Dong Yong remembered that his family was poor and he still owed money to the landlord, so he refused to agree. The woman stopped from the right and left, saying that she did not love money, but only loved others and good character. Dong Yong had no choice but to take her to the landlord's house to help. The woman was ingenious, and she was weaving like flying. She worked day and night, and in only one month, she had woven three hundred feet of fine silk, paid off the landlord's debts, and on their way home, when they came to a locust tree, the woman said goodbye to Dong Yong. Legend has it that the woman was one of the seven fairies in the sky. Because Dong Yong was kind-hearted, the Seven Fairies were moved by his filial piety and went down to help him. There is a poem that says: bury the father and loan Brother Confucius, Xianji Mo meets, weaves thread to repay the creditor, and filial piety touches the sky.

Dong Yong was originally a Qianchengjin (a native of Chenhu Town, Boxing County, Shandong). At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the local division and thieves were everywhere, Dong Yong saw that Shandong was not peaceful, so he took his elderly father to De'an, Hubei for refuge. It didn't take long for Dong's father to become seriously ill, and asking a doctor to take medicine had no effect. Passed away. Dong Yong was grief-stricken, because he was wandering for refuge, where could he have the money to buy a coffin to bury his father? There was a local rich man surnamed Pei, who took pity on him when he heard it, so he lent him money and asked him to buy a coffin to bury his father. And Dong Yong sold himself into slavery and entered the Pei family.

One day, Dong Yong was ordered by his master to go out on errands. On the way back from an errand, I met a plump and beautiful young woman. The young woman said with her true feelings: 'You have not taken a wife, I am a young woman who has been abandoned by her husband.' Can I be your wife?' Dong Yong is an honest man. He was a loyal servant in society at that time. He replied to the young woman, 'I dare not make my own decisions about this matter, but I must tell my master.' The young woman laughed and said, 'Fool, why are you so afraid of your master?' I would like to go with Dong Lang to meet your master. Dong Yong took the young woman with him. Return to Pei's house together. Pei Weng happily made the decision for their marriage, and became husband and wife. And let them in a hundred days. Weave three hundred horses of silk cloth to redeem oneself and become a free peasant. From that day on, the young woman spun silk cloth day and night. Fast anomalies, very accessible. On the day before the hundredth day, three hundred horses of silk cloth were handed over to Pei Weng, who returned Dong Yong's deed of sale to him according to his own promise. Since then, Dong Yong has become a free peasant.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Dong Yong got out of slavery, the young woman suddenly said goodbye to Dong Yong, saying that she was about to leave. Dong Yong cried and said, 'I haven't had time to repay you for your kindness in redeeming me, why did you leave me behind?' The young woman replied, 'You and I are husband and wife, and I can't bear you.' However, I am the seventh daughter of the Emperor of Heaven, and the Emperor of Heaven remembers Dong Lang's filial piety, and orders me to go down to help each other. When the young woman had finished speaking, she was gone. Now Xiaogan in Hubei Province was originally called De'an, that is, because Dong Yong's filial piety touched the sky, so it was renamed Xiaogan. These primitive plots that circulated among the folk are different from the plots in the later "Tianxian Pei", but they are all myths and legends of Chongxiao. "Tianxian Pei" is actually based on this primitive myth and legend, exaggerated as 'the old locust tree opens its mouth to be a matchmaker'.

The full name of "Twenty-four Filial Piety" that records Dong Yong's burial of his father is "Selected Poems of Twenty-four Filial Piety in Quanxiang", which is compiled by Guo Jujing in the Yuan Dynasty. It is a popular book for promoting Confucianism and filial piety in ancient China. Dong Gong Yuan hung the white veil with the four bloody characters of "Selling Himself to Bury His Father" on it on the branch of the locust tree, and Dong Gong Yuan was holding the branch of the white locust tree with the four bloody characters of "Selling His Body to Bury His Father" on it, and knelt under the big locust tree, waiting for a well-wisher to put the body of Dong Gong into the ground.
