Chapter 141: The Return of Cashmere
Ryan thought it was going to be Augustian. joined the mafia party organization and rose through the ranks, perhaps for the sake of his daughter to challenge the big thunder people.
But as he prepares to attack the Bliss factory with a rabble of misfits, Ryan realizes he's mistaken. It's a hidden, unexplored route.
Carnival Route.
Ryan and the Shroud float above the Elysium Factory, hidden in the clouds; The former relied on the propellers of his armor, the latter on his own strength. Ryan awaits an amphibious assault under the waves, and Wave and Sarin will soon be in position.
"They'll know it's ours." The Shroud grumbled, barely visible of him. "Carnival. I shouldn't have told Mr. Bo about this operation, that weirdo didn't listen to reason. β
Ryan gently patted his translucent friend's helmet, much to his surprise. "What's that for?" The vigilante asked.
"You can't insult Mr. Bo in front of me," the courier replied. "If he wants to cause fear in Lightning Bart's heart, that's his divine right, and we'll indulge him."
"Wait, didn't he save your life?" The Shroud scoffed. "I should have known he was influencing you. The obsession with cashmere is a telltale sign. β
Ryan loves cashmere as much as any sane person, but Mr. Bo did open his eyes to the gorgeousness of cashmere. The Courier's first cycle mostly revolves around the superhero saving him from the explosion, over and over again, protecting the time traveler from the flames with a soft wool suit.
The original plan was to blame Meta-Ga for the attack
g), but while Po agrees to change his clothes, he simply swaps out his flashy suit for a black tuxedo and scaly boots. "They'll know it's yours, Wave." The Shroud grumbled, somewhat justified. "You didn't even cover your face."
"Mr. Bo wears an evil outfit," his dashing teammate protested. "It's black, the underwear is made in China, and the socks are made of linen."
Ryan looked at his hero in shock and anger. "This is a war crime!"
"Definitely. Therefore, Mr. Bo surrounded them with tasteful crocodile leather boots to soften the blow. It's like putting a flower on the barrel of a Kalashnikov rifle. β
"Why are you in the third person?" Lunn asked.
"The power of Mr. Bo's name cannot be properly expressed in the first person"
While Ryan giggles, probably because she's used to Ryan's own antics, the rest of the team doesn't get it. "Are you always like that?" The Shroud asked Shalin as she took off her hazmat suit and let her gas form come out.
She snickered in response. "Do you think they have more?"
"I pray not."
"The wardrobe," Ryan said, shattered all their hopes and dreams.
"I've heard of this wardrobe," Mr. Bo finished. "Our meeting will be legendary, but Mr. Bo doubts that the world will be spared."
After that, Sarin caused some dysfunction by allowing her gaseous body to flow through the wind turbines around Ischia. Geist sensed her presence and left the fortress, not knowing what to look for in all the poisonous gases.
Still, when Ryan saw the golden skull flickering around the island, he wondered how far the power of the yellow genome could reach. Casper, the ghost ghost, could clearly sense that Sarin was somewhere on the island, even though she had no flesh. Did he feel her soul? Do people really have souls? But if that's the case, why can't he feel Ryan and the Shroud in the air?
It reminded Ryan of Monaco. The yellow genome often has conceptual limitations, reasoning with abstract laws rather than scientific rules. Maybe Geist could only detect people who had set foot on his ghost place in the strict sense of the word, or something like that.
Regardless, with the Ghost busy and the Olympians in a meeting, the Elysium Factory was temporarily devoid of a major defender. Now it's time to attack.
At the beginning of the attack, a metal monster rises from the waves and lands on the shore.
Ryan has full access to McLaren's armory, and he's not the only one upgrading his technology. Ryan also swapped out a new one of her power armor to reduce the risk of being recognized. Her second mech was as bulky as Vulcan's, reminding Ryan of Cthulhu, with inorganic tentacle whips on his face. The hands are finished with huge crab claws, and the blue paint of the armor makes it almost undetectable in the water. This alien's design is unlike anything Ryan has ever done before, more inspired by Mekron's own work.
She immediately fired at the fortress with shoulder torpedoes, destroying the huge facades. When Shalin destroys several of Vulcan's turrets, he will attract attention and immediately open fire. Ryan blasted them from above with his chest gravity gun, and the black orb collapsed in the space around them, shattering the weapon. The Shroud also carefully damaged the glass and silicon components inside the machine, causing a serious malfunction.
With the automated defense system shut down, the Augustus guards in riot gear remained standing on the walls, while their allies came out of the gate in red steampunk armor to intercept Ryan. Ryan recognized the latter as Vulcan's Fire Power Genomics company, and their equipment enhanced their powers. They hurled car-sized fireballs at Ryan, causing her outer protective layer to heat up.
A red blur swept across the sea at a blinding speed, striking an Augustus Genome and crashing through a stone wall.
"Mr. Bo will step on his feet," Mr. Bo proudly announced his arrival, holding his hands high in the sky, "it will be in someone's face!"
Ryan couldn't help but become a fan of his idol, and he screamed loudly, attracting the attention of the guards. "You idiot, you alert them to our location!" The Shroud grumbled before flying away, turning completely invisible, waiting for a chance to infiltrate the fortress. Ryan himself ignored the gunshots. His armor can withstand attacks from Augustus and Radiation, so bullets can bounce off easily.
However, the cold, eerie winds in the air are even more worrisome.
Ryan barely had time to fly to his left, avoiding a rock, the size of a car that smashed on his head. A glittering colored tornado, supernatural dust revealed in its wake, and a ghostly golden skull appeared over the fortress.
"What's going on?" Geist asked, though he didn't sound worried at all. If anything, he sounds bored when he looks at the battlefield. An automatic torpedo flew out of the water and landed on the island, trapped in Shalin's power armor. "Who are you?"
Ryan almost introduced himself as Saturn, in deciding that it was not a strong enough name. "King Saturn." He introduces himself, and his armor changes his voice. It's time to abandon democracy and fight for the divine right to rule!
"You can't call yourself Saturn," the ghost Casper replied as he telepathically lifted the remnants of the fortress's outer wall. "I think my organization owns the copyright to the Roman name."
"King Saturn!" Ryan activated his chest gun. "A capital K!"
His gravity projectile passed harmlessly through Geist, not even scaring him. The ghost responds with a rain of stones, each enough to crush a tank. As the Courier fears overusing the time-limited device so that his fighting style is not recognized, he has to go around in circles around the point of attack.
"Ghosts?" Mr. Bo asked on the ground, grabbing the throat of an Augustus guard. "Are you one of Mr. Bo's victims?"
"No," Geist replied, telepathically throwing more cannonballs at Ryan. He moved the rest back to replace the façade, dealing with these attacks with no more enthusiasm than a middle manager to pay taxes.
"In time, you'll make it."
"If I kill you, does it count as murder, because you're dead?" Ryan laughed at the ghost and flew past him. He had expected to inflict damage like Augustus, but instead, he harmlessly passed through Geist's ethereal skull in stages. The ghost's reaction is to telepathically throw him to the beach below, and Ryan is buried face down in the sand.
"Oh, he's falling," Geist noticed, with a hint of fun. "Does it hurt?"
This confirms this. Ryan's secondary energy only works when time stops.
The courier quickly guessed the reason. His power works by aligning the reality of the earth with the world of purple, which itself is the crossroads of all space and time; A crossroads where he can draw energy from the dark world.
A powerful crimson shockwave hits the Elysium Factory, and Ryan gets back to his feet, causing the entire castle to shake and a Barbican to collapse. The stones near the castle crushed Naginia's flowers, and a hole led to the rooms inside.
"Oh my God, Ceres doesn't like that." Geist commented in a bored tone, and Ryan's thermal sensor told him that the Shroud had used the opportunity to slip into the fortress. While the ghost hastily repaired the ruined curtain wall, the unseen vigilante had slipped in.
The messenger looked at the source of the explosion, a woman in an orange synthetic suit lined with crimson metal plates. The helmet looks like a hybrid of a gas mask and a knight's helmet, while the gauntlets glow crimson.
Shalin had put on her own power armor.
In Mech

In the laboratory, the spacesuit was made using the data collected from the previous loop, which is specially insulated to resist the wearer's own rust. It also spreads the energy of the shockwave throughout her body; When the guard fired a bullet at her chest, the bullet simply flattened without causing fatal damage.
"It's not that easy to hurt me, is it, idiot?!" Shalin gloated, then raised his hands to shatter a thermodynamic genome wearing power armor. "The time of retribution has come!"
"Listen, I really hate work, and I don't get paid for it," the ghost said in the most lazy of voices, expanding the colored dust that supported his heterogeneous skull. A sparkling storm the size of a tornado soon enveloped the castle, forming an impregnable wall around it. "Can you, you know, walk away?" Or we can play Boa
d & Co
quest, if you will. β
"If you hate your job, why don't you let us in?" Sarin roared as he sent a shockwave into the colored storm. The explosion fails to pass the defenses, and Ryan realizes that Geist has extracted a strange substance from the yellow world. The twisting storm blew the sand in all directions, expanding the area of the beach.
"Father Tork promised me that if I kept heaven clean, he would find a way to drive me back to heaven, and I didn't know any other priests. I was a bit tied down to that island, so I didn't have an active social life. Geist observed each member of Ryan's team in turn. Is there any of you who is a pastor?"
"Mr. Bo has a rabbinic license." The questioned genome jumped into the air and turned into a laser that pointed straight at Geist's terrifying face. "He'll hack you like Solomon!"
Geist telepathically stops Mr. Bo in mid-air, and the red genome returns to its original state. "I'm a Christian, so you're out of luck," the ghost said, before throwing Mr. Wave into the sea. "Life is not fair."
"Don't tell me," Ryan said as he returned to the sky.
Geist made a loud sound that could be taken as a shrug as his skull changed shape. Two massive golden bony arms and the chest underneath are supported by the colorful tornadoes that protect the Elysium Factory. The ghost turned into a giant, and his hand lunged at Ryan.
"Wait, you're going to shapeshift?" Ryan protested as he tried his best to avoid the giant's hands. "Why don't you do that to Dinamus?"
"Kinetics?" Geist asked, confused. With all the motives of an exhausted office clerk, he tried to squash the flying messenger like a bug. "I can do almost everything a ghost can do, and it's amazing. But I'd like to include moving out. β
The Ghostbusters ad is a yellow version of Leo Hargraves. Ryan shuddered at the thought of what the ghost would do if he wasn't confined to where he haunted and had any motive at all. If Geist had the instinct to be a killer, he would have realized that he could use telepathy to crush people instead of throwing them away.
Sharin and Ryan tried to support Ryan, the former with a blaster and the other with a torpedo. Neither of these weapons seems to be as effective against the Colossus's golden arms as the Water Gun against the statue. Mr. Bo ran back to the island on foot, a crimson spray behind him turning the water into steam. He tried to pass through the tornado barrier around the Bliss factory, only to be thrown back, as if hitting a force field.
"Well, you did it," Gast said, his tone visibly more annoyed. "Have you seen 'The Mummy'?"
"1932 or 1999?" Ryan asked, only then realizing what the ghost was thinking. "Oh, 1999."
Below the flying messenger the beach begins to move and twist, forming waves like a raging sea. Lunn and Shalin were buried beneath them, flanked by most of the defeated guards, while Mr. Bo had to escape in the form of lasers.
Then, the beach began to rise, and Geist's will formed a sand tsunami. The higher Ryan flies, the higher the waves.
"You know, I've never tried to see how high I can lift it," Ghost Casper said, amused by Ryan's attempt to escape. By this time, the sand wall had risen higher than the Happiness Factory, eating up all the sand on the shore. The Courier hopes that his allies' strength armor will protect them from the inevitable onslaught.
"Well, Imhotep, I'm going to send you back to the nineties!" Ryan circled Geist's arms, rounded them, and headed straight for the skull. "Teeth first!"
"I'm almost dead," Geist said disapprerovingly. He didn't even bother to cover his skull with his huge hands, he was confident in his immortality. "Not even Sykes and Pluto can bury me six feet deep forever."
"In this case, you're forcing me to use all my strength," Ryan said, raising his fist. "Now I have to use my hands!"
When his gauntlet reaches Geist's skull, the time traveler freezes time, but only for a split second. As the world turned purple and a black meteor strode across the sky, a string of black particles dragged out from between his fingers, like the tail of a meteor. An unstoppable force that strikes invisible objects.
When Ryan's metal fingers connected with the ghost, he felt resistance.
When time returned, Geist's golden skull flickered, and black cracks appeared where Ryan hit him. The shimmering dust tornado that supported it weakened in an instant, and the psychic telesensing power that caused the sand tsunami also failed.
Tons of sand fell on the ground around the fort in a catastrophic collapse. A cloud of dust covered the island and the sea, and Ryan couldn't see anything. Some sand entered the fortress and stained the fortified walls yellow.
"You ......" Geist's ghostly gaze turned to Ryan in shock, his massive arms hanging down like puppets without rope. You hit me!"
βVade Ret

as!β Ryan said. Below, the dust had disappeared, and Shalin pushed himself out of the sand prison with a shockwave. Mr. Bo reappeared from the island and began to move at high speed on the beach, perhaps looking for the buried Lun. "Or you'll see the back of my hand again!"
"You hurt me......" A strange colored substance fell out of the eye socket of the skull, a liquid version of the glittering dust that Geist left behind him. You hurt me......"
He... He's crying? Ryan was sad for a moment, then realized that there was no sadness in the ghost's voice.
These are tears of joy.
"Finally!" Geist was deformed again, his arms and ribcage gone. The colorful tornado that obscured the castle of Aragonis vanished, leaving the Elysium Factory defenseless. The guards that the team failed to defeat, the ghost sand tsunami was crushed. "Go, send me back to heaven!" Tear open my ectoplasm and my soul is ready!"
Normally, Ryan has no problem striking enemies, but the ghost's voice makes him hesitate. He stopped time and patted the ghost's skull lightly, and time returned, the ghost bouncing. The messenger shuddered.
"Why didn't you kill me, you selfish fellow?" When his enemies did not dare to attack him a third time, Geist roared.
"Stop, you ......" Ryan looked away. You're making things awkward. β
"Do you want me to beg?" Is that what you want?"
"If you make fun of it, it takes away my pleasure," Ryan said, feeling disgusting. "I'm totally in favor of euthanasia, but this one feels dirty."
"I've been waiting for fifteen years!" Geist's skull grumbles as it moves in the courier's field of vision, forcing Ryan to admit him. "I've been a ghost for fifteen years, and I can't move forward!" Can you imagine how boring it is to guard this toxic dump? No one has ever been here except for work!"
The discussion upset Ryan. "Listen, I know more about the evils of eternal life than you think," the courier said, struggling to find the right words. "But do you really want to die forever?" This is not a decision that can be taken lightly. β
If Ryan really wants to die, he'll let the ghost rest in peace on his perfect run. But when his violet elixir presents him with a similar conundrum, the Courier chooses life over death. He didn't want to make that choice unless the prankster-loving person was absolutely sure of his decision.
"Are you serious?" Geist snorted. "Do you want to be a ghost bound in one place, completely invisible?"
"I'm sure there's a way around that restriction," Ryan replied. "You gain amazing cosmic power from trading. If you want, you might be able to go head-to-head with Augustus. β
Geist was silent for a few seconds, but the messenger's words apparently didn't reach his ears. "What's the use of power if you can't enjoy life?" He asked. "I can't taste, I can't touch, I can't sleep, I can't dream. I can't have kids and I don't have enough games to fill my time. I can lift things up with my mind, but they don't feel warm. The world is cold to me, tincan. It's unbearable, half a life. β
On the ground, Ryan notices that Salin and Mr. Bo are lifting Ryan from under the sand. His former vice president listened intently to the discussion, probably because it hit the nail on the head.
"I've tasted heaven and peace, but I've been pulled back to earth," Geist said. "I died years ago, but I can't rest. All I could do was kill time. Unless you can bring me back to life?"
"It's beyond my ability at the moment," Ryan admitted. "But maybe in the future?"
"yes, maybe when the sun swallows the earth, I'll rot on this island. For years, I waited for Father Torque to find a solution, and "maybe" stayed in "maybe". "I'm going to try my luck. I've been a ghost for fifteen years, and these fifteen years are too long. β
Ryan was still hesitating, so Salin complained underground. "Kill him!" She said. "He's not strong enough to hold on, let him go."
"Do you want me to fight back?" Geist asked desperately. "Is this a must?" I don't want to go there, man, but I'll go if I need to. β
"Alright, alright, I'll do it!" Ryan said with great disappointment. He closed his eyes and clenched his fists, ready to continue. "Don't make a sound."
"Hallelujah," Geist replied, calmly waiting for the end. "Finally to heaven. Thank you. β
Ryan froze time once more, slamming the strange ghost with all his might. His blackened fist tore apart Geist's invisible body, and the black particles devoured ectoplasmic matter like stardust in a black hole.
When time returned, the blow split Geist's ghostly body in half. The substance of the golden skull seems to have lost its cohesion, and the snow melts into droplets in the warm sunlight. The ghost dissipated and his immortality was canceled. Below, Sarin unleashed a continuous shockwave at the castle, destroying the Barbican that Geist had repaired a few minutes earlier. Mr. Bo immediately entered the cave at the speed of light.
As he floats alone in the sky in solemn silence, Ryan remembers his brief stay in the Black World. The Time Traveler had prayed to end his immortality and find a way out of eternal existence...... God in the High agreed. It gives time travelers the ability to hurt invulnerable people, and kill those who don't die.
Even Ryan himself is no exception.
Finally, the president's best friend is the oil he extracts along the way.
Ryan would be happy to say that after Geist's collapse, the forces at Bliss Factory made an epic last-ditch effort to protect their drug batches. The Courier expects to waste at least an hour to capture the factory.
The whole process took 14 minutes.
The Shroud, which had infiltrated the fortress during the battle, had reached a terminal and hacked into the factory's systems. Based on the security code provided by Livia, he opened all the doors and disrupted external communications. Mr. Bo had only toured the factory at the speed of light, and he had piled up 200 unconscious guards before the others could enter.
"Ah, I thought you'd leave some for us," sarin complained.
"You can find a list of Mr. Bo's enemies in the 'Extinct Species' column," the man boasted, his tuxedo flawless. "Mr. Bo doesn't kill people, he destroys."
In the presence of such wisdom, Ryan felt like a student in front of a teacher.
They entered the corridors of the Aragonese Castle and headed for the Bliss Laboratory inside. In stark contrast to the ancient city walls outside, Augustus reinforced the interior with steel walls and blast doors. Salyn destroyed the Shroud that had not been opened for them.
Eventually, the group made their way to the heart of the factory, the production center of Bliss. Bacchus develops his beloved medicine in an underground warehouse beneath the fortress, and even Ryan finds the scale of the operation staggering. A huge glass garden is home to the plants that produce the raw material for this medicine, and these strange flowers have light blue petals and yellow stamens. A small group of workers in protective suits harvested the petals, and the plant regrew the missing parts in a matter of minutes.
After that, the petals are soaked in oil, left to dry, and turned into a blue powder mixed with other chemicals. The resulting material passes through an automated production line, where a small group of robotic arms fills Bliss into small jars and hypodermic syringes, filling a full box every hour. Judging by the number of assemblies, Ryan estimates that several tons of Bliss are produced per day. Hell, the plant's incinerator works around the clock to eliminate waste from the production process.
Most of the installations were automated, and Ryan had the few remaining workers stand at the torpedo point with their hands behind their heads. "What happened?" Ryan heard Vulcan's voice coming from his computer while the Shroud was typing on the keyboard. "I received an alert twenty minutes ago."
"Nothing, ma'am." Claude replied in a disguised voice. "The lunatics tried to raid the factory, but Geist and your security system drove them away"
"Of course," Vulcan scoffed on the other end of the phone, too proud of herself. "I told you it was a waste of time."
"Yes, ma'am. This is. βSh
Oud ended the conversation and looked up from his panel. "I've downloaded the production data and removed the camera footage. Let's burn the place. β
"Oh, yes." Sarin gas eagerly blew up the glass garden and the plants inside. The shock tore the alien flower in half, and the psychopath was soon transferred to the assembly line.
"Mr. Bo is very happy." His idol patted Ryan on the back and watched the devastation they saw. "He's worried that you're going to grow up the wrong way and that he's going to knock you down like an old yeller. But you have become a wise, wise man. β
"Thanks to your example." After saving Ryan so many times, Mr. Bo made a deep impression on him.
"What have you been up to all these years?" Mr. Bo asked. "Mr. Bo has approached you a few times, but you never seem to have been in one place for long."
"I conquered Monaco, won a town in a poker tournament, and got an alien to sign my Book of Death."
"Alright. In his case, Mr. Bo traveled to Tibet to explore the great mysteries of the universe. Did Mr. Bo create this world when he was born, or was this world created for Mr. Bo? Is it possible that the only gravitational pull is Mr. Bo's charisma?"
"How can you put up with this guy?" Shalin asked the Shroud in the sound of her shockwave.
"Only in small doses," the glass operator replied.
Mr. Bo understands. Prolonged exposure to Mr. Bo can lead to pathological desires for adoration, or near-death experiences. There is no middle ground. β
After destroying computer parts with his powers, Sh
"Don't sit idly by, there's something you can help with," Oud said. "Bacchus has a secret testing area...... You'll understand when you see it. β
Ryan complied, but he was terrified.
The Shroud took him and Bo deeper into the facility, into a secret room behind a cold metal hallway. The lights were dim and most of the place was pitch black. Ryan stepped in first, his footsteps echoing across the iron floor. He saw the iron rods flickering in the dim light, and his thermal sensors emitted more than thirty signals.
While his armor and helmet filtered the air, the stench of human filth flooded the air.
The livestock pens were small, and Ryan was sure they were used to raise pigs. They are stacked on top of each other like a game of Tetris, but the sight is not interesting at all. As his allies remained eerily silent, Ryan turned on his armor lamp and peered through the nearest iron fence.
Mankind.
The three of them shared a small cage, and they couldn't even stand up. They must have climbed in. The captives' veins and lips had turned blue from the overdose of Bliss, their skin so white and their flesh so thin that the messenger could see the bones beneath them. Two men and one woman. The cage hadn't been cleaned for a while, and feces were piling up in the corners.
Although Ryan has come full circle for centuries, he is not insensitive to such sights. His heart was filled with disgust as he looked at the captives, and even more so when he looked at the other cages and counted how many people were inside.
At the age of 23, he thought, stopped at a man whose eyes were devoured by a swarm of flies. One died.
"Does Nasinia know?" Ryan asked. "Does Vulcan know?"
"No, I don't think so." "Only Bacchus has access to that part of the lab."
The Mad Priest uses these people to test his experimental Strain of Bliss, destroying people's minds in a frantic attempt to get in touch with the Blue Ultimate. These are the latest batch of "volunteers", addicts who have been taken from the streets, or perhaps the enemies of Augustus who sacrificed to his terrible drug wizards.
How many people died here, their bodies thrown into the incinerator?
"The ......" Mr. Bo seemed to not know what to say, and he waved his hand at the prisoners. Their gaze did not follow his movements, their gaze was vacant. "I ...... Mr. Bo thinks someone has messed with their brains. β
Ryan had his helmet take pictures of the scene before tearing the nearest pen. His heavily armed hands opened the cage. The Shroud immediately grabbed the captive inside, a woman under the age of 20. Her skin was covered in blue mold, and the blood under her eyes had dried up.
Rya
Carrying two people on his back, he walked out of the scene and looked at the ruins of the production line. Flames have begun to spread and threaten to engulf the underground. Sarin had dismantled them all and supervised her work with a cheerful gesture, while Ryan evacuated the workers.
"Bianca? The messenger asked.
"What?" Shalin replied sharply.
"Once we're done evacuating, we're going to tear down the whole place," Ryan said, in a dangerous tone. "Bury it."
Ryan will personally destroy the factory in the perfect run.
Bacchus is inside.
