Chapter 101: Smart Work

The face of the AMIS CEO, Rya
Scratched the cat's ears. The G2 conference call didn't go well. "I think I misheard, Mr. Manada."
"I said no," Hector replied, and the two used a secure passage to communicate. "No more counterfeits. I made a deal with your predecessors, and their deaths changed everything. β
"Of course, we can continue where they left off."
"Listen to me, you little bastard," said the CEO, his composure almost gone. "I know you met with Augustus and finalized a peace agreement. People brainwashed by mental shock are under my hands, in my house. Your guy didn't deliver and stabbed me in the back. So why should I keep my promise?"
How did he find out about meeting Livia? Ryan has done his best to cover it up. Either the CEO has an advanced monitoring system, or the Augustus family has a factory in place. Maybe it's a bit of both.
As for his reaction, Rya

The G-League has collapsed in the past because Psyshock's death disrupted the Brain Replication, but he was wrong. In fact, the hijackers had a good impact on Dy
AMIS launched a slow and insidious takeover, brainwashing employees and executives one after the other. Sepsi's death exposes his betrayal and makes Hector Manada aware of the true evil intentions of the Superpowers.
If only he hadn't been greedy to hire them in the first place......
"Then I thought I'd make public recordings of your discussions with the previous administration," Ryan said after realizing he couldn't maintain previous contacts. "Because they've been recording."
Hector's eyes narrowed. "Are you blackmailing me, Mr. Romano?"
"I prefer the word 'plata o plomo,' Mr. Escobar." Ryan always felt like the CEO was the head of a Colombian drug cartel.
"Then you're shooting empty bullets. It costs less to cover up one scandal than to cover up another. β
"Then maybe your competitorβ"
"We all know that Augustus will never forgive an attack on his territory, even if you submit to him. The moment you shake the hornet's nest, your team signs the death warrant. β
That's why he hired the Powers Gang in the first place. Aside from Carnival, they are the only ones who are crazy enough to challenge the genome of Augustus regardless of the deadly consequences. Ryan has one last card, though. "Then I should reveal what's in your knockoff. I'm sure your guys will love buying canned psychopaths. β
Ryan has to admit that he has a poker face. But the courier could see the nervousness in his gaze. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I know what you and your pet Scale Armor have raised in the Sixty-Six Laboratory."
"No, you don't."
Damn, he didn't bite. Despite the many mistakes made by Hector Manada, he was very careful not to reveal the real incriminating information. Unlike Shock of the Mind, he knows how to deal with a bluff. "Blood".
"It's ridiculous," Hector replied, with a smug smile on his face. "Do you have proof?"
"I've analyzed counterfeits," Ryan lied. "I can publish the results."
The CEO didn't believe him, at least not completely. But the courier could sense that he was getting closer. There is a link between counterfeits and blood, though Ryan is reluctant to admit it.
"Many people tried to discredit our work, but we still persevered." Hector Manada folded his hands. "That's my only offer, Mr. Romano. You leave the counterfeits, release my technicians, return my technology, and leave here within 48 hours without causing any sensation. You will take the secrets of this agreement to the grave, and I will not bother you. This experiment will be a failed joint venture, but maybe we can make another deal in the future. β
Yes, that's right. "What if I don't file for bankruptcy?"
"Then I will respond by force," Hector said in one obvious remark. "Enrique and Wywen have been pestering me to send millionaires to kick you out of Rust Town. My approval is the only thing that will save you from destruction. β
Another big business that threatens the government. It almost made Ryan want to be a socialist. "I'll consider your proposal."
"Forty-eight hours, Mr. Romano. No more, no less. β
Ryan cut off communications, and Saleen quickly entered the Oval Office. "So what? She asked. "How?"
"Everything is going according to plan," Ryan said sinisterly, Eugene Henry snoring in his lap. Hector Manada did not even realize that he had walked into a trap, and the messenger guaranteed two days without interference. "Are you ready for surgery?" We're going to rush into the mainframe, or we're going to die. β
"yes, but there's something new at the entrance to the dump. They fit the description you gave us about the smart guy and his robot daughter, so Gemini didn't shoot as soon as they saw them. β
Alchemists have arrived in New Rome? He must have left everything behind after Ryan called him. "Take them to the hangar, Miss Vice President."
"I'll have to ask, you're pretty sure what you're doing, aren't you?" The hazmat girl asked, a little worried. "I mean, even if we lose manpower, we're going to run out of energy very quickly. You really don't want to see someone else miss an opportunity. β
Ryan has been dealing with blood flow for many years and he is very clear about the results of blood flow.
The president leaves Uglen Henry in the Oval Office and walks towards the hangar, only to encounter a rabbit stuffed animal in the hallway. These terrible creatures have been on the rise lately, and there are no children to keep them company......
"Let's go outside and play!" The possessed toy asked, jumping at Ryan's feet.
"No," said the President, but the hateful fellow would not listen.
"Let's go outside and play!" The plush animal insisted, one paw revealing a switchblade.
"Not yet," Ryan replied, the promise of future destruction pacifying the beasts of the end times.
When he arrives at the hangar, Ryan finds Frank towing an old 1986 Fleetwood Boundary Machine, right next to the unused mech. The alchemist and the doll walked out, both under Sharin's wary gaze.
"Be careful, I have precious gear in the back of my car!" The alchemist is still the same cyborg made of brass and steel, with his head in a jar and a syringe in his fingers. It took all of Ryan's willpower to resist confronting the betrayer, and he muttered at Frank for accidentally driving his car.
His robot daughter "Tea", alias "Doll", has undergone some changes. She is still a cute redhead dressed like a typical country girl, but her arms are covered with artificial skin that makes her truly lifelike. If Ryan didn't know her true nature, he might mistake her for someone of flesh and blood.
She glared at Ryan as soon as she saw him.
"It's safe, Mr. President!" Frank gave a military salute to the leader of the free world. "Your guests are here!"
"Well done, Agent Frank." Ryan congratulates him, and the doll walks in his direction. "Hey, Cha Cha, long time no see-"
She slapped him hard and made him flinch.
Shalin prepares to blow the tea to pieces, and an enraged Frank takes a step forward. "Wait, wait, it's okay!" Ryan raised his hand to signal his bodyguards to be quiet. "She's my ex!" She can do it!"
"Oh, she's the former first lady?" Frank asked, immediately calming down. "You've found a pretty country girl, Mr. President. It reminds me of my hometown of Texas and of the good old days......"
"You ......," Chacha glared at Ryan. Two years without a sound, is that what you're talking about?" Long time no see?"
Ryan sighed as he massaged his cheeks. He could have escaped with a stop in time, but deep down he thought he deserved it. "Does that really make sense?"
"You deserve it." The alchemist said dryly.
"Ryan, I know you may have left us for your reasons. You are always a free person, and that's what I love about you. "Tea with arms crossed." But you didn't even write a letter!"
Ryan did send a letter once asking how their robot cow was doing, only to receive a confused reply. As it turns out, he references events that were deleted in the previous loop, and what they never built in the last loop.
This realization completely shattered him, and he erased the timeline.
Unfortunately, Ryan knows Dole better than he does. He knew everything about her past, everything she liked, everything she hated...... They did all the things she dreamed of, like traveling to France, but she only remembered a small part of what they went through together. In her opinion, Ryan had a brief romance with her; They have been together for many years since then.
Just as Jasmine forgets his pain, Ryan can't bear to bear a shared past alone, especially after the betrayal of Brain Dead. So he left, trying to forget.
However, as he looked at her, Ryan realized that some of the people he had left behind had once cared for her. It is important for them to remember the short time they spent with the courier. This made him regret it.
"I'm sorry," Ryan said, not knowing what else to say. "I'm really sorry."
"It's a start." Tia said, her face softened a little. She just doesn't hold grudges. "But you have a lot to explain. What are you doing with these monsters?"
"Hey, I'm not a tin man pretending to be human," Sarin growled, and the doll ignored her.
"You're a member of the Superpowers." The alchemist said contemptuously. "Frankly, the only reason we're here is that I owe a favor to this violet biowaste. I don't even understand why he wants to work with you. β
"yes, Ryan, I thought you hated Psycho?" Tea asked, a little worried about his safety. "They...... They didn't force you to work with them, did they?"
Saleen snorted. "You got it upside down."
"No one can control the United States," Frank added. "We have captured our alien lords and enslaved them."
"I won a civil war and won control of this great country," Ryan said. "Now I want to find a cure for psychosis...... The most important thing is to help friends in need. β
When the doll immediately showed a worried look, Ryan's words only piqued the alchemist's curiosity about science. "You mean the medicine for mental illness?"
"Well, Ryan, I trust you. For the sake of the old days. Tea put her hands on her waist. But you still have to apologize to someone. β
The courier glanced at the pickup van. "He's in there?"
"Yes," Chacha replied very seriously, "yes, he is." β
Ryan took a deep breath and cautiously opened the back door of the van.
As expected, alchemy brought with it a sizable portion of his studio, from wet software computers, colorful jars of suspicious content, tiny brain scanners, ...... There is also a toaster. Ryan looked at it, noticing four small wheels proppelling it forward.
The little thing drove to the edge of the car and faced the courier.
"Hi Ryan," the toaster's sounder mimicked Schwarzenegger's Terminator voice.
"Hi, warm." Ryan could feel the other people's stares staring at him. It's embarrassing. "You have wheels now?"
"Yes, tea was filled for me when I was tired of watching TV all day." Unlike the others, there was not a hint of reproach in the toaster's voice. "It's been two years, Ryan. Two years. I want you to toast a lot of women during that time, because I won't get any of them. β
"Yes, making a toaster may reduce your chances," the courier mused.
"Look, it's still the old activist." The toaster clicked. "Damn, I miss you so much, man. I love life on the farm, but you add a 'I just say I'm good' feeling. β
Shalin kept sweeping between the toaster and Ryan, completely unsure of what to say. "What, you think stuffed animals are my first creation?" Am I a pony who can only play one trick? The messenger said with a blank face. "I went through a robot-making phase."
"yes, he made me scraping the bottom of the bucket," Toasty said as he drove the car to the floor of the bunker. "A little advice to you, don't let him mess around with his boxers. You'll have to spend a few days cleaning up the leftovers. β
"You made a smart toaster." Sarin glanced at Ryan's work suspiciously. "Why a toaster?"
"I feel like I'm being judged right now," Toasty said.
"At some point in my life, I wanted to settle in France," Ryan explained, "and my biggest anxiety was waking up to find a lot of bread...... There is no way to bake it. β
Without saying a word, Shalin put his hand on her gas mask. "You know what, I don't care anymore."
"It's not the worst thing he's ever done!" Brainless whispered that he had been holding a grudge for many years. "That idiot equipped my bullets with a bomb and got his dirty bodily fluids all over the place"
"It's okay, Dad, I have a cleaning routine," the doll replied, not at all embarrassed by this public outburst. "We discussed this."
"Wait, you slept with the robot?" Sarin asks Ryan, finally connecting the facts to the facts.
"I've slept with everybody, everybody." Although, in the end, after centuries of experimentation, Ryan discovers that his favorite is humanoid females. The courier doesn't turn down new experiences, like Ducklin, but he clearly has weaknesses in female geniuses who are shorter than him. "I even got her a detachableβ"
"One Mech, anyway
o
Base, huh?" The alchemist changed the subject and immediately recognized the bunker. "Did you take advantage of my inattention and upgrade from a drug dealer to a bomb?"
"It's not terrorism in our country if it's doing that," Frank replied. "This is an armed intervention."
"Oh, that's great, mech!" The toaster tumbles in front of Mekron's Scorpion War Machine. "Can you upload my personality matrix in?" I mean, a giant robot is an overpowered toaster. It was meant to be, baby!"
"Is that why you need my infinite genius?" The alchemist asked Ryan, and the toaster happily circled the mech. "For another prank?"
"No," the courier replied dryly. "As I said, friends need help."
The alchemist and his daughter exchanged glances, their demeanor changing from anger to concern. "Show me." Genius asked.
After taking over the Superpowers, Rya
Put Le
Transferred to the infirmary, turning the place from the brainwashing assembly line of Psychoshock into a real medical area. His comatose friend slept on an operating table, wearing a respirator, which was right next to Diminis' brain-replicating device. She looks calm in her sleep......
Unfortunately, the voice of another patient in the room was unbearably loud.
"You thief, I'm going to kill you!" Acid Rain broke free from the shackles tied to the operating table. "I'm going to run away, and when I'm gone, I'm going to tear you to shreds!" I'm going to gouge the door open with your guts!"
"Well, the typical psychopath." The alchemist held up a hand-held scanning device over her head, and the message appeared on his dome head. Unsurprisingly, she has a bunch of nasty tumors and mutated neurons on her head. I was amazed that she could still speak. β
"It's getting harder and harder to tranquil her, boss," Shalin warned Ryan. "I think she's developing a kind of endurance."
"I'm going to kill you!" Acid rain roared at the courier. "You keep them away from me!" All of them! If it weren't for you, I would have gone back a long time ago! I could go all the wayβ"
The alchemist hits the imprisoned psychopath with the fingers of three syringes, injecting her with a colored liquid. Acid Rain let out a savage roar, her veins turning green from the vein, and then her voice disappeared in her throat. After a few seconds, her gaze became empty and lifeless.
"You know, if you want to euthanize, there's a nursing home two blocks away from here," Ryan told B

deadγ
"I used a treatment for brain cancer and an emotional stabilizer," Alchemy explains. He can't read black comedy. "They disrupt the growth of cancer cells, stabilize her body fluids, and repair damaged neurons. As long as there is a new mutation in her mental state, this will be a temporary solution, but it should stabilize her mind for a while. β
"Hmm......" Shalin crossed his arms. Can you do the same with a dog?" The juice also severely damaged his brain. β
"I thought you didn't care about helping people," Ryan said, remembering how the alchemist carried out his drug cartel plan, but never really cared about curing people's diseases.
"I didn't," B
ai
Dead admitted. "But the ragdoll nagged me to do it."
"I think we should give back to the world," the woman smiled and nodded happily. "A lot of people had tumors because of the after-effects of the Mekran plague, so I asked my dad to find a way to treat it."
"Also, saving my neural computer from Alzheimer's and similar problems is one of my top priorities," said Alchemy, who digs deeper into himself. "I have a lot of test subjects like this."
yes, or that mad scientist with no morals. At least the doll acted as his little cricket.
Ryan glanced at Ryan, who was unconscious. "Can you cure depression?"
"I can address the physiological issues associated with the syndrome, such as chemical imbalances, but not the psychological roots. I'm not a psychiatrist, and I don't have time to listen to people who are full of grumbling. β
However, if the dwarf can avoid relying on antidepressants, perhaps...... Maybe she'll be cured eventually.
Tea didn't miss his deal with Le
The gaze. "She's ......"
"It's her, yes." Ryan confirmed, and the doll looked at the unconscious girl with interest. "Orchid".
"You came to this city to find her, didn't you?" That's why you're leaving. After all this time, you still want to find your friends. The female gently took Lunn's hand. She felt so cold, poor girl......"
"Hmm......" The alchemist examined the unconscious genius with a scanner. Repeated attempts to rewrite her brain patterns in a short period of time have strained her neurons to the point of almost completely shutting down. I promise you, she won't wake up on her own. β
Ryan was furious, but he wasn't surprised.
"We got a copy of her brain." Livia had already sent the file, but asked for a better way to record the information; It takes many lines of code to replicate a brain map of the human mind. She tapped her fingers hard throughout the article, and even then, Ryan doubted that her abilities played a big role in processing the entire article. "Can you use it to fix her brain?"
"What's the point of overriding someone else's thoughts with your own thoughts?" The alchemist asked suspiciously, then decided he didn't care. "Do you have the device that's causing these problems?"
Rya
Pointing at Dy
AMIS's brain technology, let the "genius" scrutinize. He didn't look impressed. "Hmm...... I understand...... Very subtle, yes," Bran said as he examined the system's helmet, "This system has traps that destroy new patterns with foreign elements during the rewriting process......"
"Can you fix it?" Ryan asked.
"No," B
ai
dead replied bluntly. "The destruction affected the basic parts of the machine. However......"
"But what? The Messenger looked up hopefully.
"However, I can easily reverse-engineer this machine and build one myself. A person who works as expected. The alchemist glanced at the walls of the infirmary, as if looking for a hidden camera or plan. Is there a genius studio in this base?" From what I know about McLaren, he must have assembled a substance replicator somewhere. β
"There's one," Ryan said, remembering it from the blueprint. "A biomechanical blue brain controls the base. We intend to force our way into the host and take it over. β
"It's U.B." The alchemist guessed. "Universal Brain". The ultimate biomechanical data storage device. I've always wanted to build one but never had the resources. β
This shows that Mekron is better than most geniuses in his field of expertise. "You can hijack it?" Ryan asked. He intends to accomplish this without the help of an alchemist, but if the genius has already reformed himself......
"If I could get my hands on it, yes. I guess that's easier said than done, right?"
As far as Ryan knew, Big Fat Adam managed to do twice as much, even though he threw countless people at the defenders. Nora's structural analysis should get them to the host quickly, but not without a fight. "Well, before you arrived, we were preparing to attack. I know you're useless in battle, so-"
"I'm not 'useless,'" Braindead protested weakly. "I'm a scientist, not a sharpshooter, but I can protect myself."
"Not against robots," Ryan said, glancing at Frank. "That's why the U.S. Secret Service will make sure you're safe."
"He'll be safe, sir." The giant assured him. "No president dies right under our noses!" None of that matters!"
Of course.
"I'm coming, shorty," Ryan told his unconscious partner. "Wait a minute."
