Section 148 Roads
Section 148 Road
Ashrufat soon found himself lost.
It's a shame to admit this, because when Ashrufat woke up from Brasian, he knew that he was a man with a lot of experience in the wilderness. And it is very difficult for a person with a lot of experience in the wild to get lost - this is not to say that they are talented, but this kind of person has long been experienced in dealing with getting lost, and one of them is to be a signpost.
In some fairy tales written for children, there are often stories of warriors traversing labyrinths that are difficult for mortals to impenetrable to find legendary treasures (or to kill legendary evil creatures). In fact, there is no such a labyrinth - because anyone who knows how to be a signpost cannot get lost - no matter how bad it is, he can return the way he came.
But now Ashruphat was indeed lost. Not only could I not find the way forward, but I couldn't even go back the way I came. He left signposts at every intersection, but the problem is that he can't find his way back at all now.
I don't know how it was - anyway, the place was full of passages, rooms, and furniture made of the same material. are all the same light of silvery-white metal. Every room is the same, every passage is the same, and even every intersection is exactly the same. You can't tell if you've been here or not.
Eshurufat came to a halt as he rounded the fortieth crossing. He is now completely certain that he has lost his direction and balance. And to make matters worse, the ring on his hand was no longer bare, and the spiritual connection between the gods and him had been completely severed. After giving him the final task, it was as if they had cut off contact with him.
Damn, what to do? Looks like I can't find my way at all. Ashrufat had given up trying to find his way again, and he had come to understand that this place was by no means as harmless as it seemed. He may go the wrong way, but he will definitely not find his way back for some reason, let alone completely lose his direction after wandering around for half a day.
This was no ordinary place! Although there was seamless metal all around, and although there was not a single moving thing in sight, Ashrufat could guess that there must be some pair of eyes watching his every move at this time.
Is it the Guardian? or ......
Ashruphat had already held the Blighting Sword in his hand, and he had now seen that the unheard of light-capable silver-white metal looked thick, but in fact it was not particularly hard - because the Blight Sword could easily cut marks on it.
He started thinking about it, and then decided that he should run a test. So Ashruphat cut a sign at the intersection and proceeded as before. This time he seemed to be searching, but in fact, he firmly remembered that he had turned a few corners. After crossing three intersections in a row, he began to return the same way in the direction of his memory. After three turns, where he left his first sign after he got lost, the walls were so smooth and neat that there were no signs to be seen.
Sure enough, the road signs will disappear...... It's not known how this was done, but it's clear that there's some kind of hidden force in control.
If there was an enemy wielding a sword at this time, Ashrufat wouldn't mind a big battle. But to deal with this kind of opponent who hides in a secret place and can't find a target, he doesn't have any special good way for a while.
What do I have to do to find it?Ashruphat took the sword and kept going. But this time, his degree slowed down. It was clear that this lurking foe would never jump out and confront him. But even with Ashrufat's senses, he couldn't find out where this mysterious enemy was hiding.
In fact, there's really nowhere to hide. As mentioned earlier, there is the same silvery-white light metal everywhere, and if there is something hidden, it can be seen at a glance. So, that hidden opponent must have some kind of special way to hide his whereabouts.
No...... Maybe it's not that simple. Ashrufat looked at the wall. If that hidden adversary has the ability to repair such metal walls (as we all know, it is 10,000 times easier to destroy than to repair), perhaps he has more mystical powers. Perhaps he didn't need to use his eyes to observe Ashrufat. Perhaps Eshurufat's efforts to find the other party were in vain.
What if he can't find the other person at all?
Wait, if you think of this as a labyrinth...... Ashrufat stopped and looked around. A labyrinth that can truly trap mortals is not the kind of labyrinth that stands still. Because if it is a labyrinth in the ordinary sense, it may be able to deal with inexperienced and unprepared people, but it can never stop people who are really experienced or prepared. In fact, there are so many ways to deal with this kind of maze, and these methods only require normal intelligence to come up with.
Labyrinths that can really block the curiosity of others, or even trap strangers, without considering the pitfalls, are the "changeable" type. Regardless of whether this change is made manually or magically, only by changing the structure of the labyrinth at any time can the trapped person eventually lose the ability to judge his or her own position.
If this is the Blood God's defense against the Guest, then this must be the type.
To deal with this kind of maze, normal practices such as "making road signs", "sticking to the wall", and "stretching the line" will not work. In fact, there is only one way to crack this maze!
Ashrufat walked around a corner in front of him and looked at the metal wall. He took a deep breath, then swung the withered sword violently, stabbing deep into the wall. With the force of his long sword, a large piece of metal was ripped off by him.
The sword is not as good as a shovel, but at least it can make do.
In just a few minutes, Ashruphat had carved a large hole in the wall that was large enough for one person to get through. Just as he thought, there was another room opposite.
Ashrufat made his way forward, violently attacking all obstacles in front of him with his long sword. If you can't find your way through a winding maze, you can't make a mistake if you follow a straight line.
He dug through another wall. The view ahead changes slightly. For the first time, he saw something beyond the silvery-white light metal - it appeared to be a warehouse, stacked with rows of dark red Chaos armor. It is also a reward that the blood god usually bestows on believers.
In the depths of the warehouse, some huge brass-colored cuirasses can be seen, placed on top of some stands. Eshuruphat had seen such breastplates—he had seen them on the Bloodfang Lords as Demon Princes, and of course the Bloodthirsty Demons.
Well, it sounds incredible, but it's normal when you think about it. Even for mortal armor craftsmen, their chances of being "made to specification" are far greater than those that are "made to measure". Therefore, it is not outrageous to say that the great god has built the armor but has not yet met the right object.
Well, the only problem is that this repository doesn't have a door.
But that wasn't a problem, and Ashrufat went in a straight line, kicking away the armor that was in the way, and digging through a wall again. This time he finally waited for a reaction.
The Blood God's voice, which was not even called "language", sounded in Ashrufat's mind again. However, although the voice was not a language, for some reason Ashrufat could clearly understand what he meant.
The Blood God let Ashruphat go, and in return, he was willing to return the Star Carving to him.
"It's too late. Ashrufat said as he looked ahead. "You should have brought it up sooner!"
What demands are made under any circumstances - this is the basis for negotiations. This is profoundly evident in every way. The conditions for peace talks before the war and those after the war are very different. Before the Wilderness Sage Garunas went to war with Tiberius, he put forward only a very tolerant condition of "remain neutral and do not support the Northern Alliance". But after the war, his demands became "land ceasion, reparations, neutrality". It's not that he's backtracking, it's because the situation is different.
Before a full-scale war with the Blood Fang Lord, this condition was enough for Eshuruphat to abandon the camp of the three great gods, and it was even possible to greatly thank the Blood God for his generosity, but now, the situation is different.
Because the capital that the two sides have at the moment is completely different.
Ashruphat continued to move forward, and another wall appeared in front of him, and he continued to use his sword to clear the way. He could clearly feel that the Blood God's voice was mixed with some additional information, but he couldn't understand it.
After this wall, a long passage appeared again in front of it. Ashrufat stepped in, and in a trance, he suddenly felt like he was in the middle of a huge castle.
It's a wonderful feeling that can't be expressed in words. His eyes clearly told him that he was walking in a corridor made of silver-white light metal walls, but he felt as if he was standing on the walls of a very magnificent castle.
If this state had to be described, Ashruphat felt that his body and soul had been separated, that the body was still in this material world, and that the soul had entered another world. That's why he felt such an incredible thing.
The structure of this castle is not elaborate, but it is truly magnificent. A man walked on the city wall, and now the wall is as thick as you can imagine. It's not a city wall, it's a racetrack. The width and length here are enough for three or five horses for equestrian competitions.
And the magnificent castle seemed lifeless, and Ashrufat could see nothing moving but himself.
Ashruphat turned his head sideways, and in the physical world, he saw only silver-white walls, and in the spiritual world, he saw a wilderness. The wilderness was covered with red dirt, as if the land had been washed with blood.
It dawned on him that this was the legendary Castle of Sadism, where the Blood God resided in a fortress where his army and countless messengers were gathered. Every believer under his command is constantly training himself, ready to fight and slaughter in his name. Fighters who can prove their courage and dare to sacrifice their lives, that is, mortal warriors of the blood god, will eventually be taken to the fortress. And all those enemies who dare to invade the territory of the Blood God will be dealt with mercilessly. But if this is a castle, then where are the soldiers and messengers of the Sadomasochism?
