Chapter Eighty-Seven: Death in the Face
When the traces of Christianity were destroyed by the gods on the earth, the man who hung in front of the pantheon seemed to have lost all his life.
In the perception of the world, even the Greek sages who incarnated the gods, there was no doubt that this being named Joshua was completely dead.
The soul sank into darkness, towards endless darkness, and yet in this endless darkness, what Joshua saw was endless darkness, endless darkness.
Some people say that death is followed by heaven or hell, but real death is-
"None!"
Darkness, the endless darkness swallowed Joshua in an instant, and in an instant, Joshua's figure was soaked in a sea full of bones and rancid water.
The sea of red blood, the mountains of bones, the stench of rancid stench irritating the nasal cavities, and the miserable white eyes looking at the sky.
The bones of human beings are spread out layer by layer, forming the remains of land, the corpses of animals, the corpses of gods, the corpses of all earth creatures that have died now.
This is the land of death, this is the place of sin.
The blood-red moon in the sky shone on the rancid and dead earth, and when Joshua looked up, the blood-red moon was a huge white one-eyed, countless eyes crowded together.
At first glance, it is disgusting and terrifying.
Suddenly, not far away, a mountain full of bones collapsed, revealing a huge shadow, which was—a huge coffin, standing on top of the infinite corpses, surrounded by the bones of countless giant beasts.
The incomparable light bloomed in the coffin, and the blood moon hanging in the sky bent into a withered yellow smile angle, accompanied by a smile full of sarcasm and malice.
Joshua ran desperately, and behind him, the earth was rumbling, and countless corpses crawled out from under the dirt, rushing madly towards Joshua.
Joshua could clearly see that although the corpses were humanoid, they were not human, they were of various forms, and their bodies were decaying.
Running towards death, towards the only light, infinite corpses suddenly erected around Joshua's body, and the broken human corpses turned into a huge wall of corpses, about to open his mouth to swallow Joshua, black waves surged, and a huge wall pressed against him from all directions.
It was a wall, and it was infinitely high upwards, infinitely deep downwards, infinitely long to the left and to the right, and that was - death!
This wall devours countless corpses and drives countless dead beings.
This death consumed everything, and Joshua ran wildly, towards the coffin at the top of the mountain.
Because he felt a force, a force to resist, no, the opposite of death.
In the coffin at the top of the mountain, like a whirlpool, there was a voice calling for Joshua, and the presence in the coffin standing on the top of the mountain was calling for Joshua.
But everything was holding Joshua in the way, in his way.
We can't live, and neither can you!
The dead and rotting bones seemed to say so, and the only remaining eye of a lizard-like rotting corpse stared at Roland, which was the greatest jealousy and resentment of the dead for the living.
Why are we dead and you are alive?
No matter how different religions or literature describe death, they may shout about heaven and hell, or laugh at life and death.
But one thing is certain, and that is that life is the most precious thing.
To live, no matter what, I will live.
Teeth were clenched, eyes were hateful, arms clenched
In the middle of the hell of the living, in the midst of the pursuit of death, Joshua finally came to the stone statue.
He was only squeezed by the corpse, as if his whole body was about to be completely crushed, but there was still a hand that struggled out of the countless withered limbs and touched the coffin.
In an instant, the thick darkness turned into a monstrous wave that burst out of the coffin, and all illusions were gone, all darkness and death were gone, and only a high mountain peak, on which Joshua was standing, looked up at the sky.
A gigantic being was looking down on him, neither good nor evil, looking down on everything as if it were the universe, so grand that it was empty, indifferent, and deadly silent.
It's -
"Death!"
Standing on the top of the mountain, a man full of power, the earth rose at his feet, forming a sword blade that went straight to the sky, piercing the heavenly dome of death, bringing the only ray of light.
With unparalleled wisdom, unparalleled strength, and unparalleled beauty. A life that is too powerful and too beautiful for even death to completely drag it into nothingness.
Joshua's spirit was trembling at the moment, and it was as if everything had been seen through in front of that living being.
"God?"
"It's a being beyond God, it's a human being." Li Luo looked at this Messiah, the Holy Son who had briefly crossed death to come to him.
"People?"
"Exactly, it defines life and death, defines gods and demons, defines the heavens and the earth. Isn't it human beings who define all things? Li Luo said.
He liked Joshua a lot, much better than Siddhartha's bald donkey, and much better than Alexander's old silver coin and the ambitious fellow of the First Emperor.
Joshua looked at the man imprisoned on the throne, bound by countless strips of cloth and iron, immovable, dangerous and endlessly attractive.
"Man, if you are a man, the purest man, then tell me, is there a difference between the happiness of a fool and the happiness of civilization? Which is the choice between the happiness of ignorance or the suffering of enlightenment? Which is more important, the individual or the collective? ”
Hearing Joshua's question, Li Luo let out a low laugh.
"Joshua, Jesus, speaks of the world that man feels, and the world that man can feel is subject to his senses, and all satisfaction is nothing more than what he feels."
Joshua, that is, the Greek word Jesus is also!
"The pursuit of spiritual satisfaction, the satisfaction of each man with his own morality, is the right way, for I am," Joshua lamented, but lamented again, for he had failed, and that all that he had created had been destroyed by the sages of the ancient Greeks.
"When I say this is right, what I say is that if the world cannot satisfy man, then transform it, because man defines everything, not everything defines man."
"Everything that makes me up, but I transcend everything that makes me up, and the resulting me defines all things."
"Joshua, Jesus Massah!"
"If the world is not what people define it, use your fists to knock the whole down!"
