Chapter 71: Operation Tonight
It's starting to get hot.
Looking up, the sky seemed to get higher, it was supposed to be a good day to play Quidditch, but Quidditch matches have been canceled, and even wanting to go out for a walk is a luxury.
There was no one in the corridor between classes, and the professors who were shuttling around on guard did not allow anyone to stay, and even when they went to class, they had to let the young wizards line up one by one, and the deans would personally escort them over.
The whole school was in an extremely depressed state, even in the Gryffindor common room, no one was happy to make a fuss, and everyone was panicking, thinking about getting through the semester as soon as possible.
Professor McGonagall would love to have everything in order, preferably to find the successor, but there was no clue at the moment. She wasn't as able to see the whole picture as Dumbledore would, but it wasn't the worst yet. The students who were attacked are still saved, and as soon as the mandrake matures, they can wake up, and perhaps at that time, the real murderer will have nothing to hide.
For this reason, she is also worried that the attacker may kill the slain students, and the school hospital has become a "heavily guarded" place. Harry and Ron wanted to see Hermione again, but were stopped.
Right now, I'm afraid only the students of Slytherin House are not worried at all. The four men who were attacked were all mudbloods, enough to prove that their academy was not the target of that successor in the first place. Rather, the successor is likely to be one of them.
This made them very encouraged, and every time they looked at the people from other houses during class, they couldn't help but be proud.
Especially Malfoy!
When Sellers returned the body to him, he changed a little of his memory by the way. Now he didn't notice anything wrong at all, but if he carefully recalled his experience in the past few months, he would find that there were no relevant memories in his brain at all, and there was only a fog.
He didn't notice anything wrong at all, and walked around the school as if he had just been appointed president of the boys' student council.
And he was hanging out with two old friends, Goul Crabbe, and he was very happy that Dumbledore had been kicked out of school. However, he didn't hate Dumbledore or doubt Dumbledore's abilities, but he was very proud of the fact that the person who caused this was his father.
When he returned from class today, Cyrus saw Ron walking into the common room in a very angry rage, Harry and their roommate Andy were comforting him.
"Okay, Ronβdon't be like that." Andy patted Ron on the back, he himself was a wizard from the Muggle world, and he naturally hated Malfoy. But he's not as impulsive as Ron.
"If you two hadn't stopped me, I'd have punched him a few times, and I would have beaten him to death with my bare hands without a wand." Ron still regrets it when he thinks about it now.
Seeing that he was so angry, Cyrus immediately walked over and asked, "What's wrong?" β
"It's Malfoy-" Harry said helplessly, "you know how much of a bastard he is, I miss you a little bit ......" he said, Andy thought Harry was referring to Sellers slashing Slytherin at the club.
"He said that the next 'mudblood' to be attacked would definitely die, and said that it was a pity not Hermione!" Ron was annoyed and said, "If I'm the heir, I'll kill him first!" β
"He's still in a weird way with Snape." Seamus heard their conversation, and leaned in, retched, imitated Malfoy's, and repeated his words in a pretentious manner, clutching his throat:
"I knew my father was going to get rid of Dumbledore. Sir, why don't you apply for the position of Principal? β
Sellers watched his performance, a little disgusted. But Seamus didn't stop, turned his head and followed Snape's example, and shook his non-existent hair:
"Oops, Malfoy, Professor Dumbledore has only been temporarily suspended by the Board, and I dare say he'll be back among us soon." He switches back and forth between the two roles.
"Yes, that's right, sir, if you apply for this position, I guess my father will vote for you. I will tell my father that you are the best teacher here, sir......"
Seamus looked even more disgusted than Cyrus, and shook his head in disgust, "You don't know what Snape has become?" I dare say, you've never seen him so happy in your life. β
Snape was indeed a little smug, as he was not without complaints about Dumbledore. But it's not necessarily how happy he is.
What good did Dumbledore do if he was kicked out? Rather, it's the heir, what if it's Voldemort? Snape only wanted Voldemort to dieβ
Even if it wasn't Voldemort, if the other party kept attacking, then the school would have to be closed, and where would he go then? Only to go back to that filthy Spider Tail Alley.
What joy is there for him?
In the place that gave him a bleak past......
At least he bears a lot of resemblance to the boy named Harry Potter in that they both regard Hogwarts as their true home.
Then they counted Malfoy together. There was another Hufflepuff student who also upset Ron, but it wasn't much more than Lockhart.
"Do you know what that guy said? He didn't say Hagrid was the murderer! Ron said, "I think Harry is a little tempted to smash him with a book, and I'm pretty much the same." β
"We all misunderstood Hagrid." Sellers had to say regretfully.
It didn't take long for Andy and Seamus to leave, and even on days like these, the school did not announce that they were going to cancel the exams, they planned to go and revise first so that the grades would not be too ugly.
"Hermione would be very sad if she knew about it, and she probably didn't want to miss any of the exams." Sellers made a little joke to lighten the mood.
"I'm quite the opposite." Ron said, looking at Cyrus, "Are you, ......?" β
Cyrus nodded, and Ron suddenly looked happy:
"I have an idea!"
"How about I let you possess me, and then you help me with the exam?"
"Don't even think about it." Cyrus rolled his eyes, Ron really didn't disappoint in terms of opportunism, "The exam is to test how much knowledge you have, and you shouldn't run away from it." β
"You're saying that like Hermione." Ron said disappointedly, but soon, they told Cyrus about what they had found in the herb class today.
"Mr. Riddle," Harry lowered his voice, "do you remember what Hagrid said earlier?" 'If someone is looking for something, they just follow the spider and they will find the right direction'. β
"He saw the spider going to the Forbidden Forest, of course I think it may not be the Forbidden Forest, maybe not that far." Ron said almost prayerfully.
The spiders alone were enough for him, not to mention going to the Forbidden Forest!
But thinking of the Slytherin heir, thinking of the petrified Hermione, he didn't want to retreat. At least he knew Harry would never give up.
"Then let's do it tonight!"
Sellers can't wait.
