Chapter 76: There Is Only One Truth
"Follow me!"
Ash whispered, and led Harley and Kassandra through the deserted hallway, avoiding the professors who were coming from the other side, all the way to the marble staircase area.
Under the gaze of numerous portraits, they made their way up the stairs to the eighth floor.
Harley reminded in a whisper:
"She's not in the Astronomy Tower, we've looked for her several times."
"I know." Ash responded, leading the two to a deserted hallway.
One side of the corridor is blank and unadorned, while on the other side hangs a large tapestry with the famous painting "Trolls Beat Silly Barnabas", in which several trolls form a circle and use wooden sticks to hang the middle Barnabas into a meat filling.
Kassandra had seen the tapestry before and thought it was absurd and funny, but now she felt only horror.
If it weren't for Ash and Hallie arriving in time, she was afraid that she would have ended up with Barnabas. While terrified, thinking of Ash and Hallie risking their lives to save herself, Kassandra pursed her lips, and some different emotions inevitably occurred in her heart.
But what are they doing here?
Kassandra turned her inquiring gaze to Harley, and Harley's emerald eyes were full of puzzlement.
They only saw Ash pacing back and forth on the blank wall opposite the tapestry, and for some reason, they suddenly saw a very smooth door on the otherwise empty wall.
"Ahh
"What is this place?"
Hallie and Kassandra watched in amazement, they never knew there was a hidden door!
Ash looked at the door that was gradually emerging on the wall, and he almost had the answer in his heart.
The only areas in Hogwarts that he couldn't sense were the common rooms and the Room of Requirement.
If Hermione wasn't in Gryffindor's common room, she could only be in the Room of Requirement.
“Revelio!”
Ash waved his wand again, checked the status of the professors, and found that they were still in the women's bathroom on the first floor, and said softly:
"Elbow, follow me into the house."
Ash grabbed the brass handle and opened the door, leading the way into the room.
Out of trust in Ash, Harley and Kassandra walked through the door.
Immediately after, they emerge from the castle of Hogwarts in a 'city'. As far as the eye can see, books, shelves, broken furniture, glass bottles, gems, cages, and all sorts of strange objects form a wall that makes the city feel like a labyrinth.
“Revelio!”
Ash waved his wand, allowing invisible magic to penetrate these walls in search of his target.
Kassandra asked in a whisper:
"Ash, is Hermione really here?"
"Yes." Ash replied in the affirmative.
His gaze pierced through the complex labyrinth of layers and saw a blue figure curled up on the ground.
Ash sighed, he could almost imagine what had happened—
Hermione was ostracized by the Gryffindors and just wanted to find a place to hide, only to stumble into the Room of Need. At first, perhaps out of curiosity, Hermione wanted to explore the labyrinth.
Then, there is no then.
Hermione had explored too deeply, and she couldn't find her way out and was stranded here.
Ash asked:
"Which of you stays here? I need someone to point us in the right direction when we get lost. ”
"I'll stay." Harley hesitated for a moment, then took the initiative.
"Okay."
Ash nodded, led Kassandra into the labyrinth, and finally came to the area where the highlighted target was.
Then he found that things were even more troublesome than he had imagined, and the walls of the dilapidated furniture in front of them had collapsed, creating a barrier much higher than that of the trolls, blocking the road in front of them completely.
"Hermione! Are you in there? Kassandra shouted.
"Kassandra! Is that you, Kassandra? ”
From behind the wall came the girl's weak and surprised voice.
Kassandra asked, somewhat incredulously:
"How did you end up in here?"
Hermione, who had been curled up on the ground due to pain and hunger, got up with difficulty and said aggrievedly:
"I don't know, I just came over and the wall suddenly collapsed, and then I couldn't get out......"
Kassandra subconsciously turned her gaze to Ash for help:
"Ash, what are we going to do?"
Ash waved his wand and pointed at the road in front of him, which was blocked by dilapidated furniture, and said:
"Evanesco (vanished)!"
Burst!
The 'wall' in front of them disappeared suddenly, and the road that had been blocked suddenly opened up.
"Ash." Hermione, who was covered in dust from her cloak and clothes, leaned against the wall and looked at the two of them in surprise.
"Hermione!"
Kassandra grimaced and exasperated, "Do you know how worried we are about you? Just because you were ostracized by the Gryffindor idiots, even we hid together, and Harley and I looked for you all day! Didn't even eat lunch! ”
"I'm sorry ......"
Hermione pursed her lips and lowered her head with some guilt and grievance.
She leaned against the wall and staggered back abruptly.
Kassandra suddenly saw that something was wrong, and hurriedly stepped forward to hold Hermione's arm, worried:
"Are you hurt? Why didn't you say it earlier? ”
Hermione whispered:
"It's okay, I just accidentally fell ......"
Ash squatted down and reached out to touch the girl's right leg and ankle, but it was only a light touch, but Hermione was already crying out in pain, and her teary eyes were distressing.
"It's broken, and it's serious."
Ai Xu frowned, and said in a deep voice:
"Did you fall off the wall while you were climbing it? Hermione, don't lie to me! ”
Hermione pursed her lips and said weakly, "I thought I could get out on my own." ”
"You ......"
Kassandra was furious, glaring at Hermione with an expression of hatred.
Ash took out a green bottle of invigorating potion from his pocket, uncorked it and put it to the girl's mouth, and commanded:
"Drink it."
Hermione obediently opened her rosy mouth and let Ash pour the potion in.
"Hmm~!"
Hermione screamed in pain, unable to stand on her own, and even Kassandra, who was holding her, was nearly pushed to the ground.
Fortunately, Ash had expected it, and while holding Kassandra steady, she held Hermione in her arms.
The girl's face turned pale, her lips trembled uncontrollably, and she let out a moan of pain.
Ash whispered reassuringly:
"Bear with it, it's normal to have pain."
Energizing potions can heal, but they don't eliminate pain.
How can it be so easy to grow better when the bone is broken? How can it not hurt?
Although Ash could also use magic to temporarily block Hermione's consciousness or even knock her unconscious, Ash wanted her to remember today's lesson.
"Let's get out of here first."
Ash took Hermione by the hand and said to Kassandra:
"Kassandra, you lead the way, remember the way you came?"
"No problem!" Kassandra took a deep breath and walked ahead without hesitation.
Ash followed, her right hand running through the crook of the girl's legs, holding Hermione in her arms in the manner of a princess. The latter's face turned pale, and his small hands clutched the clothes on Ash's chest, trying to relieve the pain in this way, though it had no obvious effect.
