2024/1/2 The Nature of Reading and Thinking
Reading and Thinking: Breaking the Prison of Thinking
In the human spiritual world, reading and thinking are like twins, complementing each other and shaping our cognition.
They are purifiers of the mind, washing away the dust from our hearts and enabling us to understand the world and ourselves more deeply. However, the process is not easy, it is more like a detoxification process, painful but necessary.
Reading is our window into the world. Every book is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Through reading, we can be exposed to a wide variety of opinions and thoughts, which are like mirrors that allow us to see our strengths and weaknesses. The more we read, the more we see how nonsensical our prejudices were. Those once solidified thinking chains are gradually broken in the process of our continuous thinking. At the same time, it is also the cornerstone of our understanding of the world, and each book carries the author's thoughts and wisdom, and they are like a beacon that illuminates our way forward. Through reading, we can transcend the barriers of time and space, dialogue with wise men from ancient and modern times, and absorb the essence of their thoughts. In the process, we continue to expand our horizons and break the limitations of our thinking.
Thinking is our innate ability. It is like a sharp sword that can help us dissect problems and reveal the truth. In the process of thinking, we need to constantly ask questions, question, and even deny our own opinions. Only in this way can we truly understand things and grasp them for what they are. At the same time, thinking stimulates our innovative spirit and allows us to think differently when it comes to solving problems.
However, reading and thinking is not always easy. They require hard work on our part and even frustration and pain. In the process, we may encounter various difficulties and challenges, such as incomprehensible concepts, complex logical reasoning, different perspectives and values, and so on. These challenges require resilience and an open and inclusive mindset.
At the same time, reading and thinking also requires us to think critically. In this era of information explosion, we receive a huge amount of information and data every day. However, not all of this information and data are true and reliable. We need to have the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood and sift through valuable information.
In this process, we gradually realize that the most terrible thing about human beings is not the prison of reality, but the prison of thinking.
These cages, often constructed by our own biases and ignorance, are imperceptibly formed in our minds and have influenced the way we see the world for decades. When we begin to realize the existence of these cages, we begin the process of climbing outward. However, the process is not easy. Everything has a cost, and in a world full of distorted perceptions, it takes a lot of effort to be able to think properly.
Like an archaeologist, we need to patiently dig up the prejudices and ignorance that lie deep in our hearts and correct them one by one. When we finally climb out of this cage of thinking, we will marvel at the vastness and depth of this world. Once confined to a narrow vision, we now see a much wider world. At the same time, we will be horrified to find out how unfathomable this cage is. In its shadow, we used to be lost and miserable. At this moment, we will tell ourselves to learn to shut up, to leave quietly, not to disturb the souls who are still dreaming. Because we know that awakening others also requires a kind of wisdom and courage.
In this process, reading and thinking have become our most valuable weapons. Reading books exposes us to different perspectives and ideas and broadens our horizons. Each book is a new world that shows us a different way of thinking and living. Thinking helps us dig deeper into the essence of things and gives us a clearer understanding of the world. Through thinking, we can understand the internal connections and logical relationships of things, so as to better grasp real life.
The process of reading and thinking is like a journey of the mind. In this journey, we will encounter various challenges and difficulties. We need to constantly challenge our cognitive boundaries and constantly broaden our thinking horizons. Only in this way can we truly break free from the prison of thinking and welcome a wider and freer world.
Let's cherish this process of detoxification, keep reading, keep thinking. Let's be brave enough to face our ignorance and prejudice, and strive to break the cage of thinking.
