Chapter 2 Treating the Disease of Self-Failure – "Excuse Syndrome"

The object of this chapter is people.

We're going to look at humanity carefully.

Discover and apply the driving forces that make you successful in your life.

If you're dedicated to psychology, I'm guessing you'd like to start studying humans right away.

Delve deeper into human beings, and you will find that all those who fail frequently and unsuccessfully suffer from a numbing thought disease - "excuse syndrome".

With every failure, people suffer from different forms of excuse disorder.

It can be said that almost all ordinary people suffer from this disease to a greater or lesser extent.

You'll also find that "excuse syndrome" can explain why some people are constantly changing environments, while others prefer to stick to their own turf.

You will find that the more successful people are, the less they make any excuses for themselves.

Anyone who hasn't been anywhere and doesn't plan to go anywhere can explain to you why they won't go.

Those with mediocre grades are quick to explain why they don't have and why they can't achieve good results.

Let's take a look at the lives of successful people, and you'll find:

All the reasons that mediocrity talk about are untenable.

As far as I know, all successful politicians, businessmen, military officers, experts, or any other leader in their field will not look for reasons to fall behind.

Roosevelt's excuse may have been a mutilated leg;

Jack Ma's excuse may be that he has not been educated in IT;

Beethoven's excuse may have been that he was blind;

Dong Mingzhu's excuse may be that she is a woman.

As with other diseases, if left untreated, the "excuse syndrome" will gradually worsen.

The process of spiritual development of the patient with this thought disorder is as follows:

I didn't do what I was supposed to do, why should I have an excuse? Because you're afraid of losing face?

Not feeling well?

Lack of education?

Too old?

Too young?

Bad tone?

Wife's opposition?

The way the family raised me and more?

Once the patient finds the appropriate excuse, he will hold on to it.

He then relies on this excuse to explain to himself or others why he can't improve.

When everyone is making excuses, the excuses are deeply ingrained in his subconscious.

Regardless of whether it is a positive or negative thought, as long as the cells go through repeated diseases, they will grow.

At first, the patient knows that his excuse was originally a lie, but after he repeats it, he becomes more and more convinced that it is true.

In other words, the excuse is the reason why he didn't succeed.

You should believe that the first step to success is to prevent the disease that leads to failure – "excuse syndrome"

There are many forms of "excuse syndrome", the worst types are "excuse syndrome" for health conditions, "excuse syndrome" for intelligence, "excuse syndrome" for age, and "excuse syndrome" for luck.

Let's take a look at how you can get yourself seriously ill with these four common diseases.

Four common "excuses":

1. "My health is not well" health condition "excuse syndrome"

It can range from "I'm not feeling well" to a more specific type of "what disease do I have".

The so-called millions of bad physical conditions,

It is an excuse used by a person to explain why he wants to do something and fails or takes on more responsibility or does not make more money or does not achieve results.

Thousands of people suffer from "excuse syndrome" of health conditions.

But in most cases, can this be a valid reason?

Think a little about the successful people you know, they can also use health conditions as an excuse, but they don't do it.

Roosevelt became president with a disability, and Beethoven became blind and became the greatest pianist.

As a doctor, I have discovered that there is no such thing as a perfect adult sample.

Everybody's body will have some kind of problem or that.

Many people will surrender to all or part of their health "excuses",

But people who believe in success never do that.

Two points of my own experience one afternoon illustrate the right and wrong attitudes towards different health conditions.

No after I gave a lecture at a university, a young man in his 30s asked to speak with me privately for a few minutes. He began by congratulating me on the success of my presentation.

But he added, "But I'm afraid that your point of view doesn't work for me." ”

He continued: "I had a heart problem and I had to put my hands on my chest. ”

He went on to explain that he had seen four doctors, but none of them had found anything wrong with him.

He asked me if I could give him any advice.

"All right," I said,

"I have a little bit of research on the heart, and first I advise you to visit the most senior cardiologist you can find, such as the experts at Beijing Fuwai Hospital, and make his diagnosis the last correct diagnosis. You've seen four doctors, and none of them have found anything unusual in your heart. Let a fifth doctor do a final check-up, and maybe there's nothing wrong with your heart. ”

"If you continue to worry about this, ultimatum, you could really have a very serious heart attack. Blindly suspecting that you have a certain disease often ends up with it. ”

"The second thing I would suggest is that you read Dr. Schindelv's magnum opus, 'How to Live 365 Days in a Year.'"

In his book, he argues that three-quarters of hospital beds are occupied by patients with EII (or "emotion-induced disorder"). Think about it, three-quarters of patients who are suffering from illness will have no problems if they can handle their emotions correctly. Read Schindlev's book and work out the right way to deal with emotions that works for you. “

"It's true that some heart diseases are not really heart disease, but symptoms caused by anxiety and stress, and the same is true for digestive diseases."

"Third, be determined to live unto death."

I continued to explain to the troubled lad.

I explained that this was excellent advice I had received many years ago from a scientist friend who had had had his thyroid removed.

My friend knew that he would have to live a life of moderation with the drug for the rest of his life, but that didn't stop him from pursuing a career in research, maintaining a family, and enjoying life.

My friend, now 78 years old, expressed his philosophy of life in these words: "I will live unto death, and I will confuse life with death."

As long as I live on this earth for one day, I will live well and laugh at life.

Why be half dead and half alive? Every minute you spend worrying about death means you're the same as dead.

Once, I went to a meeting, and something interesting happened on the plane.

After the take-off noise, I heard a ticking sound like a clock.

I was so surprised that I glanced at the man sitting next to me, because the sound seemed to be coming from him.

He laughed out loud and said, "It's not a bomb, it's my heart." ”

The sound was so obvious that I was taken aback.

So he went on to tell me how it was.

Twenty-one days ago, he underwent a heart surgery in which a plastic membrane was placed in his heart, which he explained would last for years until new cellular tissue covered the membrane.

I know this because I'm a doctor.

"Alas!" He said:

"I have a great plan to study law when I get home. I hope to get a lawyer's license. The doctor told me I had to relax for a few years, but after that, I would be like a new person. ”

In this way, you have two ways to deal with health problems.

The first young man, who was not even sure whether he had an organic heart disease, was worried, discouraged, and was on the verge of destruction. And hopefully someone will agree with the view that he can't live.

The second, after the most difficult surgery, is still optimistic and eager to do something on his own.

The difference lies in how they deal with health issues.

I myself have a direct experience of "excuse syndrome":

I myself suffer from high blood pressure. Shortly after I found out I had this condition, I was warned:

"Although hypertension is a physical disease, the biggest mistake is to have a negative attitude towards the disease, that is, to worry too much. If you do, you're in real trouble. ”

Naturally, after discovering my own hypertension, I met many hypertensive patients.

Let me tell you two stories.

For one, the illness is very mild, but he belongs to the kind of dead who are alive.

He was very afraid of the change in the weather, he often wrapped himself very tightly for no reason, and he was worried that it would worsen his condition after a cold. So avoid all those who have a slight nasal congestion.

He was worried that excessive fatigue would worsen his high blood pressure, so he didn't do anything.

He spends all his energy worrying about all the little things that might happen.

He often tells people how serious his problems are. It's so annoying, he's like Xianglin's sister-in-law.

His real illness is not hypertension, he is a "pretext" of health because taking antihypertensive drugs can stabilize blood pressure.

He made himself a poor patient.

In the second example, this person is a department manager at a large publishing company.

His condition was severe, and his blood pressure was often as high as 180 mmHg, which was much higher than the former's.

But the manager didn't look like he was sick at all.

He loves his job and has fun doing it.

One day, he told me:

"It's true, it's inconvenient, I need to carry blood pressure medication whenever I want. But shaving is also a hassle. I didn't want to be bedridden. ”

He looked at me gently and said, "Every time I take medicine, I can't help but praise those who invented blood pressure medicine.

I have a good friend who is a well-known public health scientist.

Even though he was crippled in a car accident, he was always smiling. And happy to help him and all the normal people I know.

One day, the two of us had a long, long discussion about his disability.

"I only have one arm."

"Of course, two arms are better than one," he said. But I only lost my left arm, but my soul is still whole, my right arm is still sound, and I am glad that it is. ”

Another friend who had been amputated was an excellent badminton player.

One day I asked him how he had developed this near-perfect way of playing with only one arm.

No one with two arms can fight as well as he does.

His answer was meaningful:

"Yes, it's from my experience."

"My right attitude allowed me to use one arm to defeat those who had two arms but the wrong attitude. Think again, this is not only suitable for badminton, but also for all aspects of life. ”

There are four ways to overcome the "excuse syndrome" of health conditions,

The vaccine to prevent "excuses" of health conditions consists of the following four components:

(1) Avoid talking about your physical condition.

Any illness or even a common cold, the more you talk about it, the heavier it will look.

Also, talking about your physical condition is a bad habit.

People generally hate this, it can make you seem personal or long-winded like an old lady.

Hopefully, successful people can overcome this natural tendency to talk about bad health.

As a long-term complainer, you may get a little pity. But he will never be respected and loyal.

(2) Don't worry about your health.

A friend of mine who works as a doctor at a clinic recently wrote:

"I really ask people who worry all day to do some self-control. For example, I met a young man who decided he had a shoulder problem. Eight consecutive X-rays showed that his shoulder was completely normal. I asked him not to take any more X-rays of his shoulder. ”

He also advised people who thought they had heart problems not to do ECGs again.

(3) I am sincerely happy about my current physical condition.

There is a saying that Yan said well:

"It wasn't until I met someone who didn't have feet that I realized that I shouldn't be upset about a worn-out pair of shoes."

It's better to be glad that you have sound feet than to be unhappy about it.

Thankfully, your current physical condition is the best preventive shot to avoid new pain or illness.

(4) Always remind yourself that "it's better to run out of things than to break them." ”

You should enjoy life to the fullest, not waste it.

Since you are alive, don't always think of yourself as a patient in the hospital.

2. To be successful, you need to have a successful mind.

Intellectual "excuse syndrome" is also common.

In fact, 95% of the people around us suffer from this problem to some degree.

Unlike other types of "excuse disorder", people with this "excuse disorder" usually don't say it.

Not many people will openly admit that they are intellectually lacking, but rather keep it deep in their hearts.

In terms of intelligence. There are two common mistakes that most people make:

(1) Underestimating one's own intelligence.

(2) Overestimating the intelligence of others.

As a result of these two mistakes, many people have suffered a lot of wrongs.

Because all challenging situations require intelligence because they are not handled well.

And there are people who don't care about intelligence and get a good job.

What really matters is not how high your IQ is, but how you apply everything you have.

When it comes to influencing intelligence, the way of thinking is more important than the brainpower.

Again, because this is especially important:

"The way you think affects your intelligence more than your brain power."

In response to the question "Can your child become a scientist?" "This question,

Edward said, "To be a scientist, you don't have to have a quick mind, you don't need to have a good memory, you don't need to get a high grade in school, and the most important thing is a strong interest in science." ”

Interest, or passion, is a hormone that is crucial in scientific research.

With a positive, optimistic, and cooperative attitude, a person with an IQ of 100 will gain more money, respect, and achievement than a person with an IQ of 120, but a negative, pessimistic and uncooperative reluctance.

It is much better to be patient until a job, task or project is completed than to be smart at the moment.

Because patience accounts for 95% of the ability.

Last year, at a class reunion, I met a high school classmate I hadn't seen in decades.

He was a very bright student and graduated with outstanding grades.

The last time we met, his goal was to own his own business.

I asked Lao Yu what kind of business he had built in the end.

"Well", he confessed:

"I didn't grow any business myself. Five years ago, or even a year ago, I wouldn't have revealed this to anyone, but I'm going to say it now. ”

Looking back at my college education now, he says, I have become an expert in answering why I had the idea of starting a business and didn't succeed.

Because I studied everyone's failures and found a reason why it wouldn't work:

People who fail are always worried about this, worrying about that, should the business have a lot of money to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the business network? Is there a market for what you're going to do? Is the local industry stable? - There are a thousand and one things to implement.

"What saddened me the most was that one of my old classmates in high school, who didn't even go to college, played football and didn't even go to college, and now has his own brilliant business," he said sadly. If I had believed that I would succeed in business at the beginning, I would be in a much better position today. ”

Old Yu's way of thinking is much more important than his intelligence.

So why do some smart people fail?

Over the years, I have known a Mr. Li very well, he can be said to be a genius and has a high IQ. Despite his high IQ, he was one of the unsuccessful.

His work is mediocre and he is afraid to take on any responsibility. He was never married (many marriages ended in divorce), he had few friends (people hated him),

He never invested in anything. (He fears losing money), this person uses his brains to prove why things don't work, rather than using his wits to find a path to success.

With negative thoughts occupying his mind, he gives very little and creates very little, and if his attitude is not like this, he can indeed accomplish great things.

He has the mind to achieve great things, but not to achieve great things.

I know another friend who joined the army shortly after graduating from a prestigious university in Beijing.

He spent 3 years in the army and was neither an officer nor a specialist.

And in fact, for 3 years, he has been driving a truck, why? (What's going on?) )

Because he looked down on his comrades-in-arms (I was superior to them), on the training methods and steps of the troops (these are stupid), on discipline (this is only for others, not for me).

Later, the leaders didn't like him, his comrades-in-arms didn't like him, and even he himself lost confidence. he

Negative about everything, including himself (I can't do anything).

This person is not respected by anyone. His wealth of knowledge is all buried, and his negative attitude makes him a mediocre person.

Remember, what governs your wisdom is much more important than how much wisdom you have.

Having a bachelor's degree from a university doesn't go beyond these rules of success either.

A few years ago, I became a friend of Lao Yu, a senior executive at a large advertising agency, who was in charge of market research, and he did a very good job.

Does he have superhuman intelligence again?

He knew little research skills and knew nothing about statistics. He didn't go to college (because many of the people who worked for him were college graduates).

He also never pretends to know how to study technology.

So, what is it that allows him to earn an annual salary of 500,000 yuan, and none of his subordinates exceeds 100,000 yuan?

Lao Yu is a human engineer who has a positive attitude towards everything, and he can also motivate negative people.

He's very warm-hearted, he's hot, he understands people, he understands why people complain, he likes them.

It's not his brain, it's the way he dominates his mind that makes him three times more important to his company than those with high IQs.

Fewer than 50 out of every 100 people who enroll in college make it to school.

I was curious about this, so I asked the president of a university and asked him to explain.

"It's not mental deficiency," he said.

"What really doesn't accept them is that they don't have enough ability, and their attitude."

For the same reason, a negative mindset can explain why many young officials do not rise to the highest ranks.

It is not the lack of intelligence, but the negative, pessimistic, self-deprecating attitude that leaves many young people behind.

As one official put it: "It is rare for a young person to be eliminated because of intelligence, and it is generally an attitude." ”

There is such a problem.

Why is it that 75% of good workers can sell 75% of the total sum insured, while 25% of poor employees can only sell 5% of the total?

The files of thousands of people have been searched, and this finding clearly shows that there is no significant difference in their intelligence.

In addition, differences in education do not explain the differences in their sales achievements.

The distinction between the most successful and the least successful people ends up focusing on attitudes or ways of thinking.

The best group is less worried, more enthusiastic, and more loving for others.

There's nothing we can do to change a person's innate abilities, but we're perfectly capable of changing the way we use our innate abilities.

If you can use your knowledge constructively, it will turn into power.

Closely related to the intellectual "excuse syndrome" is the misconception of knowledge.

We often hear people say that "knowledge is power".

But only half of this argument is true. Knowledge is only a latent force, and knowledge only generates power when it is applied correctly,

And this method of use is constructive.

There is a story about how many feet Einstein was asked how many feet a mile was, and he replied, "I don't know, why should I have facts in my head that can be easily found in any reference book?" ”

Albert Einstein gave us a lot of inspiration.

He feels that it is much more important to use your brain to think than to use your brain to store some facts.

When someone asked Ford, who had little formal education, a simple question, he couldn't answer most of them.

Finally, he said angrily, "Yes, I don't know the answer to the question, but I can find someone for you who can answer your question in 5 minutes." ”

Ford was never interested in all sorts of information, and he knew all the officials who said, "It's more important to know how to get information than to use your brain as a storehouse of facts." ”

How valuable is a person who can only remember facts?

The other day, I had a great evening with a fast-growing business manager.

At the time, we were watching a TV show, which happened to be the most popular intelligence test. The champion who was asked had been on TV for a few weeks.

He can answer all kinds of questions, but many of them don't make much sense.

In his reply to a particularly quirky question about what happened on a mountain, the business manager looked at me and said:

"How much do you think I'll pay this guy on TV if he works for me?"

"How much?" I asked.

"Up to 300 yuan, but not for a week, not for a month, not for a year, but for a lifetime."

I have already seen through it, this "expert" has no brain, does not think, he only remembers.

He is merely an encyclopedia of humanity. I only say 300 yuan because that's exactly the price of an encyclopedia.

In fact, that's too much, and 95 percent of the problems he knows can be found on a calendar worth only $2.

He went on to say, "I want people who can solve problems, people who can come up with ideas and solutions, people who dare to think and then turn dreams into reality." A good piece of advice made me a lot of money, but a guy like him couldn't. ”

There are three ways to treat intellectual "excuse disorder". The three easy ways are:

(1) Don't underestimate your talents.

Don't overestimate other people's talents, either.

Don't sell yourself at a low price, think more about your wealth and discover your superhuman talents.

Remember, it's not how many heads you have, it's how you apply it. Use your mind correctly and don't worry about how intelligent you are.

(2) Remind yourself every day, "My attitude is more important than my intelligence." "At work, practice a positive attitude at home.

Discover why you can't see something, not why you can't do it.

Develop a "I'm going to win" attitude and apply your wisdom creatively and positively.

Apply it to find a path to success, not to prove that you will fail.

(3) The ability to remember thinking is more valuable than your memory, use your mind to create some ideas and find new ways to solve problems.

Ask yourself, "Do I use my brain power to create, or do I want to record the history that someone else has already made?" ”

3. It's useless, I'm too old (or too young). Age "excuse syndrome" is a disease that leads to failure at any time and at an inappropriate age.

There are mainly two different forms: either saying "I'm too old" or "I'm too young." ”

You've heard a lot of people of all ages who haven't made a mark say, "I'm too old or too young to do what I want to do." Or because of my age, I won't win it. ”

Indeed, it is not surprising that few people feel age-appropriate.

Unfortunately, it is this excuse that causes many people to miss out on opportunities, believing that their age is not appropriate and therefore giving up without even trying.

The most common type of "excuse disorder" of this age is "I'm too old."

The disease spreads in a wonderful way.

The fantasy film was originally created by a man who could not find a new job due to the merger of units.

Because he was too old, it took him months to find another job.

After finally trying to commit suicide, I decided that writing a book would also be good.

A script about "why you're going to be eliminated at 40" is popular, not because it's factual, but because it's popular with many preoccupied people looking for excuses.

How to deal with age "excuse syndrome".

Can age "excuse syndrome" be cured?

A few years ago, while I was working on a sales training program, I found a vaccine that could both treat the disease and prevent you from getting it.

In this training program, there is a trainee named Li Yang. 40-year-old Li Yang wanted to change his career to work as an agent for a brand of lathes, but he thought he was too old, and I was already 40 years old.

To solve the problem of "too old", I talked to him a few times.

I use the old prescription: "You will get old as you feel old."

But I don't find it useful (because often people say, 'I do feel too old').

Eventually, I found a way to do it.

One day, after the training class, I first tested this method on Li Yang, and I said, "Li Yang, at what age do people start to have the ability to create?" ”

He thought for a few seconds and then replied, "Oh, about 20 years old, I guess." ”

"Well", I said, "will his ability to work stop?" ”

Li Yang replied: "If he is in good health and likes his work, I think he will still be useful until he is about 70 years old." ”

"That's right," I said.

"Many farmers are still very strong at the age of 70, let us be clear again, just now you said that the labor force can be extended from 20 to 70 years old. This period was 50 years, or half a century. ”

"Li Yang," I said to him, "How much time have you spent working when you are 40 years old?" ”

"20 years," he replied.

"How many years are left?"

"30 years," he replied.

"In other words, Li Yang, you haven't used up half of it yet! You've just used 40% of your productive time. ”

I looked at Li Yang, and he seemed to understand something.

His age "excuse syndrome" was cured in this way.

Li Yang found that he still had enough time.

All of a sudden, his thoughts changed from "I'm old" to "I'm young." ”

Li Yang now realizes that it doesn't matter how old you are.

And whether it is a blessing or a curse is determined by your attitude towards age.

Treating your own age-based "excuses" often leads to opportunities that you didn't think you would otherwise be able to get.

I have a relative, Wang Hui, who has spent a lot of time doing different things, including sales, self-employment, company employees, etc., but still hasn't found a single thing he really wants to do.

Eventually, he discovered that one of his favorite things to do was to be a chef.

But when I think about it, I feel like I'm too old. Anyway, he was 45 years old, had 3 children, and he had very little money.

Thankfully, he believed in his own abilities and told himself, "I have to be a chef at 45 or not."

Confident, he signed up for a one-year chef training course.

A year later, he apprenticed as a chef. And joined Shaxian snacks in his county.

Old? Of course not. He still has 20 years to work!

Not long ago, I talked to him and he told me:

"You don't know, if I hadn't made that decision when I was 45, the rest of my life would have been much worse and more miserable. It feels the same now as it did 15 years ago. ”

He also said that if he can overcome the "excuse syndrome" of age, he will naturally gain the optimism and feeling of young people.

When you are free from the shackles of age, you will live longer and create more achievements.

Wang Hui has now opened another Shaxian snack in a regional-level city and bought a house.

A colleague of mine and I told an interesting example of how age "excuse syndrome" can be overcome:

Twenty years ago, 45-year-old Zhang Liang graduated from a prestigious university, and his life was very simple during his 10 years as a stockbroker.

Suddenly, one day Zhang Liang decided to become a lawyer.

His friend advised him that he was going to carry out a difficult study program that would leave him in debt.

But he was determined to make it happen.

At the age of 50, he finally got his lawyer's license.

At present, Zhang Liang has become a lawyer in a well-known law firm, and he is also very happy.

He smiled and said, "I still have 1/3 of my good time left!" ”

Emphasize that too old is doomed to failure, so it is necessary to overcome him. Just in case he bites your hind legs like a tiger.

When is it too young?

"Excuses" such as "I'm too young" are also harmful.

About 1 year ago, a 23-year-old guy named Bai Jie came to me with a question, he was very tall and had gone to college.

During his school years, he made money as a delivery boy to support his college life.

Whether at school or at work, he does a great job.

But Bai Jie is in a bit of trouble today.

He said, "I have a problem, my company asked me to be the person in charge of takeaway. This will make me the leader of 8 takeaways. ”

"Congratulations, that's great news." I said, "But you don't seem happy?" ”

"Yes," he continued, "all eight people I'm going to lead are 7 to 21 years older than me. What should I do? Can I do it? ”

"Bai Jie", I said, "it's obvious that the general manager of your company thinks you're old enough, otherwise he wouldn't use you." Just keep these three things in mind:

First, don't think too much about age. Let's go back to the countryside and look at an example where a child becomes an adult because he can do the things of an adult. It doesn't matter how many birthdays you've had, it's for you. It turns out that when you can lead, you're naturally old enough.

Second, don't be complacent just because you have this status. Be respectful of other delivery people and listen to their suggestions. Make them feel like they're working for a captain and not a dictator. That way, people will work for you instead of against you.

Third, get used to having older people work for you. Leaders will soon find out that you are younger than most of the people who are led. Therefore, get used to having older people work for you, which will be very helpful for you in the future. ”

"And remember, Bai Jie, your age will never be an obstacle to your success, unless you make him an obstacle."

Today, Bai Jie is doing a good job, he likes to work as a takeaway, and he is also preparing to set up his own company.

Youth, only when a young man makes him energetic, she will be energetic.

I've often heard people say that to do a job well you need to be physically mature.

These jobs include the sale of security and insurance.

Some people say that to gain the confidence of an investor, you either have gray hair or baldness, and I think that's complete nonsense.

What really matters is how well you know the job.

If you understand your job and are empathetic, you're good enough to deal with it.

There is no real relationship between age and ability.

A lot of young people fall behind because they feel too young.

It's true that another person in another institution, because of insecurity or fear of losing your job, will hold you back because of age or other reasons.

But those in the company who really have brains don't do that.

They'll give you as many tasks as they think you can do.

To prove to others what you are capable of, a positive attitude and youthful energy should be seen as strengths.

Briefly, the treatment of age "excuse syndrome" includes:

(1) Look at your current age with a positive attitude. Think "I'm still young" instead of "I'm old."

It is necessary to look at the good in order to get a sense of enthusiasm and youth.

(2) Calculate how much time you have left for your career. Remember, a 30-year-old still has 80% of the time left for a career!

Even if you are 50 years old, there is still a 40% chance, the best 40%, and life is indeed much longer than most people think.

(3) Spend your future time doing what you really love.

If you negativity of your mind and think it's too late, it's really too late.

Don't keep thinking, "I should have started a few years ago." "This kind of thinking leads to failure.

Instead, think of it this way: "I'm about to start now, and my best days are yet to come!" ”

This is the mindset of successful people.

(4) "But I'm in a different situation, and I'm not in a good fate." ”

Recently, I heard a traffic engineer talk about highway safety.

He pointed out that more than 10,000 people are killed every year in various so-called traffic accidents.

The main point of his conversation was that there were no real surprises in everything.

In fact, the so-called accidents are caused by the failure of humans or machines, or both.

The words of this transportation expert confirm what a philosopher has said for many years:

"There must be a reason for everything. There is no such thing as a result without a cause. None of the changes in the weather are accidental. There are distinct reasons for all kinds of changes, and there is no reason to exclude human activities. ”

Almost every day, people complain about their bad luck.

At the same time, it is rare to attribute someone's achievements to his luck.

I'm going to elaborate here on how people surrender to the "excuse syndrome" of luck.

Recently, I had lunch with three young cadres. That day was talking about Wang Yang, who had just been promoted.

Why did Wang Yang get this position?

The three people who were not promoted analyzed various reasons, whether it was luck, chance, whether it was a slap on the wrist, or the reason of his wife, but they did not find the real reason.

The truth is that Wang Yang is more qualified.

Because he does a good job, works harder, and is more efficient.

I also know that the superiors spend a lot of time deciding which of them to promote.

On this day, the three of them also understood that the higher-level leaders would not be careless when selecting key cadres.

Not long ago, I talked to the sales department leader of a mechanical abrasives production company about the seriousness of "luck" and "excuses".

He was intrigued and talked about his own experience.

"I've never heard of this concept," he says, "but it's something every salesperson should overcome." Yesterday there was an incident in our company that is a great example of what you are talking about. ”

"A salesman entered the house at about 4 o'clock with an order of 1.12 million yuan. Another narrow-minded salesman was present, and when he heard Wang Tao tell me the good news, he congratulated Wang Tao very jealously and said, 'Okay, Wang Tao, you are lucky again'. ”

Now, the failed salesman has always decided that Wang Tao's success was nothing more than good luck." In fact, Wang Tao has been working on this customer for several months. He pitched to them again and again. Wang Tao had spent the night thinking about how best to sell to them. Then he had our engineers do the preliminary design of the equipment. Wang Tao is not lucky, unless you insist on careful work and patient planning as lucky."

Now suppose let luck control everything about a person.

If luck were left to determine who did what work, then business would collapse across the country.

If it were all a matter of luck, it would be equivalent to putting the names of all employees in one bucket, with the first place drawn being the boss, the second being the deputy boss, and so on.

Sounds stupid, right? That's how luck works.

In any profession (including business management, sales, law, engineering, performing arts), if we want to achieve something and reach the top, we must first have the right attitude, and at the same time, we need to have the right guiding ideology in the actual work.

5. Overcome the "excuse syndrome" of luck through the following two methods

(1) Acknowledging the law of cause and effect.

Look again at whether something is someone's "good luck" and you will see that it is not luck but the good fortune that comes from the idea of preparing, planning, and creating success.

Conversely, if you look at what seems to be "bad luck", you will see that there are specific reasons.

Mr. "Success" learns from every setback and gains from it, while when Mr. "Mediocre" fails, he learns nothing.

Don't be an obsessive dreamer.

Don't spend time dreaming of a way to succeed without any effort.

Luck alone won't succeed.

Only by doing certain things and mastering the principles that can bring success will you succeed, and don't want to rely on luck to get promotions, victories, and objectively good things.

Luck is not the transmitter of these good things.

On the contrary, concentrate on improving your own quality to make yourself a winner.

Believe in yourself and crush fear

"It's just your imagination. Don't worry, there's nothing to be afraid of. Successful people often say this to themselves.
