Section 92 Inquiry
Section 92 Inquiry
"I have something to ask you," Ashrufat said. "How much do you know about swamps?"
"Not much. Gander groaned. "I've seen swamps, though...... The smaller kind. But I know that in a swamp, things like bamboo rafts and boats work better than four legs and two legs. ā
Ashrufat perked up. He hadn't expected it at all. However, he knew before that Gander was a well-informed person, and it would be normal to say that he had seen swamps.
"How do you get water from a swamp? I mean clean water. ā
"It's hard. It's basically all about luck. Gander replied. "If I had to say, I would build yƬ carry more water bags. ā
"So, if a scout carries as much water as he can, he can be in the swamp for a few days? not an ordinary reconnaissance, but in the event of a battle. ā
"With a cautious attitude, I built it for two days, no more than three days at most. Of course, if you want to take risks, then you can extend it up to seven days. But if it's more than seven days, it's not an adventure, it's ...... The daredevils are out. Gander said.
Three days...... Considering the influence of the swamp's complex terrain, and considering the huge difference between army operations and scout reconnaissance, then Astiana is telling the truth. Nurgle's followers are like hiding in an impenetrable tortoise shell, completely occupying the strategic initiative.
Ashruphat groaned for a while. Among his current subordinates, Ashrufat relied mainly on four men. One was Tarek, the wizard's apprentice who was his assistant and advisor, but on the other hand, Tzeentch had designed a pawn to stay with him - at least that's what Eshurufat thought.
The second is Sag, and the Chaos Champion's willingness to follow him is a bonus. Sag had little interest in military command, and all he cared about was charging into battle and glorifying the god with blood. For the time being, Ashrufat doesn't know what position Sag will take against the sadistic movers in the future, but at least for now, the apocalyptic champion's supernatural combat power is useful. In addition, he is the only Chaos Champion under Aeshorufat.
The remaining two are Flint and Gander. Flint doesn't really have much merit - as mentioned earlier, he is still very young, and although he has already been favored by the Prince of Joy to obtain the status of the Chosen Warrior of Chaos, he is not really good in terms of experience or insight. His only strength was reliability - although Eshurufat did not fully trust everyone now under the influence of Tzemon, at least Flint's loyalty belonged to the taller one chosen from the shorter.
The last one is Gander. As mentioned earlier, he is a very good scout and an experienced fighter. While his fighting style may not please the Chaos Gods, on the other hand, people like him have the best chance of surviving the battlefield. And, though not sure, Ashruphat felt that Gander's keen observation and experience might not be valued by the customs of Chaos, but they were far more important in combat than muscles and blades.
"My lord?" said Gander, who was a little puzzled. Ashrufat called him over, asked a few very simple questions, and then was there in a daze.
"That's right. Ashrufat finally decided to discuss it with Gander. He briefly recounted the news he had received from Astiana. After listening to Ashrufat's detailed description, Gander thought for a few seconds, and immediately said very unceremoniously. "Can we change the target?"
Ashrufat vetoed it directly.
"There's only one way to go. Gander said quickly. "This is the method used by Lord Astiana, using decoy to lure the enemy into a decisive battle on the edge of the swamp. But, my lord, remember, you only get one chance. That Immortal Juggernaut Jakes...... I've been educated enough times before. As long as you fail this time, I'm afraid there will be no more chance to lure him out of the swamp. ā
"Defeating his army is secondary. Ashrufat said. "The main thing is to capture this immortal lord and make him immortal forever. ā
"Then I have to say, this kind of thing is all luck. Unless it's the kind of terrain that makes it impossible for the enemy to retreat, then they can only resign themselves to fate. You have to understand that even if his army is surrounded and annihilated, there is a good chance that he will escape. ā
This sentence seems unreasonable to the southern countries - because according to statistics, if an army is surrounded and annihilated, then the probability of its commander escaping is absolutely not more than 20%, unless the commander chooses to flee at the beginning of the battle, otherwise the general himself is the focus of the enemy's pursuit and siege. But on the Chaos side, this is indeed an out-and-out fact. Because starting from the Chaos Champions, these high-level believers have superhuman abilities because they have received many divine graces, which makes them have a huge difference in combat power between them and ordinary believers. Therefore, it is only natural that a general on the battlefield breaks through the enemy's encirclement on his own (or with the strength of the guards) alone.
Therefore, Astiana had previously inflicted heavy losses on the army of the Immortal Juggernaut Jakes but failed to capture him, not because Astiana was particularly unlucky, it could only be said that his luck was not particularly good.
"You're right. Ashrufat replied. "But if he escapes, it won't be long before the Immortal Lord gathers an army again. ā
"And he's going to learn to be good, and it's hard to be lured by those bait. Gander added. "So, Lord Ashrufat, if it's possible, it's better for you to change your opponent. In addition to this, I must remind you that the most troublesome thing for the followers of Nurgle is not their strength on the battlefield. ā
"Huh?" said Ashrufat, looking up at Gander.
"It's the disease. Followers of the Father of Plagues see sickness as a blessing from God, because they can drain pus from their bodies, but they can't kill them. But for believers who are not the Father of the Plague...... Those blessings have deadly power. Gander said. "For example, I would never attempt to kill a high-ranking believer of Nurgle if I could. Because as long as those disgusting juices from his body splash on me, I am afraid that I will not live long. ā
I don't know why, after listening to Gander's words, Ashrufat subconsciously remembered the Chaos wizard named Luo Jin, and the previous war.
"Is this a legend or have you seen it with your own eyes?" asked Ashrufat. Speaking of which, he saw many corpses of Nurgle soldiers on the battlefield after the battle (such corpses were very conspicuous), but he was not aware of the spread of the disease among the army.
"Legend. Gander shrugged. "I wasn't going to try to see it for myself. Almost all diseases are contagious. ā
As he spoke, there was movement at the door of the tent. Raphinia lifted the curtain door. However, she didn't seem to expect Gander to be here, so after a moment's pause, she apologized softly and left.
"Very nice woman. Gander watched Raphinia leave with an admiring expression. But the next second he realized that this was not the Asowen tribe now, and Ashrufat was not the southerner who had temporarily settled. He quickly straightened up, but saw that Ashrufat hadn't noticed what he had just said to himself, but was pondering.
"Ah, Gander, what did you just say?" Ashruphat reacted after a second.
"I said Raphinia was beautiful. Gander replied. "And, she's ...... to you With a lot of enthusiasm. ā
Tzeentch or Slaanesh's pawns. Ashrufat replied in his heart. This feeling of being controlled by people is so uncomfortable that he now doubts everyone around him. Then again, perhaps they - including Ashrufat himself - are probably pawns of the gods, but they are divided into conscious and unconscious. If there is a difference, it is that although Ashrufat is a pawn, he is an unwilling pawn, and he feels capable of trying to break free from the identity of a pawn. The rest of the Chaos cultists are willing to be pawns of the gods.
After Gander left, Ashrupha set his mind down. The conquest of the swamp is just a fluttering phrase for Tzeentci, but in reality it is almost impossible to do. Jacks, the Immortal Juggernaut, is a defender with a qiÄ advantage, while Ashruphat is an attacker with no advantage.
He turned the ring in his hand half a circle so that the side with the Slaanesh insignia was facing up, and then placed it on his forehead.
If given a choice, Ashruphat was extremely reluctant to communicate with Slaanesh. Because every kind of heart-to-heart communication with Slaanesh is a test - if you lose your mind even a little, you may never recover, and you will become a minion of Slaanesh. But he really doesn't have a choice now.
"My knight......" Slaanesh's voice is as seductive as ever, teasing your inner desires and impulses.
"There's no way to fight this one. Ashrufat said. "The conditions are so unfavorable. Can you do it another way?"
"It's the quickest way to get Nurgle to join us. Just conquer this swampy area...... The Father of the Plague must make a choice......"
"It's too hard. Ashrufat said. "It took Astiana twenty years to accomplish this task, so how can I do it?"
"Because you're special. Slaanesh's voice was as soft as the wind, but it shook Ashrufat's heart. "If there's anyone in this world who can do this, it's you. ā
"Why am I special?" asked Ashrufat.
"Watch your time. Slaanesh replied. "The person you're looking for...... I'm afraid it's now in the hands of the abusive. If you can solve this war as much as you can, then we have an army for you that has never been seen before. The call of war will draw the will and soul of the believers into your ranks. They can't wait to follow the impulses that come from their bodies and minds, eager to prove their worth in the coming battle. There, they will receive the blessings of Chaos and swear their allegiance to you. And this is the privilege of the strong, and the weak can only find their own death...... You will lead your armies to conquer the North, to conquer the places where the world itself has been torn apart, where it has been dominated by terror......"
