Chapter 28: Traveling Together and Brightly
Undoubtedly, no matter how Prometheus is evaluated from other perspectives, his preference for humanity is indeed genuine.
Maybe there were other thoughts mixed in with it, such as secretly being surprised by the increase in his divine power, but that wasn't the main reason. He loves his creations, so he is willing to do things for them, and always puts himself in their shoes, which is why he has done everything he has done, is, and will do.
So Prometheus returned to the place where man was made, a plain in the eastern part of the continent, not very far from the sea. He flew high into the air, observed from the perspective of a god where there were cattle and sheep, where there was grain, and then guided the humans to retrieve them.
He taught human writing so that they could write and communicate. He imparted knowledge to mankind, which the king of the golden humans of the previous era had learned from his dreams. He also relied on the body of his gods to drive away beasts of prey for humans.
Later, however, the seers began to discover that this kind of care had made some of these humans lazy. They enjoy the gifts of the Creator, but they are not willing to work.
So after thinking about it, Prometheus decided not to do it himself. He will use his wisdom to help humanity and then let them do everything on their own.
From then on, Prometheus lived with his brother in human settlements, telling them solutions to their problems.
Of course, he did not forget the most crucial thing. The Prophet guided the construction of temples dedicated to the gods and told the greatness of each deity one by one. He built the temple of the god-king in the most beautiful way, and then had people pay tribute to the gods.
God responded to humanity as they promised. When human beings offer more and better things to God than they have, they still bring blessings even though the gods don't really care about these offerings.
Since then, the place where human beings live has good weather and the plants that bear fruit are evergreen all year round. When people lit torches, ordinary wild animals avoided them, and disasters such as earthquakes and storms never happened in human habitation.
Everything was beautiful, the gods reaped the faith as scheduled, humanity was benefited, and even by order of the god-king, Prometheus took the rest of the material and made it human. This time, however, he made a child that resembled the god's infancy. The Seer hoped that in this way the god-king would be able to realize that it was time to bestow a human woman.
In this way, years flew by.
······
It is another year of harvest and a day of sacrifice to the gods.
Under the guidance of Prometheus, the humans flocked to the temples built for different gods. There, they gave most of the year's harvest as a proof of their piety.
Therefore, in the human settlement, the lively scene of the past is gone, but seems a little deserted.
Walking on the human street, looking at everything around him, Ryan casually picked a fruit from the tree on the side of the road and handed it to Lyanna on the side.
The faithful angel took the fruit, but only held it in his bosom and had no intention of eating it.
"Lyanna, don't keep a strained face, don't you think it's interesting here?"
Shaking his head slightly, he looked at the fruitful trees around him.
Although spring, summer and autumn have become more pronounced in Kaos with the birth of the three goddesses of the Spirits, the fruit trees here are still evergreen under the authority of Demeter.
Even standing on Mount Olympus, God's influence on the world is still enormous.
"In a few years, without the action of divine power, human beings built such large-scale settlements. If I hadn't seen anything more powerful, I would have been amazed at it. ”
Admire the quaint and primitive buildings that surround you, and the bronze humans are still building houses out of wood and stone.
Everything seems rough and orderly, and a sense of exuberance grows here.
But what's the use of that? All it takes is an earthquake, or a falling star, and everything they have will go to dust. ”
Standing beside Ryan, Lyanna asked suspiciously.
If it weren't for Ryan's coming, the Moon Goddess wouldn't have come from any human tribe at all, and she didn't think it was a big deal.
Just as human beings see beasts without wisdom, they will not sigh, 'If I don't have wisdom, I can't do as well as them,' because wisdom is the innate endowment of human beings, just as divine power is the innate endowment of God.
So Ryan wasn't surprised by Lyanna's thoughts. What really values human beings to God is not only faith, but also creativity. Or maybe it's because of creativity that they have faith.
Ryan wasn't sure of that yet, and humans hadn't had time to show the latter.
"It's useless to look at, but they can generate faith, but you don't know why they can produce it. At least for that, they have merit. ”
Responding to Lyanna's question in easy-to-understand words, Ryan noticed that a young man was sitting there beside a wooden house not far away.
He looked vaguely in the direction of the temple, but did not go to worship the gods like the other humans.
"Later you will understand Lyanna, this is civilization. Everything is changing, only the change itself is constant. Civilization itself is the source of 'change'. ”
"Let's go, let's take a look."
Lyanna on the side seemed to understand whether she understood or not, but Lane moved forward, and she still followed. Soon, the two of them came to the young man.
As if noticing the comer, the young man raised his head slightly, and his originally cloudy gaze instantly became sober.
"Gods."
A calm tone, an affirmative judgment. In the mortal world, it is already difficult for the gods to judge whether the other party has divine power, and the existence of Lyanna is proof of this.
There is no woman among human beings, and the one who comes is God.
"Well, isn't that the same?"
Nodding and smiling beside the young man, Ryan motioned for Lyanna to sit down as well.
"I'll take her to see the world with me, after all, it's hard to go further in the future like she is now."
"When you do something, you must always learn to plan ahead, and you can't wait for the trouble to come to an end."
His eyes narrowed slightly, but Epimetheus still didn't relax. He didn't think it was a coincidence that he came to the tribe of humans on this special day.
"I'm afraid there's not much to see here, except for me and my brother, just a bunch of ignorant mortals."
"Huh."
With a chuckle, Ryan could feel that Lyanna's gaze at the other party was already a little unkind.
However, the vigilance of the person in front of him is understandable, and he also knows why the other party is vigilant. So he spoke comfortingly:
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not here for your brother. And even if no one finds out about his actions, he probably won't be able to succeed forever. ”
There was a pang in his heart, but then Epimetheus fell silent again. The other party really knew what his brother was going to do, and he shouldn't have been indifferent, but just like Ryan said, even if he dodged this time, Prometheus couldn't succeed forever.
Anything that could happen was destined to happen in the infinite time of the gods, he had always thought so. Epimetheus had not supported Prometheus' move before, but the other party clearly did not care about his foolish brother's advice.
For the past few years, the Seer watched humans offer the best parts of cattle and sheep to the gods, and the best grains as tribute, and at first, he took it for granted. But later, as time passed, Prometheus, who ate and lived with humans, became a little unbalanced.
The blessings given by the gods are only a small use of authority, and do not affect their power much, but the tribute provided by human beings is real, and the more they give to the gods, their own lives will be significantly worse.
If the gods really needed these tributes, then Prometheus accepted them in exchange for blessings, but he knew very well that the gods didn't really need them. They rejoiced in the piety of mankind on the front foot, secretly rejoiced in the existence of the power of faith, and then discarded these tributes on the back foot.
Seeing the fruits of his creation's labor being wasted in this way, the seer couldn't help but have some thoughts in his heart that he shouldn't have.
"And why are you here?"
A little irritable, Epimetheus knew that Prometheus would not end well. He persuaded the other party, but on the one hand, there was no result, and on the other hand, he himself felt that this could not be changed, so he had to let it go, but this did not mean that he felt good.
Even towards humans, this creation that had some good feelings, he also had some bad feelings.
"If I had to say it, it would probably be for the sake of witnessing."
After a slight groan, Ryan said slowly.
"Witness sin, witness sacrifice, and, of course, wait for someone."
"There are not many people in this world who meet my requirements and have 'potential', but I think he is one."
What Evangelin could feel, so could Lane. That pure and powerful faith attracted his attention at the first time.
When the Lord of the Spirit Realm looks to the past, the traces of history are clearly visible, but this is not enough. The most ancient human king still had illusions, after all, he had never really seen the cruelty of the gods to humans. So Ryan wasn't in a hurry to contact him, just a little attention.
He believes that the most brilliant flowers can bloom only when the truly outstanding heroes are under the strongest emotions.
As for Ryan, he didn't have to do anything. After all, the gods on Mount Olympus are like that.
