Chapter 69: Cornelius Fudge

During the night, Harry and Ron went to bed as usual, and waited until Neville, Dean, and Seamus had stopped discussing the Chamber of Secrets and finally fell asleep, before they got out of bed, got dressed again, and draped the Cloak of Invisibility over the two of them.

When they reached the common room, they found Ginny already sitting on the couch waiting for them.

"Let's go, let's go to the Slytherin common room first, I'll find a way to get in touch with Mr. Riddle, and he'll be waiting for us at the door." Ginny said immediately.

Walking through eerie corridors, the journey was not pleasant.

Harry had wandered around the castle several times before in the middle of the night, but he had never seen so many people after the sun had gone down. Teachers, prefects, and ghosts patrol the hallways in pairs, looking around for anything out of the ordinary.

The cloak is easy to use, but it doesn't always work, and once he and Ron were almost spotted by Snape. He always felt that Snape seemed to be very sensitive to the cloak of invisibility.

I finally made it to the Slytherin lounge, but there was no one outside the door.

"What about Riddle? You won't get caught, will you? Ron lowered his voice, a little worried, saying that there were too many teachers patrolling tonight.

"Here!"

Cyrus overheard their conversation, and suddenly revealed his true form in the air.

"I used a disillusionment spell, or I wouldn't have been able to escape the professors' observations." Cyrus followed the voice and reached out to lift Harry's invisibility cloak, then frowned, "Isn't it a little too small to drape over the four of us?" ”

"Aren't you a transfiguration spell?" Ron asked curiously.

"But I can only guarantee that I won't be detected when I'm still and if I do, the professors will notice that something is wrong." Cyrus said deliberately, now, Malfoy's body is useless.

What he wants is - Ginny!

"Ginny, let me possess you. The less one person we pass, the less danger we are exposed. "And in this situation, if I had been possessed by Malfoy, I am afraid that I would not be able to meet you normally at the end of the term." ”

Ginny didn't seem to resist at all, but instead showed a shy expression. However, Harry was a little skeptical: "What about Malfoy?" ”

"I'll let him sleep well and when he wakes up, he won't remember anything."

Ron didn't seem to be very happy to have someone possess his sister, but Ginny replied first, "So be it, Mr. Riddle is more powerful." He can protect you. ”

Cyrus quickly moved from Malfoy's body to Ginny's body, and then shoved the unconscious Malfoy back into the common room.

Then, the three of them left the castle in their cloaks of invisibility.

Both Harry and Ron had an awkward feeling that they had managed to get used to Cyrus being Malfoy and now Ginny, which was so strange. But there's no time to dwell on that at this point.

It was a starry night, and they hurried towards the lighted window of Hagrid's quarters, until they reached his door, where they took off their cloaks of invisibility.

A few seconds after they knocked on the door, Hagrid slammed the door open. They saw Hagrid with a crossbow pointed at them, and the Great Hound Tooth barked loudly behind him. This startled them all, and it was the first time Harry had seen Hagrid's attitude.

"Oh, it's you," Hagrid breathed a clear sigh of relief, lowered his weapon, and glared at them, "what are you three doing here?" ”

"What does that do?" As they walked inside, Harry pointed to the crossbow and said. And Sellers tried to make his presence a little lower.

"Nothing...... Nothing," Hagrid mumbled, "I thought ...... Never mind...... Sit down...... I'm going to make tea......"

He seemed a little unsettled, and the water in the kettle spilled, almost extinguishing the fire, and then his thick hand shook violently, knocking the teapot over.

"Are you alright, Hagrid? Have you heard about Hermione? ”

"Oh yes, I heard that." Hagrid said, his voice choked up. He could see that he did feel sorry for Hermione's affairs, but he was always nervously looking out the window, as if something even more terrible was waiting for him.

"I guess you don't have to worry too much, she'll be fine, she'll be ......"

He poured a few cups of tea for Harry and the others, but forgot to put the tea leaves, and was about to put a thick piece of fruitcake on a plate, when there was a loud knock on the door.

Hagrid's fruitcake was immediately frightened and fell, and he looked flustered.

Equally flustered were Harry and Ron, and even Cyrus was a little flustered.

Because he knew who was knocking at the door.

"Hide, it would be bad if we were caught sneaking out." Cyrus hurriedly pulled Harry's cloak of invisibility and draped them all on. The three of them huddled tightly behind the couch, and Cyrus's gasps were heavier than ever.

Dumbledore was coming in.

Seeing that they were all hidden, Hagrid grabbed his crossbow and slammed the door open again.

"Good evening, Hagrid."

Dumbledore was the first to enter, with a very serious expression, followed by a very strange-looking man.

The stranger was short, stocky, stocky, with messy gray hair and an anxious look on his face. The clothes on his body were a strange hodgepodge: a pinstriped suit, a bright red tie, a long black cloak, and purple pointed-toe boots. He wore a dark green top hat under his arm.

"That's my dad's boss!" Ron gasped and said, "Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic!" ”

"Don't talk!" Cyrus stabbed Ron hard with his elbow to shut him up.

This move apparently caught Dumbledore's attention, and his blue eyes looked at where Cyrus was hiding, and the expression on his face became playful. Soon, though, he looked away as if he hadn't noticed them.

This made Cyrus wonder if Dumbledore had seen him through the Cloak of Invisibility.

But he soon decided that this was not the case. This was no ordinary cloak of invisibility, and he believed that Dumbledore was probably only aware of the cloak, after all, he had studied it for a long time.

But he probably didn't know how many people were under his clothes.

Hagrid's face turned pale, and his head began to sweat. He slumped into a chair, looked at Dumbledore, and then at Cornelius Fudge.

"It's terrible, Hagrid," Fudge said in a crisp and quick tone, "it's terrible, it has to come." There were four attacks on Muggles, which was too much and the Ministry of Magic had to take action. ”

"I didn't, you know I didn't, Professor Dumbledore, sir......"

"I hope you understand, Connelly, that I trust Hagrid completely." Dumbledore frowned.

"But you see, Albus," Fudge said unnaturally, "Hagrid's track record is not in his favor." The Ministry of Magic had to take some action - the school board had been contacted. ”

"But Connelly, I'm still going to tell you that taking Hagrid away won't help at all."

"Look at it from my point of view," Fudge said, fiddling with his top hat, "I'm under a lot of pressure." Something had to be done. If it turns out that it wasn't Hagrid, he'll come back, and there's nothing else to say. But I had to take him away. Shouldn't I fulfill my own-"

"Take me away?" Hagrid said, shivering, "Where to take it?" ”

"It's a short time, it's not a punishment, it's just a precautionary measure. If you catch someone else, you'll be released and fully apologies......" Fudge said to himself, having come here with Dumbledore to find Hagrid, but never looked at Hagrid the entire time.

Of course, he may have felt a little ashamed, after all, his current behavior was tantamount to asking Hagrid to take the blame.

But this is very unreasonable.

There is a case where a person should not be convicted directly without evidence, even if he has a criminal record, which is unreasonable and unlawful. You know, even after Voldemort's resurrection, none of the Death Eaters who had ever been exonerated were punished without evidence.

Dumbledore, as the chief wizard of the Wizengamot, couldn't have stopped Fudge's ridiculous behavior?

No way!

However, Dumbledore, though protested, did not substantively stop Fudge.

Sellers could appreciate Dumbledore's horror even more.
