Section 7 The Mysterious Canyon

"What day is it? Riot of the Dead? Or are we partying together......"

Seeing this scene, Lance couldn't help but feel a chill in his back. He hurried back into the house and ran out with a large bag of silver crossposts.

These crossposts were very heavy to start with, and Lance estimated that they should be silver-plated, and there may have been a lot of lead or other metals mixed in them.

Following the grey-robed mage's instructions before leaving, Lance hurried to the nearest grave.

The white bone skeleton in this tomb was already halfway up, and it raised its shriveled head, and with a snap, the skeleton's head fell directly from its neck. It reached out and fumbled wildly, trying to find its head.

Lance froze, kicking the skeleton's head back to its side. Then he held a cross stake high and stuck it in front of the tombstone.

As soon as the silver cross stake was inserted into the soil by Lance, it slowly dissolved and poured into the soil under the action of a mysterious force.

The reddish-brown soil instantly flashed a faint silver light, and the silver light moved along the soil, and finally crawled onto the skeleton's body. The skeleton's hand bones and skull were immediately marked with a silver skaze by the silver light.

After a while, the skeleton stopped moving, but slowly sank.

Lance wiped his sweat and let out a long breath. The gray-robed mage really didn't deceive him, the silver cross stake could indeed suppress these white bones.

He looked around and saw that at least a third of the graves within a radius of miles had begun to tremble faintly, and a large number of white skeletons were burrowing out of the graves. Some of them are agile, and they have completely crawled out.

Fortunately, although these skeletons look terrifying, their actual combat ability is almost zero. It's completely different from skeleton soldiers or even skeleton mages under the control of necromancers.

Lance began a hectic crackdown with a large pile of crosspost cards. He ran from one grave to the other and smashed the crossposts one by one. Lance was not polite to some dishonest fellows, but simply kicked them back to the grave.

According to the fox's estimates, the strength of these skeletons does not exceed 0.4, which is not Lance's opponent at all. In addition to being a little scary at first, Lance's nerves also became numb later.

No matter how hideous and terrifying the skeletons' movements were, Lance was indifferent. Like a machine on an assembly line, he ran around with a large pile of cross-piles, mechanically completing his tasks.

This busy, busy for most of the night.

In the middle of the night, Lance couldn't remember how many skeletons he had kicked over and how many ribs he had broken.

"Whew! it's finally done!"

Lance plunged the last silver stake into a grave that was so desolate that there was no tombstone, and then panted and looked around, where he had suppressed all the rebellious skeletons in the cemetery.

And this tomb is already the last one.

It was almost two miles away from his cabin, and it was already on the border of the cemetery. To the left of Lance, there is a tall fence, and beyond the fence, it is completely outside the range of the power of the Crimson Castle.

He stood there, rested for a while, and then walked to the iron fence.

The fence was densely covered with runes that would protect the cemetery from intruders, but to Lance, it had no effect. Because his identity was confirmed by the stone platform as early as when he entered, he was free to enter and leave the cemetery. These iron fences are not obstacles at all for him.

However, he had no intention of crossing the iron fence, and he was already physically and mentally exhausted after working for most of the night.

He just stood there curiously looking at what was outside the bar, after all, he had never been here before.

"It looks desolate, but beyond the fence, it's the wild area of Ferendor. Lance narrowed his eyes and looked out.

Ahead is a small wide plain, and not far away, an ancient mountain range stands proudly. At the end of the line of sight, Lance could see a canyon that the mountain range had carved out towards this side.

There is no grass on the plains, just like in the cemetery, there is no life at all.

The moonlight shone down, and the night breeze was whining, adding a gloomy and cold atmosphere.

Lance was sweating profusely and was too hot to breathe, but he was not infected by the gloomy atmosphere. He stood there and watched for a while, feeling extremely bored, and was just about to turn around and leave, but at this time, a sharp wail suddenly came from behind him!

Lance turned around sharply, his gaze fixed on the canyon in the distance!

The voice...... Where did it come from?" Lance looked in that direction with some distraction.

The wail just now was exactly the same as the sound he had heard earlier when he was in the hut preparing to make misty matches!

At first, he thought it was a skeleton screaming, but later, in the process of suppression, he discovered that the skeletons could not make any sound at all.

That terrifying scream was undoubtedly not made from something in the cemetery.

"What's in that canyon?" Lance stood there and watched for a while, and for a long time, no other movement came out.

He was silent for a moment, then turned to leave.

Although he was curious about what was in the canyon, he had no need to risk these unknowns at all.

"As long as you don't break into the cemetery, it's none of my business. Lance thought to himself, anyway, there were a lot of magic prohibitions set up near the cemetery, and Lance was in it, and he was absolutely protected, so it was very safe.

This is one of the reasons why he chose to take care of the cemetery as a part-time job in the first place.

......

For the next few nights, there was no movement in the cemetery, and Lance didn't have to run around all night. He didn't leave the hut half a step except that during the day the next day, when he went to the castle's logistics department to replenish the silver cross.

You don't need to pay attention to the Instant Death Gem, you just need to enter the mana at regular intervals every day. The misty match is also a relatively time-saving and labor-saving magic item, and after Lance completes the initial processing, he only needs to wait for a while before it can be air-dried.

He devotes more of his time and energy to the deconstruction and memorization of spells. Even the daily meditation time was compressed a lot by him as much as possible. Because he knew that even if he continued to meditate, it would be difficult for his magic level to improve - the spell factor in the cemetery was very dull, and it was more of some impurities mixed with the breath of the necromancy, in other words, it was actually very unsuitable for meditation.

This is also for the sake of the fact that most people are not interested in taking on this task. And Lance himself was very open-minded, anyway, the quality of his meditation was not high, and before that special spell factor was researched by him, he decided to use potions as his main means of improving his magic power.

To make things more frustrating, Lance has also made some comparisons between the Arcane Ring and the Mystic Vial these days, and found that the two have no similarities other than the magic factor of the same nature. Lance tried to absorb the spell factors around the mysterious vial, but unexpectedly, the vial had a very strong attraction to these spell factors, and it was difficult for Lance to grab even a trace of the spell factor from the vial.

After a few attempts, he had to give up for the time being. He also tried to check the materials in the apprentice's library several times, but he never found the relevant records. The main reason is that the information about the rare spell factor requires a high level of permission, and Lance, as a self-funded student, cannot access such high-level information for the time being.

Unless he asked Caterina to check it out, but if he did, it would probably arouse Caterina's suspicions. And in Lance's heart, he would never go to Caterina unless he had to. He wanted to keep his secrets as much as possible in front of Katarina.

"Maybe you can try it with Regis, after all, he is a master of pharmacy, and he must know a lot of things. ”

Lance thought to himself as he repeatedly sketched the runes of [Enchantment-Electromagnetic Acceleration] on the paper.
