Chapter 13: The Knife Bearer
At the top of the sacred mountain, another seven years have passed, and the fit between heaven and earth has stopped temporarily.
After the great god-king had vented his desires, he began to wander the earth aimlessly again. At this point he found it a little bored, because there were no more children to make his toys.
In desperation, Ouranos had no choice but to bombard everything he saw with his divine power at will, and then find a little pleasure in destruction.
After he was gone, Gaia was still lying on the top of the mountain. She tried her best to reduce her consumption, but it didn't make sense. Visible to the naked eye, her immortal divine body began to age.
She knew she had to do something, so in her body, where the twelve children were, Mother Earth made a request.
"You see, this is your father, the god-king of Kaos. He has hurt me and imprisoned you. If this continues, when I fall into eternal sleep, you will remain here forever, maintaining the state between life and death. โ
There was hatred in Mother Earth's calm tone. Every second, she could feel the passage of power. Her spirit was on the twelve gods, and that was her last hope.
"I need a warrior," Gaia said, "and I need one of you to have the courage to stand up against your father." โ
"This is also part of the prophecy that the Father will be shaken by his own sons, and you are destined for success."
There was a moment of silence, and in the silence, Rheit's voice sounded hesitantly.
"Mother, we are willing to share your worries, but 'the eldest son, not the eldest', we do not meet this condition."
The other Titans thought the same. Thousands of years have passed, and they still don't understand the meaning of this sentence.
"No, you do."
Unlike the Titans, just before, at the end of the god-king's atrocities, Mother Earth suddenly understood the true meaning of the prophecy. The eldest son, but not the oldest, now is the time for him to appear.
"Whoever agrees to my request will be the first to leave my body. You will be conceived again by the command of the King of God, and the place of the firstborn will be rearranged. โ
Mother Earth's voice fell, and the gods were a little shocked. It was only at this moment that they deeply felt the power of fate.
At the banquet 2,500 years ago, it was revealed that they would be conceived again, so the eldest son was not the eldest.
"But we don't have weapons."
Humperion seemed to have some thoughts, but also some hesitation.
As the only sun at present, he is not inferior to the eldest brother and younger brother who have not yet been divided into priesthood. If he can become the god who defeated Ouranos, maybe he will also be expected to inherit the throne of the god king.
"The prophesied knife, it's ready." Mother Earth said again, "The God-King commanded all the weapons of the world to be sensed by him, so I conceived a sickle out of flint. It has never been seen in the world, and it was born with the intention of harvesting plants, so it is not a weapon. โ
"It's unforged, it's naturally generated, so it doesn't have a forger, it's a natural product."
The gods were silent again. Little did they know that the prophesied 'relative' who aided the rebellion was actually Gaia. Not one of their brothers, nor an uncle who incarnates the mountains and the deep sea, but the mother who gave birth to them in front of them.
Yes, there is nothing more in line with 'loved ones' than a husband and wife.
"But we made a vow."
Before Hyperion could speak, Thea pointed out the crux of the matter. Of the twelve Titans, she was the closest to Hyperion. Therefore, she didn't want to see her brother being confused by the throne of the god-king and making the wrong decision.
Mother Earth was also speechless about the facts Thea's telling.
At this time, the Guardian of the Oath had not yet appeared, the River Styx had not yet been born, and the world had not yet delegated the authority to take the Oath. At this time, breaking an oath is a terrible thing.
If the prophecy shows that the sword-wielding man is destined to become the next generation of god-kings, then the twelve Titans will not hesitate to fight for the right to hold the sword. But since the throne of the god-king is uncertain, no one wants to suffer the consequences of breaking their oath.
After all, becoming a god-king, the supreme divine right can make up for the damaged priesthood. But if the sword-wielding man is only a man in marriage, the gods are not willing to take that risk.
And the most important thing, which has not been mentioned by the Earth Mother, is that 'shaking the royal power' is not necessarily the same as 'subverting the royal power'.
If it weren't for the prophet's more than one time to say the title of 'First God-King', the gods might not have dared to believe it, and the mighty father would have failed.
Thousands of years of fear have long been deeply rooted in the bone marrow.
"Let me do it." The silence continued, and in the increasingly desperate wait of Mother Earth, Kronos spoke up.
Unlike before, his voice was calm and magnetic at this moment, without the slightest hint of the previous shrinking in front of the God King.
Prior to today, he had been the most timid and non-existent of the Twelve Titans.
Because of his unique authority, he was never treated as a toy by his father. Because he was the youngest child, Ouranos was not very jealous of him. Despite possessing the most powerful divine powers in the Titans, he has been unnoticed by his siblings.
But at this time, with his voice, the gods finally remembered his premeditated oath.
As the first to swear, he declared himself not to be a facilitator, but did not say that he was not a knife bearer.
Just as he had thought about it a long time ago, Kronos only wields a knife for himself, and will never become a knife in the hands of others.
"Yes, my youngest brother." Hybrion sneered, as if he had met him for the first time: "I never thought that you were so far-sighted. โ
"Yes, Kronos. Perhaps you and the prophets are not too far away in wisdom. โ
Okeanos also spoke. He still remembers how embarrassed he was when the first half of the prophecy was made.
But Kronos is different, in the face of his father's oppression, he even dares to play this little trick in language. If it weren't for Ouranos not paying attention, he would have spent his two thousand five hundred birthday in Tartarus.
"Enough!" Mother Earth interrupted coldly, her voice disappointed with a hint of surprise.
"Since none of you are willing to carry a sword for me, then do not laugh at your brave brother."
"Kronos, my youngest child." After reprimanding his other two sons, Gaia's voice finally brought a hint of anger: "So are you willing to take up the scythe and end this disaster for me, for your brothers and sisters, and for yourself?" โ
"Yes, I do." Kronos said.
"I'm willing to carry a knife, but I need more specific guidance. There is definitely a more crucial part to prophecy, and a sword will not set me up against the Father. โ
โยทยทยทยทยทยท You're right, I will. I will find the prophet and ask you about the truth of the prophecy. โ
"But he used to say that he was just an observer of fate." Humperion suddenly spoke up.
"It's just that he has other demands, and I'm seeing that more and more clearly now."
The devastated Earth Mother seems to have finally regained some of her wisdom, and when faced with the only chance to resist, she calmly recalls every meeting with Ryan.
No one who can spy on their fate can hold back, and they will definitely use this power for their own benefit. The God of Prophecy definitely knew better, but he didn't say it, just like he asked the God-King for the timing, he must have had his own purpose.
"He's in Hades right now, between me and Tartarus, he's waiting for me. He will ask me, and I'm ready, but you have to be ready. โ
Mother Earth spoke calmly, and then lay quietly on the ground.
It wasn't the time yet, she had to wait for the right moment. When Ouranos found a new toy, that's when she went to Hades.
Now, she chooses to endure the pain.
