Chapter 22: The Troubles of Old Bogin
"You're Boginbock?" Muen looked at the man in the shadows.
The man nodded, walked out of the alley, and first bowed slightly to Mu En: "Sir, please believe me, I didn't expect Mondigus to do such a thing as blackmail at first.
I am looking for you because I want some help from you. But it's not a good place to speak. If you don't mind, can you move to my store? β
Mu En looked around and nodded.
After getting Munn's permission, Boginbock also drew his wand and pointed it at Mundungus: "Let's go." β
Mundungus wanted to cry without tears, so he could only quickly climb up against the wall, whimpering and nodding one after another.
The Burkinbock store was diagonally across the street from where they stood, not far from the alleyway, and the walls were somewhat out of color, and about a third of the room had apparently been renovated.
Inside, you can see the whole store, spacious and dim, with a few candles hanging on the walls, burning and releasing a calming smoke.
Muen also noticed that there was some space on the side of the newly renovated wall, and it was clear that not enough merchandise had been placed.
"That's the ripple you caused when you cast the Indifference Spell earlier." Boginbock explained.
However, there was no anger in his tone about the matter, just a very calm statement of the facts to Muen.
Borgin didn't want to say much about it, he was lucky that only some of the things on display in the exhibition hall were swept away by that horrible spell.
None of those things are precious, and there is not much loss.
The shop in front of him, which specializes in making all kinds of poisonous candles, was destroyed, and almost all the people were gone, so the loss was great.
"So what are you going to say to me? I have limited time. Mu En looked at Boginbock's goods with interest
On the mat in a glass case next to it, there was a withered human hand and a stack of bloodstained cards. There are also hideous masks looking down from the walls, various human bones on the counters, and rusty, toothy instruments hanging from the ceiling.
None of these goods are so "friendly" that you can never see them in Diagon Alley.
Mu En picked up the blood-stained deck of cards and unfolded it, it was a tarot deck, and the back of the card was a star map drawn in gold and silver.
"Please wait a moment." Boginbock said as he stood in front of Mundungus, and under the other's terrified gaze, he drew his wand and placed it on his temple.
"Memory separation!!"
A low chanting sounded, a faint silver glow bloomed from the tip of Boginbock's wand, and Mondongues' expression suddenly became dazed.
Then, Boginbock gently withdrew his wand, dragging a strand of silver out of it.
He took out another vial, which was overflowing with streams, apparently containing many of these silver threads.
After Boginbock had put the silver wire he had pulled from Mundungus into the bottle, he patted the other man's face.
Mundungus's face suddenly had some light, and he looked at the person in front of him in surprise: "Bogin... Sir, why am I here?! β
"You can go." Boginbock clearly didn't want to say anything more to him.
Mundungus was dizzy, apparently not fully awake yet. But at this time, as if he had been enchanted with ecstasy, he nodded blankly, and then turned around and left here.
Mu En leaned on the counter, a little curious: "Memory spells? β
Boginbork was stunned for a moment, he didn't expect that the person in front of him who could get out of the killing curse would actually have such doubts.
Is this reasonable??
He held up the bottle and introduced to Muen, "This contains all the memories of the witnesses of the day about you. β
"Are you going to threaten me with it?" Mu En cut the card with one hand and looked at Bo Jin curiously.
Boginbock immediately shook his head, with a hint of businessman's flattery on his face: "No, no, no, I think you misunderstood, this is a gift." β
"Gifts?" Mu En looked at him.
"Yes." Boginbock nodded.
"So these are the memories of the bystanders at the time, and you pulled them all out, before the Ministry of Magic arrived?" Mu En looked at the memory bottle.
"It's just that those wine bags and rice bags of the Ministry of Magic are too inefficient, so I have a chance to take advantage of it, and it's not a difficult thing." Boginbock didn't dare to hold it up, and said with his head bowed.
Muen drew a tarot card and flipped over the board.
γXVIIIγ
γThe Moonγ
"I'm not a wish-granting god of lights." Munn looked at the Moon card, spread it out on the table, and then at the little Arcana card.
"I just wanted to ask you for some help." Boginbock said quickly.
Mu En spread out the cards in turn and drew them.
However, he did not rush to open it, but waited for the next step from Boginbock.
Boginbork watched Mu En's movements, and scratched the wrinkled skin on his face with some nervousness: "I think you can also see that I am a small businessman who has been dealing with black magic for a long time.
Many years ago, I was cursed on the soul level by accidentally touching an ancient dark magic object. You can resist the Killing Curse, and you must know souls well, so..."
Mu En slowly flipped over the cards, clenching a long sword in one hand.
γSword Oneγ
Boginbock has a solemn look, and this card usually represents misfortune and death.
"Looks like I'm lucky." Mu En said with a smile.
He then put the cards away and said, "The meaning of the cards in tarot divination is ever-changing, and everyone will understand and form their own card meanings according to their own meditation methods, associations, deductions, etc. β
Muen's words made Bokinbock even more nervous, and in this way, it meant that this man must have had a very deep study of the doctrine of divination.
"So my interpretation of tarot is generally rough. Normally, when I say lucky, it must be lucky.
If I say misfortune, then I will definitely make him unlucky. β
After speaking, meeting Boginbock's gaze, Mu En held up the moon card again.
"I think something happier is going to happen today, don't you think?!"
"Of course!!" Bojin Bock broke out in a cold sweat, and hurriedly bowed down and said: "As long as you are willing to help me, even if it is just a little bit of a mention, I am willing to pay a good reward." β
"Tell me about your curse." Mu En felt the breath on Boginbock's body, and always felt a hint of familiarity.
As if in the Caribbean, he encountered...
Boginbock then began to explain the curse he had encountered.
It was an item he had recovered more than forty years ago from a man from a down-and-out family in France. It is reported that the item came from the family's decision to relocate in response to the new regulations of the Wizarding Secrecy Act.
At that time, Grindelwald had just fallen, and the entire wizarding world was very jealous of the wizarding secrecy law, and the consequences of violating it were extremely punishable. No one wants to touch this brow.
Later, on a small island in the English Channel, where they settled, they clashed with the local merfolk tribe over the island's inner lake.
And this is a certain violation of the local magical creature protection treaty. So at that time, in order to evade the trace, the family smuggled all the items seized from the mermaid tribe to him.
That's when the curse came along.
Because of one of the ancient gold disc pendants, Boginbock was cursed and turned into a living dead who could not be sensed by the flesh, and could not even die, even if it was a severed head, it could be easily taken back...
Muen was flipping through a manuscript of ancient Greek magic from Boginbock's collection. Listening to Boginbock's narration, it feels more and more familiar.
"Will it turn into a skeleton in the moonlight??" Mu En interrupted him suddenly.
Boginbock looked at Muen in shock, and his face gradually changed from disbelief to irrepressible excitement.
"That's right, you know! You know my curse!! β
Mu En was also a little surprised, this curse...
Yes, he knew, and knew better.
Even when he was in the Caribbean, he had a strong curiosity about magic at the time, and he took the initiative to come into contact with this curse.
Jingle Bell β
The hanging bell behind the door of the store suddenly rang.
A man with a pale, pointed face, long blond hair falling straight to the back of his head, and a black woolen coat walked in with a staff of civilization.
He held his head high, glanced Mu En up and down with gray indifferent eyes, and then said, "Mr. Bojin, it seems that you are a little busy?!" β
