(3) Cultivating character: There is only a thin line between understanding and confusion

Govern the mouth, do not discuss the short and long of the person

Zhikou is to be cautious in words, that is, not to discuss the short and long of people, Zeng Guofan followed especially not to talk about people behind his back. In China, there is a saying that "trouble comes from the mouth", and Zeng Guofan played into it, saying in a letter to his younger brother: There are many changes in the world, and the truth of the changes is even more imperceptible. Human feelings are difficult to know, and the way of heaven is even more unpredictable, so don't talk about things elsewhere without fear. Confucius said, "If you hear more than you are suspicious, be cautious about the rest", the younger brother has not heard much, but if he is suspicious, he is not at all, and his words are even more careless. Chasing the wind and catching the shadows, deducting the plate and the candle, you must decide the affairs of the world. Is it really so easy to break things in the world?

Regarding Zeng Guoquan's shortcomings of self-esteem, Zeng Guofan, as a brother, was beaten violently. Once Zeng Guoquan read an article in the Tang Dynasty and concluded that so-and-so in the article was a villain and a gentleman. Zeng Guofan disagreed, he thought that right and wrong have a scope of application, so it was easy to conclude that it was because he did not have deep experience and regarded the world and future generations too lightly, so he wrote and said: An article can let the people of the world and future generations know that so-and-so is a villain, etc., and it is inevitable that the article is too important, and the world and future generations are too light. The right and wrong that is discussed in this room may not be taken seriously by another room, and the statement will change even more if it is changed in another place. The Magi who are admired by the people of this country are not considered to be Magi when they change to another country, and if they are transferred to another province, they will change many times instead of once. How much more about the world? How much more the Hereafter?

In fact, Zeng Guofan himself also had problems in his early years of judging the quality of the head and the length of the discussion. His friend Chen Zuomei said to him: "Seeing that the world is full of bad people, it is better to see that all the world is good people, and have a heart of edification to make people happy and good." Zeng Guofan's diary said: Chen's words are "satirical about the shortcomings of good people in recent days, and it is not good to see many people."

Because of the jealousy of others due to the "oral disaster", Zeng Guofan conducted a profound review during the mourning period. In fact, since he led the Hunan army to the east, Zeng Guofan has won and lost, and has encountered walls everywhere, and the reason for this is that he did not have the full trust of the Qing government and did not grant real power to the local government, and at the same time, Zeng Guofan also realized that he also had many weaknesses in self-cultivation, and he was stubborn, pretentious, and blindly brutal in dealing with people. Later, in a letter to his younger brother, he talked about the gains brought about by the change in his way of dealing with the world: "My brother asked himself that in recent years he has only repented. In the past, my brother was very conceited, he could bend and stretch, he could hide it, and he saw that others were not. Since Ding Si and Wu Wu repented and realized, they knew that they had no skills, and they could see that others were good at everything. Therefore, since Wuwu has been nine years, it is very different from before the age of forty. Those who stand up, strive for self-improvement, and stand still; Those who reach the level will work harmoniously and will work. A year later, when he went out of the mountain again, Zeng Guofan became good at socializing, and he admitted to himself: "Yu has been out again for ten months." On the indignation of the heart, the ambition is to level the thief, which is not as good as the previous one; As for the thoughtful entertainment, the letter must be replied to, and the public service must be completed today, it is far better than before. In the past, Zeng Guofan was very disgusted with the welcome, flattery and corruption of officialdom, and did not want to be in company, so everywhere he went, he often had conflicts with people, so he was excluded, and often became the center of public opinion and irony. And the habit of accumulating cannot be leveled, but it has become a generous and intense, and the way of Xuan Shuang is dirty, and the desire is a little easier for thirty or forty years to be neither white nor black, not painful, not itchy, and unbreakable habits, and overkill, or inevitably flow into the bias of will, so that it is repeated to make mistakes, and to ridicule and take revenge. "However, after profound psychological reflection and years of practice, Zeng Guofan is very truly aware that he alone cannot reverse the situation of officialdom, and if he continues to be an official, then the only way is to learn and adapt." In previous years, I was in the officialdom, and I was at odds with the officialdom, and I was almost everywhere. This time, I changed course and felt a little peaceful. This change shows that Zeng Guofan has become more and more shrewd and expansive in the ups and downs of the Huan Sea.

Don't be jealous when you see others getting successful personalities, but secretly make up your mind to surpass him, which is the best way to truly acquire successful personalities. If you don't recognize this, it will be very scary, and you will only be angry with yourself. The reason why Zeng Guofan has acquired a successful personality is because he is open-minded and open-minded, and he has a healthy life. More than one person whose ability exceeds oneself is equal to more than ten people who are about the same ability as oneself. This is the real key to a successful personality.

Patience is the first priority

The passable personality can easily make people stop or give up halfway. The great undertakings of the world are by no means accomplished by those who are "passable and impatient", and only those who are resolute, hard-working, and very enthusiastic can accomplish these undertakings. A person who is energetic, planned, and far-sighted will surely move forward with all his heart and soul, and they will never think of the words "getting by, lack of patience".

Zeng Guofan's way of government is: "Patience is the first priority for officials." ”

Some people can deal with one troublesome thing, and they can deal with two troublesome things, but they can't bear to deal with three or more troublesome things; Some people can encounter a small trouble, but once they encounter a big trouble, they can't stand it; Some people can deal with other people's troubles, but once they encounter trouble, they can't stand it.

In Zeng Guofan's view, the reason why politics is annoying is because troublesome things often follow one after another, and you can't push it off, you can't hide it, it's rare to be quiet, it's rare to be comfortable, it's rare to be chic, why do you say "no official is light"? Just because there aren't so many troubles.

Therefore, the first thing to do to cultivate the mind of political leaders is to train themselves not to be troubled, not impatient, not resentful, and sober. Only by being sober can we stay quiet, only by being quiet can we stabilize our subordinates, and only by stabilizing our subordinates can we make decisions. Otherwise, the impatience and fiery nature will only make the development of the situation more chaotic.

Zeng Guofan had a deeper understanding of Geng Gongjian's "patience as the first priority" in officials, and he thought that being an official was like this, and leading soldiers was the same. One day, Zeng Guofan received a letter from Zeng Guoquan, in which he said: "I am not happy to look up and breathe on the puppet and bloody generation." Zeng Guofan earnestly warned his younger brother that this had already shown signs of impatience, and he was afraid that it would be difficult to get along with others in the future. The advantage of being patient is to be calm and calm, and only by being calm and calm can we produce wisdom, so that we can not be alarmed, and we can be as stable as a mountain.

In 1862, Zeng Guofan led his troops to pursue the Twist Army. One night, the troops were stationed in Zhoujiakou (now Wanzai County, Jiangxi), and the Hunan army guarded only more than 1,000 people. Qian Yingpu, the shogunate clerk, hurriedly said to Zeng Guofan: "It's already midnight, and the battle will definitely not work, and I am afraid that it will be dangerous to break through." But if I stand still, pretending not to know, he will be suspicious, and he may retreat without a fight. Zeng Guofan was bedridden, and Qian Yingpu was also calm. The guards guarding Zeng Guofan saw that the commander was fine, so they all calmed down and returned to normal. Seeing this, the Twist Army really suspected that Zeng Guofan had suspicious soldiers, and he hesitated, did not dare to advance, and finally hurriedly withdrew.

To cure the mind and body, there must be character

Zeng Guofan talked about the combination of mind and body, and both mouth and body. He believes that "the way to cure the heart is to remove its poison first", he is angry on the surface, has no self-cultivation, shows off to others when he has a little strength, and becomes angry when he is not a little unhappy, which is not "done by a blessed person". A person with bosom, measure, and character has a heart like a town and a rock with ambition, and no strength can be shaken.

Zeng Guofan said: To govern the mind and body, you don't have to be too much, you can't know too much, you can use it every day, but one or two sentences, the so-called abiding by the contract. When the ancients were in trouble and sorrow, it was the time for moral growth, and its merit lies in being open-minded and its effect is in good health. The reason why the sages are sages and the reason why the Buddhists become Buddhas is that they are all fighting for the day of great tribulation. Everyone has to nurture their hearts, because they must have scheming in order to live comfortably. Zeng Guofan believes that there is no need to be too much to cultivate the mind and self, and what you know does not have to be too complicated, it is closely related to yourself and can be used all the time, but one or two sentences are to keep the contract. When the ancients were in trouble and worried, it was the time when their morality and career progressed, and their merits showed open-mindedness, and their effects were manifested in their physical health. The reason why a sage becomes a sage and why a Buddhist family becomes a Buddha is that when they suffer great tribulations, they can put their hearts down, cultivate their spirits, have an optimistic mind, and have an open artistic conception, even if the body is affected by external feelings, it will not hurt the inside of the body. Zeng Guofan's self-cultivation is everyone's demeanor, because he has to do that, the world is turbid, and he has to do it.

Throughout the ages, all those who can achieve great things have the quality of "inner saint". The sage has a cloud: "The eagle stands like sleep, and the tiger walks like a disease, it is its spell to grab birds and devour people." Therefore, a gentleman must be strong on the outside and strong on the inside, and only if his talent is not successful, can he have the strength to have a long way to go. This can probably vividly explain the specific meaning of the phrase "inner saint".

Zeng Guofan practiced the Mahayana "inner sage" method, and won the essence and gist of the ancient sages and the way of an enlightened king. Relying on the Confucian etiquette that has helped the world through the ages, his personality cultivation and moral knowledge have his own special attainments, which are by no means comparable to the ordinary sinologists, physicists, and writers of the time.

The so-called treatment of the mind, that is, the kung fu of "suffering its mind" and "benefiting what it cannot" mentioned by Mencius, is the first lesson before "the heavens will descend on the great task". Li Hongzhang said: "The success of my teacher is also good governance. ”

In modern Chinese history, the person who deserved the most reputation during his lifetime and after death may be Zeng Guofan. The suppression of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the initiation of foreign affairs made Zeng Guofan win the crown of "Zhongxing Famous Minister"; Dealing with the Tianjin teaching case and flattering the foreign and abusing the people made him discredited, and he almost became a rat crossing the street, and "the people of the country scolded him". Zeng Guofan said that in his later years, "he painted snakes and added enough brushes". Wang Yun, a generation of "Confucianism", criticized Zeng Guofan's life for "making mistakes for prudence and making all the people miserable, but still having a clear conscience, which is a Confucian sin, similar to Zhang Jun."

Because of the different positions, the evaluation of Zeng Guofan will of course be very different, and even opposing views. But there is also a common word, that is, it affirms his self-cultivation technique of strong will and healing the mind.

He Shang, the governor of Jiangsu, wrote to the Qing court: Zeng Guofan experienced "several years of ups and downs and hardships, and fought for his life with a desperate end; When the danger is shaken, every hundred turns and no return, cover what he will learn is not changed by death and life." Li Hongzhang commented that his teacher's success was because of "the spirit of perseverance, the strength of perseverance, and the far-reaching strategy, which are always the same, and perseverance", which also said that Zeng Guofan won with his will and character.

The more thorough dissecting of Zeng Guofan's will and character is Liang Qichao. He said: "Whoever has been able to accomplish great things in ancient times will be the one who is very strong in his own victory." "Ambition is not enough, energy is not enough, only perseverance is enough." Zeng Guofan's "After the success is decided, the commentators think that the time will be the only one; And how do you know that it has stopped working hard, the baht has accumulated inches, and there are no turnbacks, and there is still today. If Zeng Wenzheng's perseverance is slightly insufficient, he is a failure, and there is no suspicion."

In his early years, Zeng Guofan followed Tang Jian, Wu Ren and other masters of science to study the study of sexual science, and was deeply influenced by Wang Fuzhi's (Chuanshan) thought of applying the world, and paid attention to combining the two to elevate to the ideal and spiritual realm of life, that is to say, Zeng Guofan attached great importance to character cultivation and self-improvement, and he was able to have the effect of a foreign king and become a "man who does things and preaches", which cannot but be said to be the law of inner sage.

Zeng Guofan summed up a set of methods for cultivating the heart and curing the heart, cultivating oneself and enlightening the Tao, such as "Five Things of the Law of Health Preservation", "Eight Sayings", "No Resentment and No Seeking Four Proverbs", "Thirteen Character Gong", "Dongpo Five Character Formula", "Eight Virtues and Self-Encouragement", "Four Words and Proverbs", "Da Sheng Compilation of Six Character Formulas" and so on. Some of these proverbs for spiritual character cultivation are derived from the accumulation of experience of his grandparents and his own people, such as "sleep (sleep), food (eating) is constant" and "wash his feet every night before sleeping" in the "Five Things of the Law of Health Preservation", which his father practiced for 40 years, and he insisted on it for 7 years after studying it himself. "3000 steps after dinner" he tried for a year, thought it was very effective, and was determined to "never stop from the arrow"; He also affirmed that if a weak person does it for three months, "it will work wonders".

The inner saint can go to fame

Success or failure is often the main or even the only measure of evaluating people. Zeng Guofan is in Vanity Fair, and he is good at fame. It is believed that "the bending and stretching of the individual, the hunger of the family, and the reputation of the world are not enough to worry", and the virtuous do not ascend to a high position, and the talented cannot exert their abilities, and the world will become more chaotic and ungoverned in the day. This is undoubtedly the embodiment of his noble spiritual realm. After enjoying the fame, he advocated for the world with humility and sincerity, knowing that "Zhongxing" was hopeless, but he tried his best to live and die. He also said that "it is ominous to suddenly enjoy the great name", and what is gained by chance will also be lost by chance, which is the reason for having no foundation and no education. He also believes that people who have achieved great careers throughout the ages are people who are extremely tired physically and mentally, but if they can cope with it, there must be a place for their hearts to "survive and recuperate". He cited Ximenqing and Su Shi as examples to illustrate that "leisure is to replenish the heart", not "let go (indulge) the heart". It is related to "leisure is supplement", and "learning is righteousness". People are not born to know it, but they can be taught, and this teaching includes self-education and self-improvement.

Zeng Guofan "did not follow empty words" in his life and paid attention to practical results. Dealing with the mind is not just a matter of expounding theories, but of putting them into practice. He said: "My generation should not govern the mind and body, and the reason should not be too much, and the knowledge should not be too mixed. ”

Zeng Guofan's inner sage's merits, the effect of receiving foreign kings, and the cultivation of the mind and body, both Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. This point attracted the attention of Mao ** in his early years. In Mao's early notebook-style diary "Lecture Hall Records", there are many aphorisms and aphorisms in Zeng Guofan's heart management, such as "The more the spirit is used, the more it will come out, and it should not be too cherished because of the weakness of the body; The more bitter the wisdom is, the clearer it is, and it should not be destroyed by circumstances", "The heart is often used, it is lived, and if it is not used, it is suffocated, if it is often used, it is fine, and if it is not used, it is coarse".

Zeng Guofan's success in self-cultivation also attracted the attention of Chiang Kai-shek. In the 20s of the 20th century, after studying Zeng Guofan's various anthologies and posthumous collections, Jiang felt that "his painstaking perseverance is enough to be a teacher for our people", and he was ready to focus on the content of "curing the heart" and "extracting his words and deeds, which can serve as a guide for future generations, and become a book" as a teaching material for the Whampoa Military Academy. However, the famous general Cai Ye took the lead and compiled the "Quotations of Zeng Hu Zhibing", with a preface by Liang Qichao, which was published in Shanghai in 1917. Chiang Kai-shek was satisfied with Cai's book, but felt that the most important part, that is, the content of Zeng's "painstaking perseverance" that made it successful, was missing. In his opinion, this is tantamount to not digging out the source, so he "chooses the most important ones of Zeng Hu's words and lists them separately", believing that this "can be the law of future generations".

Zeng Guofan paid attention to spiritual cultivation, character cultivation, and will tempering, which cannot but be said to be a spiritual tonic for those who "worship money" and "fetish". Of course, Zeng Guofan was a figure of that era after all, his hands were stained with the blood of peasant rebels, and the Qing Dynasty he maintained with blood was a family world that was declining and decaying, and Wang Yun said that he "made all the people miserable, but still had a clear conscience", which is reasonable.

Zeng Guofan's "inner sage" method has been cultivated with a righteous spirit, and he has never shirked his responsibilities or looked forward to the future, and that stubborn spirit is always in his chest, which is sighing. From the time he arrived at the Hanlin Academy, until his death, he did his best, was strict with himself, and remained loyal and self-controlled, which was not only rare in that era, but also probably not inferior to the ancient virtuous ministers.

In the first year of Xianfeng (1851), Zeng Guofan, as a registered squire, practiced the regiment and trained bravery, and he often said that the more difficult the situation, the more necessary it is to have a firm will. When it came time to move to Jiangxi, the situation was even more embarrassing, the development of the situation was not satisfactory, and all the actions were mostly moving; A penny and a grain of grain, if you don't work hard, you can't get it; If a general is brave and brave, he cannot participate in the war if he does not admonish him diligently. It was in this hardship that Zeng Guofan established a tenacious will, and finally trained a strong team, annihilated the "Liukou", and assisted the emperor's Zhongxing business. Although in a difficult and troubled environment, a person's noble virtues and superb skills can be cultivated, and perseverance regardless of external pressure can increase people's intelligence and ability, but when it was difficult to start a business, there was indeed a tenacious strength of the "inner saint".

He was light and frugal all his life, and often gave people a feeling of poverty in his family. All the wages he received for his official duties were used for official work, and he did not build a house or buy a piece of land. eats vegetables, wears thin clothes, is willing to be indifferent, and does not even eat more than four dishes at a time. The marriage of men and women in his family cost no more than 200 taels of silver, and it was passed down from generation to generation as a family rule and family motto. His inner cultivation has the legacy of Yang Juan, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, and Li Liu, who was the prime minister of the Song Dynasty.

He is a peaceful and simple person, and does not seek to be different. He is strict and persistent, one is "not gossiping", and the other is "not getting up late". Even if you appease people in foreign countries externally and accept surrender internally, you must be open and honest in your interactions, and your words will be simple; For people from home and abroad, he treats each other with sincerity, and is recognized by others as serious and meticulous. Whether it is in the military camp or as an official in the imperial court, he has never slacked off from morning to night, even in the stormy weather, when he is sick and worried, he often gets up as soon as he hears the rooster crows, and does not rest until the middle of the night, which is the same for decades.

In the world, only those who are truly "inner saints" can achieve success, and only those who are stubborn and sincere can receive practical results. Trickery and hypocrisy, of course, can be a temporary advantage, but in the end it is bound to fail. Zeng Guofan's life's career relied on the word "inner saint" to succeed.

Zeng Guofan was born in the mountains of Hunan, and his upright personality made him "hypocritical" and "clumsy". His "honest" attitude not only helps him succeed in his career, but also changes the temperament of others.

Li Hongzhang was his student, and his talent was appreciated by Zeng Guofan, and he thought he was beyond it, but his hypocrisy of Jiangnan people was far from being seen by the simple Zeng Guofan. He saw that Li Hongzhang's talent was usable, and his flamboyance was his weakness, so when Li Hongzhang entered the shogunate of Zeng Guofan for the first time, Zeng Guofan took out his "inner sage" method to sharpen his students.

Later, Li Hongzhang's achievements were not caused by his teacher's hard work.

The so-called "inner saint and humble sincerity", in modern terms, means "burying one's head in hard work", that is, doing more practical work and not doing verbal propaganda. Although this cannot fully include the meaning of the word "humble sincerity", its essence lies in this, so the person who speaks big and does not know how to bury his head in hard work is the one that Zeng Guofan despises the most. And the leaders of his Hunan army are all people who are not good at talking, and he believes that the victory of the Hunan army depends on this - "inner saint and humble sincerity".

△ Decryption of Zeng's Ring Character:

The method of abstaining from arrogance - willing to accept criticism from others Zeng Guofan tried to refrain from being arrogant, believing that the word "proud" can make people in a state of blind arrogance and rejection of criticism. In his family letters, he talked about the truth that we should guard against arrogance, and the effective way to do this is to accept criticism from others. There is a relationship between people who criticize and be criticized. Some people are extremely reluctant to accept criticism, and once they encounter such a situation, they will be angry, so whether they can accept criticism has become a major obstacle to whether many people can get rid of their pride, which shows whether they are open-minded.

Some people say that everyone is not smart enough for at least 5 minutes a day, and wisdom seems to have a sense of powerlessness. Ordinary people are often angry at the criticism of others, but wise people find ways to learn from it. Rather than waiting for our opponents to attack us, we should take the initiative to accept criticism ourselves. The adversary's perception of us may be closer to the truth than our own present point.

Here is a story about the protagonist of the story, whose name is Howell, and he knows the art of being a human being.

On July 31, 1944, the news of Howell's sudden death at the Ambassador Hotel in New York shocked the nation. Wall Street is even more agitated, because he is a leader in the American financial community, having served as chairman of the American Business Trust Bank and serving as a director of several large companies. With a limited formal education, he worked as a clerk in a small country shop and later as a credit manager at U.S. Steel, and worked his way up to greater positions of power.

When asked about the secret of his success, Mr. Howell once said, "For a few years I had a notepad to keep track of what appointments were in a day. My family never expected me to be at home on weekend evenings, because they knew that I often set weekend evenings for self-reflection and to evaluate my work during the week. After dinner, I opened my notepad alone and reviewed all the interviews, discussions, and meetings that had taken place over the past week. I asked myself, 'What did I do wrong?' ''What's correct?'' What else can I do to improve my performance? ''What lessons can I learn from this experience?'' This kind of weekly review sometimes makes me unhappy. Sometimes I can hardly believe my recklessness. Of course, as I get older, this situation is becoming less and less, and I have always maintained this habit of self-analysis, which has helped me very much in my art of being a human being. ”

Ordinary people are often angry at the criticism of others, but wise people find ways to learn from it. The poet Whitman once said, "Do you think you can only learn from those who like you, admire you, and approve of you?" Wouldn't there be more lessons to be learned from those who oppose you and criticize you? ”

We should recognize and deal with our weaknesses ourselves before others catch them. Darwin did just that. By the time Darwin completed his monumental work, The Origin of Species, he realized that this revolutionary doctrine would surely shake the entire religious and academic world. Therefore, he took the initiative to start self-criticism, and spent 15 years constantly checking the information, challenging his own theories, and criticizing his own conclusions.

Would you be angry if someone called you stupid? Indignant? Let's take a look at how Lincoln dealt with it.

Lincoln's Secretary of the Army, Edward Staunton, once scolded the president in this way. Staunton was angry because of Lincoln's interference. In order to please some self-serving politicians, Lincoln signed an order to mobilize the Corps. Staunton not only refused to carry out Lincoln's order, but also accused Lincoln of being stupid enough to sign it. When Lincoln was told about this, Lincoln calmly replied, "If Staunton calls me stupid, I'm probably really stupid, because he's almost always right." I'll talk to him personally. ”

Lincoln actually went to see Staunton. Staunton pointed out that his order was wrong, and Lincoln reversed his order. Lincoln was very receptive to criticism, as long as he believed that the other person was sincere and intended to help.

You and I should welcome such criticism, because we can't always be right. Even President Roosevelt could only expect to be right three out of four. Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist of our time, once admitted that 99% of his conclusions were wrong.

The French writer Larous Faucou once said, "The enemy's opinion of us may be closer to the truth than our own." ”

This statement is very true. However, when you are criticized by others, if you don't remind yourself, you will still take a defensive posture without thinking. Whether it's right or not, people always hate to be criticized and like to be appreciated. We are not logical animals, but emotional animals. Our rationality is like a boat in a stormy ocean of emotions.

When we hear others talk about our shortcomings, find a way not to rush to defend ourselves. Because every mindless person is like that. Let's be smarter, and more modest, and we can say magnificently: "If you let him know my other shortcomings, I'm afraid he will criticize him even more!" ”

Now comes up with another idea: when you're angry at a malicious attack, why not start by telling yourself, "Wait a minute...... I wasn't perfect. Even Albert Einstein admitted that he was wrong 99 percent of the time, and maybe I was at least 80 percent wrong. This criticism may have come at the right time, and if so, I should thank it and think of ways to benefit from it. ”

Charles Lukeman, the president of a large American company, once asked Bob Hopper to appear on the radio for $1 million. Bob never reads letters of appreciation, only letters of criticism, because he knows that he can learn something from it.

In order to understand what was lacking in management and operations, Ford Motor Company invited employees to criticize the company.

There was a soap salesman who often took the initiative to ask people to criticize him. When he started selling soaps for Colgate, there were very few orders. He was worried that he would lose his job, and he was sure that there was nothing wrong with the product or the price, so the problem must be with him. Whenever he failed to sell a pitch, he would walk down the street and think about what was wrong and was not convincing enough. Or is there a lack of enthusiasm? Sometimes he would turn back and ask the merchant, "I'm not here to sell you soap, I want your opinion and correction." Could you please tell me what I did wrong? You have more experience than I do, and you have a successful career. Please give me a little correction, it doesn't hurt to be blunt, please don't keep it. ”

His attitude earned him many friendships and valuable advice. Want to know his development? He later rose to the position of president of Colgate, the largest soap company of our time. He was Mr. Little.

Only a wise man with a big heart can be on par with Howell, Lincoln, Little, etc. When there is no one around, why don't you ask yourself: What kind of person do you really belong to? Write down the wrong things you have done and make self-criticisms. Since we are not perfect people, why not welcome constructive criticism? If you don't understand this, it will be difficult for you to quit your arrogance and become a popular person.
