Chapter 23: Lumos

"The train arrives at Hogwarts in five minutes, so please leave your luggage in the carriage and someone will take your luggage to the school."

A female voice echoed through the carriage, and Hallie poked her head out curiously to look out of the box, where the aisle was empty.

"It's magic."

Kassandra maintained her pride and said:

"The voice sounds like the salesman from before, she's a powerful wizard, just like I thought."

"But you said she was a squib before."

Harley muttered, she didn't deliberately lower her voice, which made Kassandra's face blush slightly.

Harley asked, a little worried:

"Could they have sent our gifts in the wrong place?"

"Of course not."

Kassandra scoffed unceremoniously:

"We all have names written on them, do you think the people at Hogwarts are fools? How could it be sent wrong! ”

Their suitcases were all purchased in Diagon Alley, and they were one of the few personal items that had been specially approved by the Ministry of Magic to use the Traceless Stretch Charm, and could hold a lot of things. However, the sale of such suitcases is also strictly restricted, and only Hogwarts students can purchase them with an acceptance letter.

So when buying, these boxes will be written with the initials of the owner's name.

For example, the initials of Hallie's name are 'H· P', Kassandra 'C.M', and Hermione's 'H· G', Ash's 'A· B’。

"But I don't have a name written on it." Hallie whispered:

"Can't I take her with me?"

She looked at her cage, where the snow-white owl was sleeping soundly with its head buried under its wings.

It was Hedwig, and Hallie had given her the name she had been given to her by Professor Snape for her birthday—though Harley had always thought that Hedwig had given her a gift.

Kassandra hugged her chest and said dissatisfied:

"Are you stupid? That's just an owl! Do you think Hermione and I are going to grab an owl? ”

Hermione proposed:

"You can put the cage on the suitcase so they will know who Hedwig really is."

"Okay." Hallie lowered her head in frustration, it seemed that she couldn't take Hedwig.

Ash looked at the two people who were just arguing, and reminded:

"You can stay with you, but remember to bring your wand."

Kassandra waved her wand lightly and said proudly:

"A wand is a wizard's second life, and I always carry it with me."

"Woo——!"

With the sound of a melodious whistle, the train began to slow down.

Harley leaned against the window, faintly glimpsing the dimly lit village ahead.

"Ash, is that Hogwarts?" She asked curiously.

Ash stood beside the girl, looked at the village that was getting closer and closer, and said softly:

"Hogsmeade, the only village in England where all wizards and Muggles are gone."

"But we're going to Hogsmeade Station, which leads to Hogwarts on one side and Hogsmeade on the other."

He opened the window, pointed to the brightly lit castle on the other side in the mountains, and said in a brisk tone:

"That's Hogwarts."

Harley looked curiously in the direction Ash was pointing, but before she could take a closer look, the train had already entered the platform in a cacophony of friction.

"Let's get out of the car first."

Ash touched Harry's head and smiled, "We'll take a boat to Hogwarts later, and you can see better from the boat." ”

Before leaving the box, Ash took out a pair of half-rimmed glasses from his pocket and put them on the bridge of his nose, looking like a learned scholar.

Woo~!

Another whistle sounded, and the train came to a steady stop at Hogsmeade Station.

A small, dark platform, with only a few low-rise old houses - exactly the same as it was a hundred years ago, unchanged at all.

Ash wasn't surprised by this, as he had long been aware of the rigidity of the wizarding world, and was keenly aware of its presence in every aspect.

"It's a little cold." The howling cold wind made Harley shiver, and subconsciously learned Hermione to wrap her robe tightly.

Kassandra also shuddered, but her mouth was not forgiving at all:

"Can't you stand this? Halle. ”

September nights shouldn't be like this, but this is the Scottish Highlands.

Not only is the altitude high, the latitude is also high, and there is a large lake nearby, which is full of buffs.

It has to be said that the founder of Hogwarts will choose the location.

"Alright, first-year freshman, come to me! First-year students! ”

The three-meter-tall, hairy giant stood beside the train and shouted, carrying a dim lamp:

"Don't be shy, first-year freshman, please get off the train quickly, the train will leave soon!"

Hagrid saw the girl in the crowd, and with a smile on his face, he asked:

"Hey Hallie, how are you doing during the summer vacation?"

"Thanks, Hagrid, I'm fine." Hallie smiled, waved at him, and introduced to Kassandra and Hermione, who were beside her:

"He's Hagrid, it's Kassandra, Hermione."

"I know him." Kassandra still looked haughty.

"Hello, Hagrid." Hermione whispered hello.

Hagrid's height of more than three meters still has a strong impact on her.

Hagrid smiled back, though barely visible in the dim light and under the cover of his bushy beard.

"Okay, first-year freshmen, are they all here?"

"Kids, see if anyone isn't there?"

Hagrid waited another two minutes, asking loudly several times to make sure no one was left behind, before leaving the station with them.

"Alright, kids, remember to see the steps under your feet and be careful of falling."

His reminder was justified, as it was followed by a narrow, steep stone staircase that meandered down to the ground, and if you weren't careful, you could fall.

Everyone else followed Hagrid, afraid of losing the only mobile light source.

But the four of them remained where they were, and none of them liked to huddle with the crowd.

Hallie and Hermione simply don't like the crowd, while Kassandra dismisses it.

"It's dark." Hallie whispered.

Although there were a few light fixtures installed on the handrails, the dim glow only illuminated a small part of the area, and most of the rest, including the sides of the stone staircase, was so dark that it was impossible to see what was inside.

"I always feel like there's a snake in there." Hermione was a little nervous.

"Snakes?" Hallie blinked, she didn't think there was anything scary about snakes, snakes were much cuter than frogs.

"Don't worry, follow me." Ash reassured, then took out his wand:

"Lumos (fluorescent flash)!"

The tip of the wand emits a bright glow that illuminates the entire surrounding area.

Whether it is the dim ground or the trees hidden in the darkness on either side, there is nothing to hide under this light.

Harley and Hermione's eyes lit up, and the wand released a much brighter light than the lamp in Hagrid's hand.

“Lumos!” Not to be outdone, Kassandra immediately took out her wand as well, allowing the tip to glow.

It's a lot weaker, but it can also illuminate the road next to it.

Kassandra's expression was extremely proud, it was just basic magic, she had already learned it at home!

Ash gently took Hallie's little hand and admonished:

"Kassandra, you hold Hermione, be careful."

Halli's face flushed slightly, but Kassandra muttered with an unhappy face:

"What, still holding hands? She's not a child! ”

Despite her complaints, she took Hermione's hand.

She regretted it, she knew she shouldn't have used magic!
