13 Chapter 13
Back in the small town of Radebilla, it took Jamie nearly a week to recover. When the shadow of the curse fades away from them, life returns to its original state.
Winnie successfully got her driver's license and bought a favorite car before school started.
"It's so cute."
Lisa smiled and looked at the various doll ornaments in Winnie's new car, whether it was the seat cover or the floor mat, she had replaced it with a fresh and pink style. If it weren't summer, Winnie would have to put on the sunflower cushion.
Sarah, an aunt who lives across the road, said, "Wouldn't it be too naΓ―ve? β
Sarah's house was directly across the street from Winnie's house, just across the road. Divorced, living alone, very busy at work, occasionally meeting with neighbors, and chatting.
"It's too naΓ―ve for a child, but it's just right for me to go to college." Winnie laughed.
Sarah was stunned for a moment, then laughed out loud with Lisa.
While he was laughing, a moving company's car came up and stopped in front of the empty house on the right.
All three of them looked over, and a man got out of the car behind him, and after getting out of the car, he walked to the back of the car to open the trunk and get something. The rear door opened, and a beautiful woman in a champagne-colored dress walked out with a small baby in her arms.
The man took out the stroller in the trunk and pushed it to the woman, so she bent down and put the baby in her arms.
"There's a new neighbor moving in." Lisa looked at them, "Baby." β
"A few days ago, I did see a real estate agent bringing people to see the house." Sarah said.
Winnie can't help but think that those horror movies in Europe and the United States either happen when you move, or when you travel, and doesn't she just move over to "hit the ghost"? Although it is the next-door neighbor who actually "hits the ghost".
I hope she thinks about it too much, so many people move every day, and she won't be so unlucky to meet her again.
Winnie has a muted response to the arrival of her new neighbor, but Lisa, who is going to be a mother, is quite interested in them. Looking at the size of the baby, she was only born for a month or two, and she was interested in all the babies when her mother's love was strong.
The family only moved in today and the house was busy, and Lisa didn't bother, and the next day she brought a small gift to visit the new neighbor.
Mia, who was busy with housework at home, was very puzzled when she heard the knock on the door, they only moved here yesterday, and they didn't expect someone to visit today. She replied casually: "Here, please wait a moment." β
The gate opened, and standing outside the door was the woman she had seen in the courtyard next door yesterday, smiling brightly and holding a bear doll in her hand.
Mia was very wary of strangers because of what happened before, and her smile was not warm: "Hello, is there something wrong?" β
Lisa smiled kindly: "Hello, I am your neighbor who lives in the second house on the left. She pointed in the direction of the house, "I'll get to know you, I hope it doesn't bother you." β
As he spoke, he handed over the doll in his hand: "This is what I prepared for my baby, it is brand new." She put her hand on her lower abdomen and smiled.
Hearing that the other party was a pregnant woman, Mia's attitude softened a lot. And the last time it was a complete accident, and their family was not the target of the cult/cult in the first place, it was completely unjustified.
Now that you've moved to a new home, you should still maintain friendly relations with your neighbors.
"Oh." Mia smiled embarrassedly and took the doll over, "Please come in, don't mind if the house hasn't been cleaned up yet." β
Lisa has made new friends, and Mia Gordon, a new friend, is still the mother of a little baby, and they talk more speculatively. Although Lisa has the best relationship with Winnie, in her eyes Winnie is still a girl, and it is not convenient to talk to Winnie about marriage and parenting. Both Jamie and Winnie are happy for Lisa, and it's better to have a friend to talk to than to stay at home and watch TV.
"She's very easy to get along with, but the dolls in the children's room make me a little scared." Lisa said as she lay on the bed.
Jamie sensed the keyword and looked at it keenly: "What doll?" β
Lisa turned sideways and patted Jamie and said, "Mia likes to collect dolls, and she has an out-of-print doll at home, and I heard that it is difficult to buy." But I think the doll is weird and scary. β
Since the incident with Mary Shaw, Lisa has had a psychological shadow on things like puppet dolls. But this is someone else's hobby after all, or an out-of-print treasure, and she can't say something inconspicuous, and it's a big deal to stay away from the nursery when she goes to Gordon's house.
Jamie thought for a moment and said, "Don't worry, not all dolls are hiding from a Mary Shaw, and she's been wiped out by us, hasn't she?" β
Pregnant women should still be in a good mood, so Jamie brings up another thing: "Winnie is about to start school." β
At the mention of this, Lisa sat up from the bed and said with great interest, "Yes, I also prepared a school gift!" On the first day of school, we invited her out to dinner to celebrate her wonderful university life! β
Jamie didn't object, but said, "Well, you can pick a restaurant from now on, she's a foodie." β
β¦β¦
Soon, Winnie ushered in her college life.
Winnie is still looking forward to campus life, for her, as long as there are no ghosts, no battle royale, every ordinary day is incomparably beautiful.
On the first day of school, Winnie chose to wear a simple outfit, a short-sleeved shirt with a sense of design and slim-fitting jeans. After eating milk and omelette for breakfast, I picked up my school bag and drove to school.
The university she attended is not far from where she lives, and she must be there within 10 minutes without traffic jams if she drives. The car parked to Winnie's left while waiting for a red light on the road lowered its rear window, and the boy who had met several times greeted her.
"Good morning, Miss Green."
Next to the boy sat a smaller girl, the little girl was very cute, and when she saw Winnie, her eyes lit up immediately, and she gestured with her hand to ask her brother who the other party was.
Winnie smiled at the child's mother, who was looking at her suspiciously, "Good morning." β
The woman also smiled politely: "Good morning." β
Looking at the thoughtful look on the woman's face, she should be remembering who Winnie really is.
The green light turned on, and the two cars quickly drove away, and only then did the child's mother ask her son who the person was just now. In her memory, she probably hadn't seen Winnie.
Daniel restlessly poked the back of the front seat with the tip of his shoe, leaving gray marks, and was not interested in his mother's questioning: "Oh, she's a new resident of the town, and it's been almost two months since she moved here, and I met her in the town." β
The girl sitting next to him gestured with her hand: she was so beautiful.
Daniel pursed his lips, distraught at the thought of the start of the new semester.
Winnie left the Coleman family she had just met behind after the car started, and she stayed away from all children who were in the bear child stage, no matter how well-behaved they looked, she had little interest in dealing with them.
Today's sunshine is still warm, and when the car drives around the school, there are more students on foot or on bicycles carrying school bags.
I thought she was trapped in a horror game before graduating from college, but I didn't expect to start over again after I came out.
Driving the car into the parking lot, Winnie walked down with her school bag on her back, and just after locking the car, she was stopped by a person.
"Wait!"
Winnie turned her head to look.
"Hello!" A tall boy trotted over from the other side with a smile, and inadvertently flicked the key with the car logo in his hand: "Freshman, I don't seem to have seen you." As he spoke, he looked Winnie from head to toe with his eyes, and the more he looked at it, the brighter his smile became.
Winnie didn't look at him very happy, but she didn't look indifferent to this beautiful face, even if it was a facial paralysis, it was cold for a beauty.
"Yes."
The boy obviously didn't notice it, and was still enthusiastically introducing: "Oh, I'm your sophomore senior, Walter Bernal." Can I help you? I'm familiar with the school and can help you show the way. β
"Thanks, no need, I have the map." Winnie said.
Before school started, Winnie had already come in for a walk.
Bernal didn't care about Winnie's refusal, and walked with her with a smile: "You're welcome, what's your name?" Which major? β
Without waiting for Winnie to respond, a few whistles came: "Yo, I said that you parked the car for a long time, it turned out that you went fishing for girls." β
The three boys leaned against a car with their bags on their backs and looked at them with teasing expressions. After seeing Winnie's face clearly, he took a breath and said exaggeratedly: "It's amazing, you were preempted by such a beautiful person." β
Winnie frowned, not only was she not happy to be praised, but she only felt that the other party was very rude. Stopped and accosted by someone who parked a car, the other party's friend was either "fishing for girls" or "being preempted", what did they think of girls?
Bernal glared at them when he saw Winnie frowning, and explained to her: "Don't listen to their nonsense, they just like to joke, in fact, they are very good." β
"If the person being joked about can't laugh, it's not a joke." Winnie's tone was flat, "If you want to 'fish for girls' in this way, you'd better figure out what kind of person she is. β
And it is clear that Winnie is clearly not suitable for such interruptions and jokes.
When she used to go to school, Winnie preferred to be quiet and introverted, a top student, or a sunny and cheerful type. This kind of "gangster" and "street runner" type can hide as far as they can.
"Oh, she's old-fashioned." A boy whispered.
Winnie restrained herself from rolling her eyes and took a few quick steps to distance herself from Bernard. At this time, a red-haired girl greeted the boys behind Winnie, looking at her aura like a campus celebrity.
Bernal chased two steps forward, and stopped when he saw the red-haired girl: "Hello Daojie." β
Daojie showed a smile and glanced back at Winnie's back: "What's wrong?" β
Bernard's friends shrugged: "You know, pretty freshman. β
Daojie smiled inexplicably after hearing this.
