Chapter Thirty-Four: The Town of Lane
Ryan Town is a place with a long history, which can be traced back to the wizarding era, in fact, Ryan of Ryan Town is the name of an epic wizard.
About thirty minutes later, Wallace and his party arrived at their destination, the small town of Lane.
Three steam wagons turned from the avenue to a side road, and after driving for another three minutes, after rounding a hill, a somewhat remote town appeared in front of Wallace and his party.
The houses here are a bit dilapidated, from the outside it looks full of depression, the slightly dilapidated town in front is the town of Lane, the whole town is less than 3,000 households, the town's residents mainly rely on agriculture for a living, and the only path into Lane Town is lined with farmland, but it is obvious that the farmland has not been taken care of for a long time.
As soon as Wallace's eyes flashed, his divine sense spread along the path into the village towards the town, and he continued to observe the dilapidated town with his divine sense.
The whole town of Ryan can be described as half-old and half-new, the houses outside are dilapidated and look very old, but the houses in the center of the town are very new.
As Wallace's divine sense swept across the town of Lane, he realized that there was really no one. And the whole town gave him a very damp feeling, which was strange to Wallace and unsettling to him.
The steam wagon did not stop after entering the town, but went straight to the police station in the center of the town of Lane.
Outside the police station, Wallace and his party got out of the car, all lined up in three columns on the street in front of the police station.
"Ahemβ"
Wallace stood at the gate of the police station and coughed softly, then shouted:
"Everyone, be quiet, we still don't know anything about the situation in this town now, I decided to investigate carefully, this Ryan town is not big, it is not small, we will investigate very slowly when we act together, in this case, two security officers with a squad of four senior police officers.
Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 formed teams in order, one team searched north, team two went south, team three went east, team four went west, and the rest followed me to search the town government and police station.
It's best for everyone to find a search family, mainly to search the basement, to see if there are any survivors, if there are any abnormalities, with our strength, even if we really encounter abnormal creatures, we will shoot together, even if there are really abnormal creatures, we can deal with it, and finally everyone remember, gather at the police station on time at eight o'clock in the evening. β
"Yes!"
All the officers began their detachment in order, and soon divided into five squads, the first four of which followed Wallace's instructions to search in four directions.
After leaving the two senior police officers to watch the car, the fifth team followed Wallace into the police station to search.
Forty minutes later, Wallace led the fifth team around the police station, but did not find any special clues, that is, the entire police station was filled with a faint fishy smell, which could not be smelled carefully unless you smelled it carefully, and the whole town was very quiet, but this silence made Wallace's uneasiness intensify.
The damn silence terrifies me.
After all, the documents sent by the town's police station, as well as the documents found here, all said that the disappearance of the human population in Ryan Town was indeed the work of an extraordinary person, plus the entire town was missing, it was almost certain.
"There's definitely something unusual about the town of Lane, maybe it's just that I haven't found it now, so I'll go to the town hall now to look for clues to the case. Wallace said to himself.
The town hall is only a small four-story building, but the yard is quite large
Wallace led the people to start the search from the first floor, and there were no useful clues in the entire hall, except that it was the same as the police station, and there was a faint smell of fish.
Wallace walked down the hallway, constantly searching for clues about the case.
Suddenly, at the junction of the hallway and the hallway, he found a pool of thick translucent slime. He took out a magnifying glass and looked closely, and a tiny trace of dark green blood came into view.
Wallace sniffed it through his nose, and a fishy smell poured into his nostrils.
"Sure enough, dark green blood, fishy smell, and mucus should be wrong, but why can't you find the footprints and the blood and footprints of the disappeared people? Could it be that the disappeared people are locked up? and where will they be locked up?" Wallace was puzzled.
He shook his head slightly, took a picture of the mucus with his camera, and continued his search up the stairs.
There were no new clues on the second, third, and fourth floors, and just as Wallace was walking down from the fourth floor, there was a sudden "bang!", followed by a scream.
"Ah~ah~ahβββ"
Wallace quickly ran to the first floor, and when he saw several police officers running towards the stairs on the left, he followed suit.
In the blink of an eye, Wallace ran to the staircase on the left, and he pushed away the few people who were blocking him, only to see a blood-red in front of him.
I saw that the faces of the two senior police officers were terrified, and they all fell to the ground, one with his head resting on the staircase steps, and the other against the wall, and their bodies were crossed and stacked together.
They had a big hole in their chests, and the blood had stained their clothes red, and there was blood on the floor, on the walls, and on the stairs.
"By the way, who came first?" asked Wallace aloud as he took a picture.
"Sheriff, it's me. A young senior police officer replied with a raised hand.
Wallace glanced at his badge, and then asked very seriously, "Officer Locke, did you see the murderer when you came running?"
"I just vaguely saw a dark figure jumping out of the window, by the way, I saw the murderer's hand, the murderer's hand was not like a human hand, but like a frog's foot, with webbed fingers, and the rest was not clear. "Locke Road.
Wallace looked out the window, and noticed that it was gradually starting to darken, so he took out his pocket watch and looked at it, it was already six o'clock, and said, "It's past six o'clock, Locke, you guys will clean up this place briefly, and then carry the body back to the police station." β
Wallace shouted again:
"Everyone gathered at the door, no need to search, now follow me back to the police station and stand by. β
Five minutes later, everyone in Team Five, including the four who carried the body, assembled at the door, and Wallace led them back to the police station.
Wallace commanded the two senior officers who had died to be carried to the office on the first floor of the police station, and then led people to seal most of the windows on the first, second, and third floors, leaving a total of six windows unsealed, all of which were windows on each floor near the street.
Time flew by, and as soon as they had finished sealing the windows, it was eight o'clock in the blink of an eye.
Wallace stood from the window on the third floor and looked out over the town, where there were only a handful of small three-story buildings, most of which were two-story houses.
The four teams rushed back to the town's police station one after another.
