074 Mephistopheles is confused
Rika Fujimaru felt that perhaps in the first place, they should not have chosen to talk about things at the dinner table. At least not this time, because no one ate this meal well.
Given the difference in appetite and size, she assumed that Dante was worse than she wasβat least during the relatively calm time at the beginning of the dinner, she did eat half full, and managed to drink the orange juice in its entirety. Dante, on the other hand, had barely moved the mountains of food in front of him until the banquet was over, and the two of them had left the table.
However, unlike Rika Fujimaru, who was still thinking about what to eat on the way back to the Emperor Dream, Dante's train of thought didn't stop at all on "what to eat" for even a microsecond. After the former disappeared from sight, the latter immediately began to sort out the minutes of the meeting in the servo skull, ready to hand them over to Mephiston, borrowing the wisdom of the chief think tank to judge whether the plan that Fujimaru Rika had briefly described just now was theoretically feasible.
For the original cast Space Marine, "intake of energy through food" is still an inevitable necessity of living beings, but "eat three meals a day on time" is not, and the same can be proven, "punctual rest and sleep" is not. So, even though everyone had been on the verge for a day because of the intricacies of the ceremony, Dante didn't think there would be any obstacle to finding Mephiston at this moment.
But he did hit an obstacle.
The next second after arriving at the library, the warlord was told by his servants that Mephiston, the director of the think tank, had plunged into the sea of books as soon as he finished his work today, and told the others not to bother him until he came out, and even threw a summary report of the emergencies that occurred during today's ball to his close attendant Johesilius to write.
"Did he find something?" Dante was puzzled, "Did something suddenly happen during the previous dinner time that even Mephistopheles couldn't understand?" β
This was a question that the servants and scholars in the library could not answer, so Joheselius was quickly invited out: "Lord Dante, we believe that under the command of the Imperial Saint, there are subspace entities who can come and go freely on both sides of the Veil working for her. β
This made Dante frown: "What's going on?" β
"Do you remember that during the prom, we once reported an incident of chaos caused by cult members." Joheselius explained.
"I remember. I also remember that the matter had been properly resolved and the effects were calmed down. β
"Yes. But in the processβthe matter was resolved by Lord Mephiston, led by the Think Tank, in cooperation with a Black Saint Cousin who had come out of the ranks of the Forbidden Army. We had no trouble dealing with the heretics who tried to tear the veil apart through ritual evil, and Mephiston-sama wanted to use his spell to dispel the lifeless gathered in the subspace, but he happened to see ...... 'something' that naturally passed through the veil and manifested itself as a physical entity in reality. β
Hecelius still had a look of disbelief on his face when he recounted the event, but Dante thought it was understandable: even if he didn't know anything about psionic powers, he thought it sounded very innovative: "What's next? Have you done anything about this subspace entity? β
"We don't." Jocelius's tone was mixed with a hint of regret and joy that was not easy to find, "In that moment, we were all stunned - the cultist's ritual didn't work out, but the scene at that time looked too much like 'the ritual did summon something'. Everyone was delayed for a moment, and then we found out that the black Saint brother and the ...... bits, 'subspace entities', know each other and apparently have a cooperative relationship. β
It sounded a little too new, so new that even the seasoned Dante had never seen it in his legendary career. So, his first reaction to this was: "That Black Cousin...... Is he really the Black Templar? β
"He's not just the Black Templar, he's got the Black Sword, he's the Imperial Champion." There was also disbelief in Johesilius' tone, "The Emperor's blessing cannot be faked, so we are sure of him...... It's not a camouflage of some mess. β
"What did that 'subspace entity' do?"
"It transforms into a good-looking mortal male, with black hair and black skin, dressed in white, somehow like a demon host, able to influence things in reality normally." "But he didn't do anything, he just took a piece of paper and wrote Braille, then folded it in half and gave it to the black cousin. I think it was some sort of appointment they had made up for the note to be shown to the Fujimaru Rikka shortly afterward, and then handed back to Mephiston-sama. β
"Do you know what the note says?"
"I don't know. I only caught a glimpse of Rika Fujimaru supposedly having approved it when Lord Mephiston unfolded the note, but I couldn't read the exact text. β
Dante frowned: "The chief think tank didn't say anything?" β
"After reading the note, no." Johesilius added, "But when we met the subspace entity, Lord Mephistopheles asked about its identity, and they responded. I think that's what made him bury himself in ancient texts as soon as the matter was over, trying to find out more mysteries. β
The high-level think tank hesitated significantly, but after carefully observing the battle leader's face, he decided to explain this paragraph in more detail:
"At that time, Lord Mephiston asked him, 'What are you?' I'm pretty sure there's a huge subspace force at his fingertips. But the other party was not shaken by the power that could easily destroy everything in the entire room, but only turned and replied in standard high gothic:
"'My real name is Arjuna.' "It's weird, but the subspace entity does emphasize that its 'real name' is true. Then it adds: 'If this name has been submerged in a long time, people have called me by many names, such as Winged Moonborn, Victorious Wealth, Crowned One, Victorious One, Rider of White Horses, Bearer of Bows, and many others. Now, I am only serving as a servant under the command of the crowned lord Fujimaru Rika. Then it didn't answer any other questions, wrote the note, and disappeared through the veil again. β
Jocelius paused for a moment, and finally concluded in a somewhat complaining tone: "I think that Lord Mephiston must have remembered something from this passage, so that he immediately ran into the pile of old papers the next moment he was able to get out of his work. β
Dante nodded helplessly: "Then I hope he can bring us some good news." By the way, please help me tell him that after talking to Fujimaru Rika alone, I also have some psionic problems here that I desperately need his wisdom to try to solve. β
