Section 4 Arrival

Fourth quarter arrived

Gruny's royal city, Eagle Falcon, is not a city with a long history.

As anyone who has read history knows, the Kingdom of Gruni is very different from the other six nations. Less than 100 years after the country was founded, the country has only gone through four kings, and it is still a long way from the adjective "long-standing". In fact, only a hundred years ago, there was no sign of unity in the land now known as the Kingdom of Gruni, and only small city-states were divided and warn against each other. The barbarians of the northern heath continued to invade (of course, it was far less intense than it is now), and Tiberius, a powerful neighbor in the south, was eyeing it. Few would have imagined that this place could unite into a single kingdom.

But fate is so elusive. In this land, a young king of a small kingdom — more of an earldom than a country — stumbles upon someone who changes everything. A man named Garunas, whose origin, origin, family, etc., are unknown, and even if there is, they are all wild historical legends that are scorned by orthodox historians. But he was later called the "Sage of the Wilderness". Today, there are many poems, legends, plays, dances, and so on that feature the likes of a wise monarch meeting a genius strategist to construct a legendary epic. There is no doubt that these stories are based on this real historical event.

Over the course of a generation, or about twenty years to be specific, Garunas proved to the world what it means to be magnificent. With Garunas's incredible talents, this insignificant little nation rose to prominence, conquering and annexing all the power of the land. Gruni crushed the barbarian invasions to the north and eventually built the famous White Castle, which established the northern territory of the Central Seven Kingdoms. To the south, Tiberius broke his head, making Tiberius, who was originally eyeing him, completely give up his ambition of expansion.

The city of Eagle Falcon was built when Gruni was just starting to be founded. The main reason for the new royal city was that there was no suitable city in the land to serve as the capital of the new country. In the end, Garunas personally supervised the construction of today's Eagle Falcon City on the land on the banks of the Lunqing River. The name is due to the white eagle on the flag of the Gruni royal family, and the irregular shape of the city, which looks a bit like an eagle when viewed from a high vantage point.

The design of the city of Garunas has not been traced to this day. No one understood what he was trying to do to build a strangely shaped city. According to today's popular view, he undoubtedly referred to the construction techniques of the elves and dwarves, and made the most of the direction of the entire terrain. But everyone who knows anything about the city knows that in the hundreds of years since the city was founded, the city has never been rebuilt and expanded, despite its rapid development. And that's kind of incredible. Because of this, while some still question Garunas's idea of building the city, even the harshest critics admit that there is some truth to his design.

At this moment, Eagle Falcon City is already in sight.

From a distance, the city looks a bit grey and unremarkable. However, this has nothing to do with the architectural level of the city, the key lies in the stone of the building. Like most cities in this world, the building materials of Eagle Falcon City were dug from nearby, and it was a solid bluestone. Of course, there is no problem with this kind of stone to build the city wall, but the color is inconspicuous. Coupled with the passage of a hundred years, bluestone has now turned into gray stone.

Ashruphat looked ahead, reminiscing in his heart about the current state of the city. Faced with the urgency of the fall of the White Castle a few years earlier under the attack of the barbarian army, and the death of the first king and the crown prince (not even the body was recovered), the noble ministers immediately embraced the king's only bloodline, a princess named Luvia, to ascend the throne and be regent by the minister. It was this disposition that temporarily settled the whole country. Immediately, Gruni relied on the support of reinforcements from the same circle of gods in the Star Field, and successfully repelled the barbarian invasion.

In terms of national strength alone, although this defeat is painful, it is far from a life-and-death crisis. But in politics, things are completely different. As expected, the young queen was completely incapable of controlling the country, and the noble ministers were immediately engulfed in fierce infighting as soon as the crisis was over, causing chaos in the country's political arena.

Of course, none of this has anything to do with him. What Ashrufat had to do was to act as the little queen's guard for a year, according to Aunt Mary's arrangement—the kind of personal bodyguard. Such a position is naturally a shrimp that can't be smaller, and no matter how much the situation changes, it can't change on his head. His job was to stop the Assassins, though Ashrufat was suspicious that any Assassin would be able to do so.

"We've arrived. Ah Jin also looked at the city ahead with thoughtful eyes.

The carriage quickly drove into the densely populated area. Like all the big cities in this world, the outskirts of Eagle City have a number of satellite towns that rely on the main city, and even a few towns that have built independent walls.

"Ashrufat, I'm going to get out of the car first. Ah Jin said suddenly.

"Ah, didn't the carriage take us directly into the Eagle Falcon City?" Ashrufat didn't expect Ah Jin to get off at this place.

"The first step in doing business is to understand the entire market. This is the basis of everything, you have to do it yourself to get first-hand information, and you must not entrust it to others. Ah Jin replied. "Don't look at the suburbs of the city, if you want to talk about the population, in fact, most of the people don't live in the royal city, but on the outskirts of the city. There are very different markets in the suburbs and in the city. ”

It was the first time that Ashrufat had heard such a statement. "What kind of difference?"

"In the city, there are generally nobles and rich people...... The lowest is also the residence of the middle class. If you compare this market to farmland, it's a very fertile land. The outskirts of the city, although it seems to be crowded, are actually dominated by commoners and peasants who have no money, and it is just a barren land. ”

"Logically, isn't fertile land more deserving of more attention and energy?"

"The problem is that there are already a large number of people piled up on this fertile land. It's not easy to get a piece of this fertile land. On the other hand, the suburbs have low purchasing power, but they are a market that not many people care about. As an outsider, you have to do what you can, and the market in the city is not yet a place that I can touch, and it is pragmatic to take the suburban market as a starting point and stepping stone. See you again, Ashrufat. ”

After saying this, Ah Jin got out of the carriage and removed from under the seat of the carriage to salute.

"See you again. Ashrufat said. At this time, the coachman showed half of his face from the small window. "Sir, don't you think you should check your luggage?"

"Ah, for what?"

"When parting with a companion you met on a journey, it's a must to check the salute. Especially since you've been together for a long time. A kind reminder from the coachman.

Ashrufat laughed. A person like Ah Jin, if there is a chance to abduct others, then he will never let it go. If they met in the shop one day, Akin might have sold him something that was worth only three silver coins for ten gold Ori, Ashrufat had no doubt about it. But if you want to steal, it is simply a personal insult to Ah Jin.

The carriage quickly drove into the gray walls. After turning left and right, you will come to the entrance of a rather large building.

"Sir, here we are. The coachman reminded.

Ashrufat jumped out of the carriage with his luggage. When I looked up, I saw the first row of neat stables, many horses grazing and drinking in the stables, and a neighing could be heard from time to time.

"Sir, if you don't have a place to stay, why don't ......you just stay here?"

"No, thank you. Ashrufat replied. This choice is entirely due to the conceptual indoctrination that Ah Jin has instilled in him during this time - any kind of shop that you encounter when you get off the bus is guaranteed to be the blackest. Because they are the first choice for travelers, they are the choice in an environment where there are no other contrasts. People will make this choice in this situation, so they will be slaughtered very harshly.

"Sir, we not only have room and board, but also a variety of services here...... "The other party still did not give up.

Ashrufat shook his hand and motioned for the other party not to say anything more. He stood there and began to take a look at his surroundings. When he was outside the city, he could only see a gray behemoth, but if he stood inside the city and observed, he would feel that the city was well built, with a sense of compactness and compactness, but it would not give people the feeling of crowding. Whatever the exterior of the city is, at least its interior is very good. Moreover, Ashruphat could feel that if the population of the city increased further one day, more buildings would need to be built, and there would be no need to expand outward. There's still some room for expansion within the city – even more if the old houses can be demolished.

Ashruphat looked around, he was now sure that he had definitely been here for the first time. If nothing else, when he was outside the city, he had no impression of the huge gray walls. Now that he has entered the city, he can surely see the pattern of the whole city, or the style of the overall architecture, for the first time.

Has it finally arrived? Ashrufat strode out of the post station. This is the first time he has taken a mail car, and he thinks this way of traveling is not bad. However, the reason why Ashrufat chose the mail car was not because it was convenient and cost-effective, but because Aunt Mary repeatedly stressed that he should keep a low profile before leaving. Eagle Falcon City is not a peaceful place like Brasian, and a fat sheep is sure to attract the covetousness of hungry wolves. Even if you are not a fat sheep or a fat lion, then there will still be blood-sucking mosquitoes to patronize you.

He looked at the time, and it was still very early before dark. So now he had two options, the first option was to go to the palace with his aunt's letter of introduction and find a court director named Skadra, who was also a member of the Griffin family. The second option is to find a place to live first, recharge your batteries, and then go back to him tomorrow.
