Chapter Eighty-Eight: Escape
Wallace continued to ride the Shattuck bird, and now it was flying quickly into the distance.
Gradually, Wallace flew for almost a long time, and he saw pitch-black, wild, creepy monsters on the plains, with whale-smooth, oily skin, and a pair of nasty sharp horns bent inward.
Its wings resemble those of a bat, but it cannot hear the sound of flapping its wings, and its claws are ugly, but they are suitable for grasping objects. Watching the barbed tail flick around like a whip, Wallace learned the monster's name, Dire, in the Dream Realm message.
Wallace didn't stop here because of the Dire, but continued to ride the Shattuck bird into the distance.
Along the way, he also saw a humanoid monster with elastic skin like rubber. The rubber-like skin is disgusting.
With hoove-like feet, dog-like faces, and pointy claws, these creatures cannot be called fully human, but they are similar to humans in many ways.
They all stand on their feet upright and lean forward, looking like a pack of dogs, all the while speaking in a hurried, crying voice.
These humanoid monsters are ghouls.
These ghoul city-states also enshrine a god in the form of a white-haired and gray-bearded old man, and from the ghouls' sacrificial vocabulary, Wallace learned that this ancient god was Nordens, Lord of the Abyss, known as the "King of the Great Abyss".
He also saw a great lake of great tranquility, which was lonely in the middle of the plain.
And on the shores of the Great Lake lies an ancient city-state. The grey stone city-state is called Eber, and the city is inhabited by creatures as old as the Great Lake.
These creatures are strange and ugly in appearance, as if they were creatures of the world that had been rudely shaped when HarmonyOS first opened.
These creatures are the same green color as the water and fog on the lake, with bulging eyes and protruding lips that cannot be closed, and are an amphibian-like race of alien humanoids.
These xenomorphs are known as Tumha, the clan gods, and they do worship an idol carved out of sea-green stone, which stands on the shores of a large lake.
The statue was a large green iguana with plate-like protrusions and tentacles on its back, a large number of eyeballs, and strangely shaped ears, and Wallace stared at these eyeballs, feeling a chill on its back and a tingling scalp.
Wallace looked at the gibbous moon hanging high in the sky, and then realized that the Tumha were dancing in front of the idols in a suffocating and terrifying way.
Sleeping Pokulug at the bottom of the lake!
The great clan god Pokulug!!
The supreme lizard pokulug!!
The Tumha danced weirdly and muttered loudly.
Listening to these words, Wallace felt that the statue was carved in the shape of Pokulug, a water lizard, and who was Pokurug?
Wallace was completely confused, but he knew from the sacrificial vocabulary of the Tumha that the lizard Pokulug was the tribal god of the Tumha people, and that he was sleeping at the bottom of the unfathomable depths of the great lake.
He was suddenly a little curious, so his divine sense reached to the bottom of the lake, and he suddenly caught a huge figure rising from the lake.
The monster seemed to sense Wallace's prying eyes, and suddenly roared, Wallace's soul was instantly shocked, his consciousness was scattered, and the whole person almost fell from the Shattuck bird.
An extremely large green iguana-like monster rose from the lake, identical to the statue that the Tumha were worshipping, with plate-like protrusions and tentacles on its dorsal back, and a large number of eyeballs, all of which turned sharply and stared at Wallace.
Suddenly, Wallace felt his soul cool, enveloped by a sense of fear, and he also felt a sense of oppression like a mighty mountain.
A warning arose in Wallace's heart, as if it was constantly warning him:
This is a true God!
I can't beat it myself!
You have to get out of here as fast as you can!!
Otherwise, they will give their souls to Him!!
"Whoosh whoosh—"
In the blink of an eye, countless black thick light waves shot out from Bokulug's countless eyeballs.
Wallace fled into the distance in a panic as the Shataq bird seemed to sense the power of these black light waves and its own dangerous situation.
So the Shatac bird desperately tried to avoid the black light waves, flapping its wings violently, up and down, and constantly dodging.
Three minutes later, Shattuck managed to escape with Wallace and flew off into the distance.
However, Pokurug did not continue the pursuit, which was also an important reason for Wallace's successful escape.
It may be that Pokurug thought that Wallace would not have managed to survive these stout black light wave attacks.
Fortunately, Wallace survived, so he rode the Shattuck bird and continued into the distance.
Along the way, Wallace also saw a number of human city-states, these human castles did not have a mechanical existence, and the architectural style of these city-states was more like the style of the Arcane Age.
In the steppes outside the city-state, dark-haired shepherds were driving their fluffy cattle and sheep towards the village.
These city-states are home to many gods of the Dream Realm, and these city-states have a variety of legends about the gods of the Dream Realm.
Legend has it that these dreaming gods could be found on towering mountain ranges, and that these dreaming gods would not live in river valleys.
And whenever the moon rises and the clouds sink, the gods of the dream realm reminisce and dance high in these mountains.
Suddenly, Wallace saw a huge figure rise from afar, its yellowish-white fangs always in a mysterious purple phosphorescence glow, and glowing with a terrifying cold light, its sharp and hateful snickering deeply engraved into Wallace's mind.
Just looking at the indistinct and indescribable figure in front of him, Wallace felt in pain, a wave of madness, confusion, and destruction that filled Wallace's soul.
And Wallace felt that there were many voices around him, and these voices kept repeating a word that looked like a name——— Nayarathotep.
Wallace's spirit was on the verge of collapse, falling straight from the Shattuck bird.
Wallace endured the pain, desperately urging the invisible thread that was wound around his body.
Suddenly, Wallace's soul was shocked, and then it was instantly pitch black in front of him, and his entire soul disappeared in the dream realm in the blink of an eye.
In the office, Wallace, who was slumped on the sofa, twitched the corners of his eyes slightly, and after his eyelids twitched slightly, he slowly opened his eyes.
Then he abruptly stood up from the couch, his expression hideous, his eyes wide open, and his eyes full of fear.
