Chapter 3: Accustomed to a fearful gaze
Speaking of this, Tony Stark slapped his head, by the way, he has been missing for three months, and the outside world must have judged him to be a dead man, maybe the media has already released relevant news and registered Stark's identity information as dead.
"No, I need to make a phone call, get a car back to Stark Tower, I still have a lot of things to do."
"Thank you for the great meal, Carrot El, I remember the name, wait, I'll definitely come to you!"
Stark said as he looked at Carrot with a look expecting the phone to be handed to him, and he almost reached out his hand.
However, the person in front of him just shook the red wine glass lightly, unmoved.
Suddenly, Carrot Eyre's gaze deviated imperceptibly, as if he saw something outside through the layers of walls, and then slowly put down the wine glass, and said:
"If you can get out, you can go wherever you want."
Tony Stark blinked, stunned for a long time, didn't see Carrot El get up and take the phone at all, and shrugged:
"Well, thank you for the burger and the wine, and since you don't want to provide the phone, I'll go first."
Patting the dust on his body, Tony Stark walked to the door step by step with the mood of surviving the catastrophe.
This time he escaped death, and he really saw another side of this world.
Cruelty, darkness, blood, disorder, countless days of fear of death have transformed him into a whole new person.
Carrot watched him quietly until Stark pushed open the door...
A bright patch of golden yellow sand comes into view.
A hot wind blows in the sun.
A golden yellow that could not be seen made Tony Stark stunned in place at a loss.
"What's going on... Be... Am I not awake yet?? β
The day was dazzling, and what caught Stark's eyes was still the nightmarish yellow sand.
The scorching sand sea blows a raging heat wave, reaching a temperature of 40ΒΊ in the center of the desert, scorching all life and vegetation.
Tony Stark was stunned, his mouth wide open in amazement, he looked at the endless desert outside the house, his pupils full of disbelief written in shock.
He held out his hand tremblingly, until a stream of yellow sand blew down his face, and the nightmarish sun scorched the back of his hand again, and Tony Stark was so frightened that he took two steps back and slammed the door shut.
"Help, help, oh Shet, hell!"
"Why is it still a desert outside?"
Tony Stark's legs were trembling, and the nightmare of being kidnapped once again swept through his body, panic and trembling.
He looked back at Carrot Eyre, who was still eating, in a panic, and his shocked gaze continued to wander the world inside and outside the door.
"Fack!"
"Hallucinations?"
"Or... I'm already dead?? β
Stark cursed in disbelief, poofed, and collapsed to the ground, as if his heart was dead.
Carrot El looked at him with low eyebrows, picked up a tissue and wiped his hands, and asked lightly:
"Where do you think you are?"
Tony Stark swallowed, and his tone trembled rapidly: "This, isn't this New York?" β
Carrot Eyre swallowed a three-pound shelled osaurus in his mouth, then swallowed it with a grunt, and asked rhetorically:
"You fainted in the desert, how could you wake up and appear in New York, could it be that you teleported?"
Tony Stark's eyes widened, and he rubbed the corners of his eyes in disbelief, God, I'm dazzled, how did this guy eat that Australian lobster in one bite?
But then, Carrot's words were like a knife stuck in his chest.
He panicked and wanted to scream, but the ensuing horrific anxiety attack caused him to sit on the ground, gasping for air.
"Huh... Ha... Ha! β
Nightmare, isn't it over yet?
Yes, the nightmare has just begun!
"It's... It doesn't make sense. β
The brainstorming that originated from the depths of his mind was still running, and that special wisdom, as if it would not be controlled by emotions at all, also gave him the courage to resist the cold in the coldness of despair.
Stark stood up from the ground with a strong force, pushed open the door, wiped the corners of his mouth with a fluttering look, and said to Carrot:
"This building, your mansion, is impossible."
"It's all desert outside, it's all yellow sand at a depth of tens of meters, and there is not even a little bit of water and building materials for hundreds of kilometers around, how can you build it."
"Look at the luxury of this room, as well as laboratories and medical equipment, it will cost hundreds of millions of dollars in New York, right?"
"It simply doesn't make sense that such a mansion would appear in the depths of the desert!"
"And the news on TV, you deliberately put it to me, right?"
"Who are you? Why is it here? Want to gain my trust? β
A series of questions seeped out from a pair of eyes that seemed to be holding on to their sanity, but were actually filled with fear.
Carrot Eyre has seen this kind of gaze more than once in his life.
His existence is born to make people fearful, even if he pretends to be sunny and cheerful, even if his heart is harmless to people and animals, he is his sin, born with the original sin, and the sin is powerful.
Therefore, Carrot got used to this very early on, and the only people who saw him without fear at all were Dr. and Mrs. Britz, Bulma, and a few others, except for his adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kent.
"If that old guy from Pym knew I saved Tony Stark, he would probably faint."
Taking a sip of red wine, Carrot Eyre elegantly sliced the steak, the sharp blade shaving the plump and juicy meat off the bone as if it were unraveling, and then put it in his mouth, leaning back in his chair and chewing:
"What shall I say now?"
"Accurate judgment? Quick response? Or is it great wisdom? β
"Or, should I say Tony Stark?"
"It's not, it's nonsense, it's stupid for an eight-year-old child to see through the deliberate arrangement and abnormality at a casual glance, and it took you so long to realize."
The tone was cold and cold, but the mockery stinged like a knife, and Tony Stark's face froze, just when he thought that the people in front of him were in league with the Ten Commandments.
"It's a pity, Mr. Stark, that you don't have any other talent in this area."
Carrot Eyre calmly gestured in the direction of the gate:
"The question can be answered later, and now that the person who is looking for you is here, what are you going to do?"
Following Carrot's gaze, Tony Stark wondered and looked in the direction of the door.
Through the outline of the gate, deep in the yellow sand flying in the sky, where the vision was distorted by the blazing air waves, a group of heavily armed mercenaries slowly appeared, reflected at the end of the horizon.
