Yu Qiuyu

Born in August 1946, he is a native of Zhejiang. As early as the "**" disaster period, in response to the cultural extremist dictatorship that took drama as the starting point at that time, he bravely established the grand framework of "World Drama Studies", which has been published for more than 30 years and is still the only authoritative textbook in this field, and won the "First Prize of National Excellent Textbook". At the same time, he completed the new "History of Chinese Theatre" from the height of cultural anthropology, completed the first "Audience Psychology" with the height of aesthetics, and created a self-contained "Art Creation", all of which have been highly praised by the academic circles at home and abroad.

In the mid-eighties of the twentieth century, he was elected as the youngest university president in Chinese mainland at that time, and served as the head of the evaluation team of professors majoring in Chinese in Shanghai and the head of the evaluation team of professors majoring in art. He has been awarded the honorary titles of "National Expert with Outstanding Contributions", "Top Ten Higher Education Elites in Shanghai" and "China's Most Respectable Cultural Figure".

More than 20 years ago, he resolutely resigned from all administrative positions and high-ranking appointments, and visited the important sites of Chinese civilization that had been buried alone. The works he wrote not only vigorously promoted the protection of cultural relics, but also created a generation of "cultural prose" style, and there are many imitators.

At the end of the 20 th century, he risked his life to travel tens of thousands of kilometers and inspect a series of the most important cultural relics, such as the Babylonian civilization, the Egyptian civilization, the Cretan civilization, the Hebrew civilization, the Arab civilization, the Indian civilization, and the Persian civilization.

The books he has written have long been at the top of the global Chinese book rankings. In Taiwan alone, it has won a series of major awards such as the "Platinum Writer Award", "Writer's Laureate Award", "Reader's Best Book Award" and "Jinshitang Most Influential Book Award".

In the past ten years, he has relied on the vast resources of investigation and research to devote himself to systematic writings on Chinese context, Chinese aesthetics, and Chinese personality. UNESCO, Peking University, China Talent magazine and other institutions have repeatedly awarded him awards, commending him for "integrating in-depth research, personal investigation and effective communication", and as "a contemporary master of high literary talent, learning, philosophy and speech".

Since 2002, he has been to Harvard University, Yale University, Columbia University, New York University, the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and the United Nations China Book Club to give lectures on topics such as "Chinese Macro Cultural History" and "Chinese Culture in World Coordinates". In 2008, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission awarded the establishment of the "Master Yu Qiuyu Studio". He is currently the President of the "Autumn Rain Academy" of the Chinese Academy of Arts, the Chief Cultural Advisor of Hong Kong Phoenix Satellite TV, and the Dean of the School of Humanities and Arts of Macau University of Science and Technology.
