Chapter 83: A Night with a Dark Moon
"Changing your name doesn't change your situation." Dumbledore said with a blank face, looking at the two artifacts he was holding at the moment, and it was obvious that he could detect traces of magic in the crown.
Although the diary also has magical power in it, it doesn't seem to be a horcrux, there is no soul of Voldemort in it, but it is like an ordinary meditation basin, and there is no other harm.
"Looks like you're resurrected with this thing? The crown that has been missing for almost a millennium...... I guess the relics of the other two founders were also made into Horcruxes by you, right? ā
He straightened up and looked at the crown, which had already shown signs of age, it was almost impossible to repair it, and he planned to destroy it later. As for that diary, he wasn't going to leave it to Sellers either.
"Soon, the Aurors will arrive, and you will be escorted to Azkaban, but rest assured, none of us will kill you, and I confess that simply taking your life will not satisfy me. We have more ways to destroy a person. ā
With a wave of his wand, he trapped Cyrus tightly, took it from his hand, then picked up the map and looked at it quietly. The previous flames had burned the hut to the ground, and now the moonlight was above their heads.
Cyrus didn't have the ability to resist at the moment, so he simply enjoyed the moonlight with Dumbledore, even if it was only a short moment of freedom, which was very precious to Cyrus.
It's a sunny day, but a large chunk of the moon is missing, and it's not a full moon. Even if he is, Cyrus is not a Saiyan and cannot turn into a gorilla during the full moon......
But...... Probably not, but it will take a little time.
Cyrus pursed his mouth.
Dumbledore stood for a moment, and noticed that the self on the map had left the office and disappeared in a place where no one was around. He knew immediately that he had already begun to act, and now he could go back to his normal time to fill the void of the moment he had disappeared.
"It's time to go, Tom."
Sellers didn't say a word, and let Dumbledore use his magic to take him away.
-----------------
The Weasleys anxiously paced back and forth in the principal's office, and when they heard that their daughter had been taken away by the heir, and now that her fate was uncertain, Molly and Arthur felt like the sky was about to fall!
Thankfully, Dumbledore did come back eventually, but he didn't stay long before he left.
The only thing that kept them calm now was what Dumbledore had said earlier: "If nothing had gone wrong, I'm sure Miss Weasley wouldn't have had an accident." ā
Maybe this is just a relief, but after all, it came from Dumbledore's mouth, and there is a high probability that it will become a reality.
Sure enough, it didn't take long for the door to be pushed open.
Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Lockhart, who looked a little silly, stood in the doorway. They looked a little messy, but they didn't seem to be hurt, especially Ginny, who looked surprisingly good and looked healthier than at any other time in the past two semesters. The only thing that made her look a little pitiful was that she seemed to cry.
For a moment, there was silence in all directions. Suddenly, a scream -
"Ginny!
It was Mrs. Weasley, who had been sitting in front of the fire crying. She jumped to her feet, followed by Mr. Weasley, and both of them simultaneously threw their arms around their precious daughter.
Then, the woman, full of maternal love, hugged Harry and Ron hard.
"You saved her! You saved her! How do you do that? ā
"To be honest, it's not really a rescue, Ginny is fine......" Harry recalled the experience he and Ron had entered the Chamber of Secrets. He thought he was going to face a terrible monster, but in reality there was nothing. Even the identity of the heir, he listened to Ginny after he woke up.
He looked inside the office and saw that there was still no sign of Dumbledore, and he thought that Dumbledore had not returned to school until now. But Professor McGonagall is here.
So he told the story of the incident, including "Mr. Riddle," who had been with them all semester.
But they couldn't remember what "Mr. Riddle" was living in. The only thing I know is that it's a thinking thing.
"Apparently Riddle altered their memories." McGonagall sighed weakly.
"Ginny!" Mr. Weasley was stunned and said, "Didn't I teach you?" What have I been telling you? Never trust anything that can think for itself unless you see where it is hiding your mind. Why didn't you show it to me or your mom in the first place? A suspicious thing like that, apparently full of black magic! ā
"IāI don't know, forget...... Ginny still weeps sadly, "and, I don't think, Mr. Riddle may not really be that bad...... Actually, he didn't hurt me......"
"You're still speaking for him!" Ron said angrily.
Eventually, McGonagall broke off their conversation on the topic and asked, "So, where did this Mr. Riddle go?" ā
"I don't know, Professor, none of us saw him. Ginny said that the other party claimed to kill her, but in fact did not do anything. Harry was also puzzled by this, which is why Ginny had always decided that "Mr. Riddle" was not really a bad guy.
"Mr. Riddle has been arrested."
At this time, Dumbledore pushed open the door and walked in briskly, and he immediately attracted everyone's attention:
"I found his way out, had a duel with him, and defeated him. I happened to meet the Aurors at the school gate and asked them to take him away. I believe he will spend a long time in Azkaban. ā
Dumbledore said, looking at Ginny.
"Miss Weasley looks good, but it's best to check it out at the school infirmary. In addition, I have a few things here that I want to return to their rightful owners. Dumbledore pulled out a map of the living spots from his robes and gave it to the twins, returned the cloak to Harry, and finally handed the journal to Ginny.
"Sir, what is this?" Arthur asked nervously.
"It's Riddle's, something akin to a meditation basin, and I think Riddle should make up a little bit for what happened to Miss Weasley. Rest assured, this thing is not harmful. Dumbledore said with a smile.
"Professor," Harry said hesitantly, "Professor, could it be, that Mr. Riddle is not a very bad man?" ā
"Harry, why do you say that?" Ron looked at him in astonishment, "Have you forgotten Hermione?" Forgot that he wanted to put Ginny in danger? ā
"But the basilisk didn't actually kill anyone, did it?" Harry said, "Maybe he's avoiding killing?" ā
"Interesting guess Harry, I believe it's because of your own kindness." Dumbledore said happily, "What kind of person a person is, you will subconsciously think that others are like this. But you're very wrong about Riddle's inference."
He seemed to let out a very long sigh, and the whole office waited for him to say the next word.
"I don't know how he fooled you, he's always been good at demagoguery. In fact, fifty years ago, at Hogwarts, I taught him personally. He was arguably the best student Hogwarts had ever seen.
"He disappeared after he left school...... Traveling all over the world, footprints to the ends of the earth...... Sinking deeper and deeper into the mire of dark magic, mingling with the most evil guys in the wizarding world, and going through many dangerous magical transformations, it was hard to recognize him at that time. ā
"Later, he changed his identity, and we are all strangers." His gaze swept over everyone, and he said the name heavily:
"That's right, Tom Riddle is Voldemort."
Time in the office seemed to be frozen all at once, and Harry could not have imagined that he was still saying nice things about the other party just now, but in fact that the man had killed his own parents with his own hands eleven years ago.
