in the north of the city hurried over, saying that he had already prepared a cemetery for Budai Monk, and that he had personally met him before his death.

Originally, a mile north of Fenghua County, there is a closed mountain with lush forests and beautiful scenery.

As early as a few years ago, Budai monks often visited the mountains.

One day, in an area called "Zhongta" in the mountains, he happened to meet Shen Jushi. Shen Jushi saw that he had been browsing this mountain for a long time, so he joked: "If Master Budai likes the quiet and elegant here, build a thatched hut here and meditate for a long time." ”

The Budai monk said: "In this treasure land of feng shui, there can be no monks to meditate without Buddha sleeping." Shen Jushi teased him and said, "Then you can sleep here first." ”

The Budai monk said solemnly: "To occupy someone's place, you must get the consent of the master, otherwise it is theft and a violation of the precepts." ”

Shen Jushi said: "The mountains in this tower are all my family's. ”

The Budai monk grinned: "Then the mountain monk will turn into a fate for you." ”

Shen Jushi asked him, "How big is the monk's place?" An acre? Two acres? Or ......"

The Budai monk shook his head and said, "I only need a piece of land the size of a robe." With that, the Budai monk really lay down on the hillside.

Shen Jushi smiled and said, "But, you have to have a house to sleep, you can't just sleep on the ground, right?" ”

The Budai monk said inexplicably: "I don't want a house, and I don't sleep on the ground, but I want to sleep underground." ”

So, everyone dug a pit and built a tomb in the place where the Budai monk lay back then, and buried his body.

However, it is unbelievable that after the death of Budai Monk, people still often see him in Mingzhou, Hangzhou, and Yuezhou.

As always, he has no fixed place, no track, no speech.

However, the monks of Yuelin Temple who personally buried the Budai monk did not believe it, and always laughed it off - how could the dead be resurrected, it was simply ridiculous.

One day, two monks who traveled from Tiantai Mountain said, "Monk Budai is now placing an order in Guoqing Temple on Tiantai Mountain." ”

Although the monks do not lie, the people of Yuelin Temple are still skeptical.

After some time, a monk from Yuelin Monastery came back from outside, and he said, "When he was passing through Dongyang Road, he met the Budai monk. ”

As usual, the cloth bag monk was giggling and crazy, barefoot, but holding a shoe in his hand.

The monk asked him, "Where are you going?" ”

He said, "To Tiantai Mountain." ”

The Budai monk said to him, "When I came out of Yuelin Temple, I mistakenly took a shoe, please take it back." ”

When the monk returned to Yuelin Temple, he learned that the Budai monk had been dead for several months.

The public repeatedly watched the pair of shoes he brought back, which were indeed those of the cloth bag monk.

Therefore, the people felt very strange and opened the coffin to inspect it.

When the lid of the coffin was opened, people only saw a shoe in it, but not the body of the cloth bag monk......

Now the cloth bag is empty, looking back and smiling, all kinds of tastes in my heart;

In the future, Maitreya will be born, Longhua Sanhui, and hundreds of millions of people will be born into Buddhahood.

After the death of the Budai monk, his lay disciple Jiang Maha built a tower in Yingjia Mountain, where he lived, and named it "Fengshi Tower".

In the tower, the statue of the cloth bag monk painted by the landing tree is enshrined. Jiang Maha's inscription poem said:

Tushi Tiangong Ayiduo,

Do not leave the heavenly realm to descend to the woman.

Meeting is my peace of mind,

A thousand lives in a moment.

Maitreya's real name is "Ayita".

After that, Jiang Mahayun traveled to Xiaopan Mountain in Dongxiang, Yinxian County, and built a nunnery to retreat at the high peak.

He easily did not go down the mountain, specially trained a big yellow dog, whenever the rice ran out, he tied a hundred copper coins around the dog's neck, and the yellow dog went to the market alone to buy rice and carry it back, back and forth for twenty miles, and never made a mistake.

Ten years after the relocation of the Budai monk, there was a Fenghua man who was sent by Wu Yue to the former Shu Kingdom on a business trip.

On the way back, when he walked to the plank road, he actually met this big-bellied monk! At that time, the man was taken aback.

The Budai monk still laughed and said, "Don't panic, don't panic, you didn't see a ghost in the daytime." The reason why the poor monk wants to meet you is to ask you to give a message to Jiang Maha. The man said, "Jiang Maha, I know, he lives in Yingjia Mountain." ”

Monk Budai said: "No, no, he is currently studying in Xiaopan Mountain, Dongxiang, Yinxian County. ”

The man said, "He sent a mission back to his hometown, just to meet a friend in Mingzhou first, and Mingzhou's seat of governance is in Yin County, so it is very convenient." ”

The cloth bag monk smiled and said: "The poor monk knows that you want to stay in Mingzhou, so he entrusted you." When you saw Jiang Maha, you said to him, 'The day of meeting is near, may you love yourself!' ’”

After this man returned to Mingzhou, he found Jiang Maha and told him the message from Budai and Shang Tuo.

Jiang Maha listened and said, "I know it." ”

So, Jiang Maha visited relatives and friends all over the place, said goodbye one by one, then bathed and changed clothes, sat on the futon, passed away peacefully, and passed away to Tushi Tuotian.

After the death of the Maha monk, he was buried in Xiaopan Mountain, Dongxiang, Mingzhou. His descendants have believed in Buddhism and revered Buddha for generations, and the practice has continued for thousands of years.

At that time, there was an alternate official named Wang Renji, who was from Putian County, Fujian. While waiting for appointment, when he visited Tianxing Temple in Jiangnan, he met a big-bellied monk.

The monk Zen staff carried a huge cloth bag on his head, walked up to Wang Renji with a smile, and said, "I've seen my parents." ”

Wang Renji was stunned for a moment and said, "The student has not yet been appointed to an official position, how can he be your parent official?" I don't know where the master fairy town is? ”

The big-bellied monk laughed and said, "You'll know when the time comes." ”

After speaking, he suddenly disappeared.

The next day, Wang Renji was assigned to Fenghua County as the county commander. Soon after he took office, he met the somewhat mysterious big-bellied monk in the official office.

The fat monk smiled: "Congratulations." ”

Wang Ren said: "The master turned out to be this Fenghua person. The master is a master outside the world, how can he know in advance that the next official will serve in Xianxiang? Are you a prophet of the unknown, or are you a ......"

The fat monk didn't answer, took out a round book from his arms, and said to Wang Renji: "If I don't come for seven days, you can open it to see." ”

After saying that, he disappeared again and disappeared without a trace.

Wang Renji was an honest gentleman, and after seven days, before waiting for the fat monk, he opened the round seal, and there was a poem in it:

Maitreya True Maitreya,

Hundreds of billions of doppelgangers.

Present to the world at all times,

The world doesn't know it.

Nine words are written on the back: "Don't look like me, this is true." ”

As soon as Wang Renji inquired, he learned that the fat monk turned out to be the cloth bag monk of Fenghua! And the cloth bag monk is the manifestation of Maitreya Bodhisattva.

Wang Renji recorded this incident in detail and engraved the poem on the stone tablet.

This poem is exactly the same as the silence of the Budai monk, and people are even more convinced that the Budai monk is Maitreya Bodhisattva.

As a result, people rushed to tell each other, competing to depict the image of the Budai monk, and enshrined it in the Buddha shrine.

In the vast Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and southern Fujian regions where the Budai monk once traveled, the statue of the Budai monk also began to replace the original Tianguan Maitreya in the temple, and was enshrined in the Tianwang Palace.

Gradually, the Budai monk was the incarnation of Maitreya and was unanimously recognized by the monks and laymen across the country.

So, the big-bellied laughing Maitreya, a Buddha statue shaped according to the appearance of the Budai monk before his death, entered the Buddha hall in a grand manner for people to worship.

Day-day-empty cloth bag,

There is little rice and no money,

but ended up with a big belly and a wide bowel,

I don't know when the people are more faithful,

What do you offer?

Sitting at the mountain gate every year,

Pick up Zhang San and Li Si,

I always saw him rejoicing,

May I ask what is the origin of this head's pride?

Although the tomb of the Budai monk buried on the sealed mountain, his body was not seen in the coffin during the inspection, but the grave repeatedly radiated strange light.

Every major Buddhist festival, you can see the colorful Buddha light in the morning and evening, which is very effective.

Local officials reported this miraculous phenomenon to the imperial court, and the emperor issued an edict to give the Budai monk the title of "Master Dingying".

The royal recognition made the reputation of the Budai monk even more prominent. His image spread throughout the country and even overseas...... Everywhere Buddhism spreads, there is a smile on his face......

Maitreya Bodhisattva's big belly can tolerate, and the things that the world cannot tolerate, how joyful;

The cloth bag monk is full of smiles, laughing at the ridiculous people in the world, and he is very happy.
