Chapter 6: Secrets and Patronus Charms
"Fred, George?"
Ginny screamed in horror with a panicked face. However, Fred, who was quick to go, covered his mouth.
"Be quiet, Ginny, Filch isn't far away!" George hurriedly said.
"Why are you here?" Ginny lowered her voice and said in a panic. Her heart was beating so fast that it felt like it was about to jump out of her tiny chest!
'When did they appear next to me?' β
Did they see me talking to the journal? β
These two questions kept echoing in her mind, and Ginny felt as if she had been pressed to the execution table, waiting for the executioners George and Fred to open their mouths and swing an axe to separate themselves from the diary!
Neither of them mentioned anything about the diary, though.
"Sorry to scare you." Fred let go of her slowly, smiled and said, "I'll explain it to you later, come with us now!" β
With that, the two of them couldn't help but pull Ginny out of the medal room and walk in one direction. As she walked, Ginny heard a shrill voice getting closer.
"It's Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts, and he's probably the most annoying person in the whole school." Fred whispered in her ear, "Oh, and Snape. β
"If he catches him, it will be bad, Professor McGonagall will deduct points for us, and to be honest, it's nothing. But it would be boring for us to confine ourselves and write reviews. "It's good that he hasn't caught us since first grade, right, Fred." β
"That's right!" Fred triumphantly led Ginny to a statue of a witch, and by this time she could hear that the caretaker named Filch seemed to be very close, and perhaps a turn would have caught them!
"So what are we going to do?" Ginny wasn't as flustered as she had just been. Fred and George did scare her, but she thought she had been found out about her communication with the journal.
"Of course we have a secret weapon!" Fred triumphantly drew his wand and struck the one-eyed witch twice on the head, "Left and right separation!" β
The next moment, in Ginny's surprised gaze, the stone statue actually separated from the middle, revealing a secret passage of a black hole.
"Get in!"
The three men immediately went inside, and the statue slowly closed.
"Fluorescent flicker!"
"Let's wait here." Neither Fred nor George offered to continue along the secret passage.
"Where does this secret passage lead?"
"I can't go anywhere, because the front is blocked." Fred lied, pretending to be light-hearted.
As glad as his sister wasn't as boring as Percy, or even much better than Ron, it wasn't a good thing to tell her the secret way out of school in the first year.
Fortunately, Ginny was now thinking about something else, so she didn't suspect them at all.
"How did you find me?" Eventually, she asked the question she was most concerned about.
"To tell you the truth, we saw you as soon as you came out of the tower." George said.
"You've been following me?" Ginny's eyes widen!
If so, wouldn't they have discovered that he had been communicating with Mr. Riddle in his diary from time to time?
"Of course not! We're not that bored. Fred immediately denied it, "Actually, we were going to go to the Forbidden Forest to have a look, but we were only halfway through when we found that you were almost caught by Filch, so we came to save you, right, George!" β
"That's right." George smiled and nodded.
"But how did you know Filch and I were here?"
"That's our secret!" Fred and George looked at each other tacitly, and laughed at the same time, "For the time being, we don't plan to make this secret public. Not even you can Ginny. β
"Secretβ" Ginny looked at them scrutinizingly, but none of the twins gave in, "Well, I'm used to it anyway. What's more, who doesn't have a secret? β
As she spoke, she subconsciously hugged the diary she was holding in her arms tighter.
Fred and George didn't notice her little move, but laughed: "Come on, Ginny, you don't call it a secret!" Pretty much everyone in the family knows you like Harry. β
"Except for little Ronnie!" George added.
"You're right, except for little Ronnie, he's really a kid who doesn't grow up." Fred laughed and shook his head.
Hearing this, Ginny immediately blushed.
But unexpectedly, not only did she not get angry, but she felt happy and proud: I'm afraid you'll never know what my real secret is!
After a while, Fred took out the map of the living spot while Ginny didn't notice him, glanced at it quickly, and put it away again.
"Alright, let's go, Filch is on the sixth floor now, Peeves is hanging out with him, maybe he's getting him in trouble." He gloated.
"What? But how do you know? β
"It's all said, it's a secret, the secret isβyou can't say it!" George opened the door of the secret passage, and there was no one outside the door, "By the way, this secret passage is also a secret, don't tell it." I don't want to turn this into a Gryffindor common room. β
"You two won't tell me your secrets, but you want me to keep them a secret from you?"
"Don't forget why we're here β to save you. Or you're doomed! β
"Definitely going to be expelled!"
"Well, I don't want to be ungrateful." Ginny said helplessly.
Then, the three of them returned to the tower together.
The fat lady was not surprised at all when she saw them: "Password, child. β
"Honeyeaters."
Back in the dormitory, Ginny crept into bed so as not to wake her roommate, she wanted to talk to Mr. Riddle about the Special Contribution Award and other events that had happened tonight, but before she could pick up her pen, sleepiness had already flooded her mind, making her head dizzy. In the end, she could only hurriedly write down the sentence: good night - and fell asleep.
"Good night, and have a good night, Ginny."
Cyrus replied, and resumed his work on the spell.
Although Voldemort was very talented in his youth, he was still too inexperienced and knowledgeable, and there were some spells that he did not know.
- Patronus Charm.
To successfully use this magic, the caster must focus on recalling the happiest memories they can think of. Sadly, Voldemort, who didn't understand what "love" was, naturally didn't understand what "happiness" was.
Of course, with Voldemort's ability, it doesn't make a difference whether this spell will be used or not.
But for his part, Sellers still hopes to learn the spell.
Patronus charms are useful in defending against dark magic and dark creatures, but repelling Eaters of Souls is only a small part of its usefulness.
