Chapter 19: Dumbledore is led astray by Ginny
"So, you met Dumbledore?"
In the memory space, Cyrus's face is not very good-looking. He only found out about it the next night. When Ginny returned to her bedroom last night, she fell asleep.
"Hmmm! Headmaster Dumbledore brought up your business, and though he didn't name it, I knew it was you. Ginny said excitedly, but then, Cyrus's words were like pouring cold water on her.
"Maybe I've been exposed." Cyrus exhaled heavily, trying to calm his emotions as much as possible. He didn't expect to wait for so long, and in the end, he got such a result.
After all, he and Riddle are not the same person, and their attitude towards Ginny is different, and a little coincidence is enough to make the outcome of things very different.
But—
There may be hope. He thought.
If Dumbledore thought he had everything under control, he wouldn't have been so eager.
Just like Quirrell last year, it was a natural fit to use it as a tool for his savior.
'There's room to manoeuvre!' ’
Sellers forced himself to compose. In fact, he couldn't be sure what Dumbledore's intentions were, but it had been almost twenty hours since Ginny had met him the previous night, and he was still in Ginny's hands unharmed, which meant that things had not fallen into a desperate situation.
"Exposed? But I've never told anyone about you, Mr. Riddle? Ginny was startled, and almost didn't even hold the pen steady, and said anxiously.
"It's not your fault, but magic is always unguardable. Dumbledore was a master of deception, and when he looked into your eyes, he could get a rough idea of what was going on in you. After Cyrus calmed down, he was in the mood to comfort Ginny.
"Normally, wizards always say that mind reading is not mind reading, but for an unsuspecting brain, it's actually more terrifying than mind reading."
"So, what am I going to do?" Ginny was about to cry.
She didn't want to cause Mr. Riddle to "die" like this, and she didn't want to lose such a close friend.
"Don't worry, if someone does ask you to hand me over, you can hide me. When the time comes, I'll change your memories and hide them with real memories so that no one can find me. Sellers reassured.
This is a last resort.
Once it got to this point, he didn't know when the next time he wanted to wait for another person to open the diary. And the diary was not destroyed, would Voldemort die?
Cyrus and Ginny were preoccupied on one side, and on the other, Dumbledore sat in his office, trying to think about the little details of his meeting with Ginny Weasley last night. It's a bit disgraceful to say it, but he does have a Celestial Mind on a young first-year wizard.
He really wanted to know why the other party appeared in that place so coincidentally.
But the information he received came as a surprise to him.
He put his memories into the meditation basin and stirred up, and the picture of last night immediately surfaced.
He saw himself aggressive, shamelessly using powerful magic to enter Ginny's brain and read her thoughts at that moment.
To this end, he also deliberately asked a question to lead the other party to think—"Before you leave, I want to make sure, Miss Weasley, is there anything else you would like to say to me?" ”
Ginny Weasley is clearly hiding.
At this moment, her voice kept echoing in her head: "Draco Malfoy is the heir of Slytherin!" ”
Draco Malfoy?
Even he thought it was a little ridiculous.
Salazar Slytherin had really found Draco Malfoy as his heir, he would have been blind.
It's not that Dumbledore looked down on Draco Malfoy, in fact, quite the opposite, he thinks Draco is a man of creation. But the Malfoys weren't really that qualified as a Slytherin, let alone the Slytherin heirs.
Ambition and honor?
Yes, but not much.
And- he doesn't have a parseltongue!
This was an important point, at least in Dumbledore's opinion, if Slytherin did leave any secret rooms, perhaps only the Parseltongue would be able to open the doors.
But in other words, he couldn't confirm whether there was a secret room or not. Dumbledore knew very well that the murderer of that murder fifty years ago was not Hagrid. At that time, he did not suspect that Tom Riddle did it, but the truth of many things has become more and more obvious after the washing of time.
Most of the murderers from fifty years ago were Tom. It's just that Dumbledore wasn't sure what method the other party used.
Is it a deliberate obliteration to make a Horcrux? Or was it really the opening of the Slytherin chambers, as rumored to be, of the so-called "unworthy of magic"?
"Draco Malfoy, it's not impossible. During the summer vacation, Arthur seemed to be raiding Malfoy's home. Maybe Lucius asked him to bring some of his Voldemort stuff to the school. Dumbledore guessed.
In fact, he had already guessed eight or nine. It's just that because of the sentence in Ginny's mind, the object of his current guess has been a little off. And Draco, who was supposed to return to the dungeon with the team, appeared on the third floor at that time, which was more coincidental than the appearance of the three Harry there.
As for why Ginny Weasley appeared in Hagrid's classroom where the eight-eyed spider was hidden, perhaps someone had told her that "this is not a secret room".
Fifty years ago, maybe it was his grandfather or grandmother.
"What the hell is the old stuff from Voldemort's time? The key to the secret room? Or—"
He broke away from his memory, looked at Fawkes, who was already on the verge of rebirth, and said cheerfully.
"Hurry up and get ready to be born again, old man, I may need your help."
If that old thing is the same as he suspected, then what he has not achieved for decades has finally made progress. Of course, with Tom Riddle's madness, he might have made several of them, but anyway, it would be great if he could break one now.
Fawkes lowered his head and pulled out one of his tail feathers, ignoring Dumbledore's words.
"Looks like I'm going to have to find time to visit my old friend, Horace Slughorn, who I haven't seen in a long time since he retired." Dumbledore paced in front of the window, watching the moonlight fall.
"But wait, if it's really Draco, I'm sure Lucius Malfoy will make a move."
