Chapter 1: Deep Blue
Even in summer, the nights in the DΓΌrr Valley are always so cold.
There were several holes in the wall of the hut where Herag lived, and the cold wind was desperately trying to penetrate through the holes, so cold that he could not sleep at all.
He got up in the dark, pulled some thatch from the bed, plugged the holes, and the wind finally lightened.
Herag cleaned up and continued to lie on the bed, but he couldn't sleep a little.
Because I was hungry, there was a gurgling sound in my stomach.
"How did I end up in a place like this?" He touched his stomach and sighed helplessly.
At this time, he misses the days when there was water, electricity and internet.
If you're hungry, you just need to turn on your phone and order a takeout, and the food will be delivered to your door in a few moments.
Here, on the other hand, there is only one meal a day, and at noon a piece of brown bread and a bowl of potato soup are distributed.
Brown bread is hard and laborious to gnaw like a stone.
Only the white bread is soft and glutinous, but it can only be enjoyed by the noble nobles.
The people of the castle could only eat black bread.
Old Henry, who was in charge of raising the flowers, told Herag that it would be better to soak brown bread in potato soup.
After Herag learned this trick, the brown bread was finally less difficult to chew.
But the thirteen-year-old's body is in a stage of rapid development, and a day of black bread and a bowl of potato soup is obviously not enough.
Neither full nor adequate nutrition.
But such conditions have surpassed many people, and he lives in the castle of the noble Baron Buck and is responsible for raising horses.
One meal a day keeps him from starving, and outside the castle there are many people who are on the line of life and death and homeless.
The castle is safe enough and has a stable source of food, as long as it does not anger the noble noble lady and young master, there will be no fear of life.
However, Herag is an earthling who has received modern higher education, how can he be willing to be a horseman for a lifetime.
"The self-repair of the Deep Blue chip is complete."
When Herag heard the familiar voice, he was stunned, and he wondered if he was hallucinating.
Deep blue is the name of his gene chip, which everyone had in the previous life, responsible for the analysis, processing and storage of data, and has a strong auxiliary role in people's daily life and work.
"An environmental anomaly has been detected, and localization compatibility is in progress."
"Localization compatibility is complete, and Deep Blue is operating normally."
Two chip-tone tones sounded in his head, and Herag confirmed that he was not hallucinating.
"Deep blue, check the current state of your body."
"Herag Merlin: Strength 0.4, Agility 0.5, Constitution 0.4, Spirit 1.2."
Herag looked at his body data and was speechless for a moment.
This is properly stunted.
Now that I have a gene chip, I already have a rough plan for the follow-up.
The next morning, Herag woke up early.
Before dawn, he came to the stables with a lantern and put the horse feed in the manger one by one.
The horses in the stable had woken up, and they were looking at Herag expectantly, their noses spewing hot air.
Horse feed is made from a mixture of hay and some legumes, and eats better than these servants of theirs.
Herag honestly did not steal horse feed, and he remembered that his previous one had been executed for regularly stealing it.
After taking care of his own affairs, he went to the back garden, where old Henry should have been watering the flowers.
There are many kinds of flowers planted in the back garden, most of which are varieties that were not available in previous lives.
"Deep Blue, from now on record all the information of animals and plants that have not been seen."
"Roger, the task has been filed, and the execution has begun."
Herag understands the importance of data, which will always be useful.
Old Henry is the old man in the castle and has raised flowers here all his life.
As usual, he would carry a bucket and start watering the flowers, carefully cleaning up the fallen leaves and other debris in the flower beds.
"What are you doing so early, boy? What's the matter? Old Henry noticed Herag and glanced at him.
"Come and talk to your old man." Hellag said with a hippie smile.
Old Henry said disdainfully: "If there is anything, you can just say it, I will not be long before I see the gods, and I can't help you a few times." β
Old Henry's presence in the castle was very low, and he had no children or daughters, except for Khrag who often came to talk to him.
In his heart, Herag was already a grandson.
He knew Herag too well, and he definitely had something to ask him for help in this early morning.
Herag laughed, "Old Henry, your bow is still there." I borrowed it to go hunting, and when I got the prey, I asked you to eat meat. β
"Bow?"
Old Henry looked at Herag's thin body with some disdain, and questioned, "Can you kid draw a bow?" And if you have learned archery, and hunting, don't waste my arrows. β
"You can borrow it from me, I promise, when you go to see the gods, I will find you a good place in the back mountain, and then set up a monument for you." Herag swore by it.
If the servants in the castle died, they all found a random place to bury them, and there was no tombstone.
Old Henry hesitated for a moment, a little moved, and finally said helplessly: "The bow is hanging on the wall in the room, go get it yourself, don't break it for me." β
"Thank you, old Henry!" Herag ran into the house without looking back, lest old Henry would regret it.
Herag removed the longbow from the wall, and the bow was spotless, and it was evident that old Henry was well maintained.
He had heard that old Henry was very good at archery, but now that he was old, he had never seen him draw the bow again.
Herag's thin body carried the bow on his back, and there was always a sense of disobedience.
There were only seven arrows in the quiver, which was enough for Herag.
"Herag, where are you going?" The guard at the gate of the castle asked.
"Hunting!" Herag said imposingly.
The guard didn't hold back a laugh: "Hahaha, you're not a bow yet, don't shoot yourself." β
Another guard laughed, "Help me shoot a red-spotted finch, that thing is roasting deliciously." If you do, I'll give you ten copper coins for a red-spotted finch. β
"That's what you said, get the copper coins ready." Herag said seriously.
"Hahaha!" The two guards looked at him with a serious look on his face, which was very interesting.
Gerag carried the old Henry's bow out of the castle, and at the entrance of the castle was a long slope with a green river that meandered underneath. Over the river was a suspension bridge, which had now been lowered and a carriage was passing by.
He looked from afar, recognized it as Baron Baron's carriage, and didn't know where he was going.
Opposite the castle was the dense forest, and that was the goal of Herag's trip.
It is said that there are fierce beasts in the depths of the forest, and even powerful knights have a hard time dealing with them.
Herag only dared to swim at the edge of the forest, not to go deeper, he was still too weak.
"Deep blue, turn on detection, always pay attention to the surrounding movements, and prevent potential dangers."
"Environmental detection has been initiated."
After a green light streaked across Herag's vision, the forest in his eyes suddenly changed greatly.
All the plants glowed green, and the animals had a faint red glow, making it easier for him to distinguish between lurking animals.
There is also a small circular map in the upper right corner of the field of view, with large and small red and green dots scattered on the map.
"Start hunting!"
