Chapter 18: The Mysterious Fellow
Rogers didn't bother with Alina's questioning, shrugged his shoulders slightly, and didn't reply.
He looked along the gray marble paved road beneath his feet, taking in the landscape of St. Helte ahead.
When he played the game, he had already memorized the map here, but when he was actually in it, he had a different kind of emotion.
"He won't really ......" Alina frowned slightly when she saw Rogers' lazy response, and she suddenly had a premonition in her heart that did not match her previous judgment - this guy should not really be able to do it.
During the trial in front of the door, the afterglow of Rogers's recitation of Proverbs still came to her mind from time to time.
At first, she thought that Rogers had just read the words and phrases from some ancient book by mistake, and then happened to use them to solve the puzzles given by the trial.
But could the Gate of St. Herte really have such a grand vision because of the act of being born by such a coincidence?
Alina wanted to ask Rogers this question before she stepped onto campus, but after asking Rogus questions in the past, the unbearable memories of being teased and teasing hit her, and she forced the urge to ask questions in her throat.
At this time, she looked at Rogess, and although the other party was watching the scenery of St. Herte like most of the students around her, there was more indescribable things in those eyes.
It seems to be reminiscing, and it seems to be searching purposefully, but with a novelty that is no different from that of a new student who has just entered St. Herte.
Such a complicated expression was magically kneaded together.
As time passed, Alina not only did not get any answers to the mysteries from Rogers, but instead spied on more and more puzzles, as if she was about to develop some kind of obsession in her heart.
Suddenly, Rogers felt his hairs stand on end, and he turned his head to look at the source of this ominous feeling, only to see Alina staring intently at him with a gaze that he was unusually familiar with, and more intense than usual.
"I warn you, there's no fog of trials here, and we're all inside the school." Rogers tensed as he spoke, and slowly leaned behind Rufia, already thinking of a defensive countermeasure.
The corners of Lufia's eyes twitched slightly when she heard this, her lips pursed and she stood between the two friends silently, she didn't understand why the two who were still in harmony just now seemed to be about to break out "conflict" again.
Alina snorted at this, and at that's it, she reached out and took Rufia's arm, and turned to talk to her about her plans for the future in St. Herte.
"Thankfully, she still knows what decency is." Rogers breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the other man's reaction.
Just as the three of them were balancing the delicate balance, Caspar walked over abruptly.
He bowed to Rufia's chest, his eyes filled with determination and concern, and he spoke his advice with great sincerity:
"Your Highness Rufia, I stand before you, guided by the morality of knighthood, as your most loyal boy knight ever and your most sincere friend, and I beg you to stay away from Rogus Breed!
"Bad friends will corrupt good habits, and Rutgers's sinister nature is likely to gradually erode your good qualities!"
Caspar's already loud voice quickly attracted the attention of everyone around him, and the atmosphere became eerie for a while.
Ever since that-for-tat confrontation with Rogers at the Stargazing Observatory, Caspar has been rejected by Prince Rayleid.
When the prince went up to the tower again to see Rutgers, he directly ordered his identity to be dismissed!
This is definitely Rutgers's shameful slander against the prince, which made him suffer such a humiliating treatment!
Caspar has been fantasizing about returning this shame several times over the past month.
He thought that Rogers's bad reputation would definitely make him spurned and targeted by his classmates in St. Herte, and he could even unite everyone to give this damn guy the punishment he deserved.
However, not only did Rogus not receive the treatment he deserved, but he was still so close to Rufia that he could no longer bear the anger in his heart.
"Caspar, have you ever seen Rogus do evil?"
Rufia asked back with a little irritation, it wasn't the first time she had heard someone say that.
She had witnessed the beginning of all the rumors in the Scarlo market, and the saint at that time had no objection to Rogess, but the saint's brother showed a very worried expression after injuring Rogus.
For more than a month, Rogers has not only patiently taught her chess every day, but also told her some beautiful fairy tales that she had never heard of from time to time.
The two get along with each other, which can make her sure how ridiculous those rumors from the outside world are.
"Her Highness Rufia......"
Caspar opened his mouth to speak, but another unexpected voice interrupted him.
"Is it your chivalric morality to disregard etiquette in front of your classmates and humiliate the person who has just given you a favor with vile gossip?" Delik, who had a fierce face, stepped forward and cheered for Rogers.
Rogers gave him a surprised look and a grateful look.
Then he watched Caspar's performance with interest, as if he were watching a clown in a burlesque show.
To be honest, this bear kid is a bit annoying, but he can pass the boring waiting time a little.
Caspar clenched his fists, looking at the approaching Derick and his fierce and cruel eyes, he couldn't help but retreat a little.
"I hope you haven't forgotten what I said, after being promoted to bronze, I see what excuses you can have."
He gritted his teeth and said a harsh word to Rogers, and turned away in a huff in the eyes of everyone.
"What's that? Green shooting stars?! ”
Among the crowd of onlookers eating melons, someone suddenly pointed to the sky and shouted.
Rogers also looked up, only to see an emerald green light arcing towards them from the sky, and in the blink of an eye, it fell in front of everyone.
When the light cleared, an old man with a brownish-gray glow appeared.
He wore an old cloak and carried an oak staff taller than him.
What attracted everyone's attention the most was the pair of magnificent and delicate antlers towering above the old man's head.
They are thick and twisty, covered with emerald green vines that twiltly entangle between the antlers to create a vibrant picture.
"My name is Idrul, and I'm the professor who brought you to the exam room, and I'm the proctor for your entrance test."
Idrul tried to use his most amicable tone and introduced himself to the freshmen with a smile on his face.
Many of the professors at St. Helte did not expect the trial to end so quickly, and they were even more excited to see Rogers' performance, and finally they had a dispute over who would act as the receptionist for the freshmen.
It took a long time for the professors to choose Idrull, which led to the situation that made Rutgers wait so long.
After Idrul finished speaking, he swept Rogus with a "kind" look from time to time, causing the latter to feel a chill of skin trembling inexplicably.
