The plot analysis of the game "Singularity", a masterpiece!
Since the game has no subtitles, and the game itself is not long, everyone generally knows that the protagonist jumps around in time and space when playing, but weishenme jumps, jumps like this, is it a free jump or a trick jump? Many comrades may not be very clear. After I played the game, I added my own understanding of the plot based on some clues and the plot of the game, and came up with some analysis of the plot, which is now written for everyone to discuss.
For the sake of analysis, let's first look at the general flow of this story. It all started when Soviet scientists discovered the Singularity Tower on a small island and discovered that he had the ability to change the state of time of things. Then the protagonist is sent to the past by this singularity tower, and does something that he thinks is a good person and a good deed, but in fact it is a snake to add to it, causing time to be changed, and time goes into a wrong time and space, and when the protagonist returns to the present again, he finds that things are too wrong - his favorite Burger King no longer exists due to the expansion of the Soviet Union! As for Zuihou, did he succeed or not? Let's take a moment.
First of all, let's take a look at the original timeline in which the protagonist is located, the shijie where the protagonist is located can be understood as the current reality shijie, the end of the Cold War, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, these are only superficial peace, in fact, on this unknown island, something almost happened that could have ended the Cold War before it even began--the Soviet Union successfully developed the E99 weapon, eliminated the United States, and unified the world. However, two things happened that led to the E99 weapon not being developed in the end, and the Soviet Union did not have a chance to turn over, and finally collapsed. By playing the game, we can know that there are two doctors who are mainly responsible for research on this small island, one is Brother Glasses and the other is Uncle Beard, these two people can be called geniuses, and the two of them work together to break through the 10,000-point IQ mark and easily develop the Time Modification Device (TMD). However, time seems to be very dissatisfied with those who dare to change it without permission, so an accidental fire occurs, and Uncle Beard dies (this is the first thing). Then, then the Soviet Union decided that the research on the island was too dangerous, so it ordered the closure of the laboratory, and many scientists on the island were killed because they knew too much, and Brother Glasses was one of them...... Since then, no one knows the secret of TMD, and it lies quietly in the depths of the laboratory, waiting for the arrival of its true master (Sleeping Beauty?). Briefly summarize the main points: First, in the original timeline, Brother Glasses and Uncle Beard are actually dead, and Uncle Beard died in front of Uncle Eyes. 2. Either of these two people can study TMD alone, but it will take a long time. Because they cooperated, they quickly researched TMD, which means that TMD actually existed, but it was not discovered. Third, it is precisely because of the unnatural death of these two people that the existence of TMD is buried, and no one knows. However, there will always be people on Shijie who are able to jump out of the Three Realms and not in the Five Elements. The protagonist is obviously such a person, and if the protagonist hadn't come to this island to investigate, things might have been like this. However, there is a providence in the dark, and the arrival of the protagonist is doomed (or the game will not have to be played...). Ahem). And the protagonist doesn't come early or late, just in time for the outbreak of the Singularity Tower. The eruption of the Singularity Tower causes instability in time and space, and the protagonist is transported to the past, just when Uncle Beard is burned to death. The protagonist ignorantly found that Uncle Hu Zi was about to be buried in the fire, so he carried forward the spirit of Lei Feng and rescued Uncle Hu Zi regardless of his own safety. As a result, one of the two necessary events that led to the protagonist's original timeline is erased! Uncle Hu did not die because of this, he survived, and continued to research the E99 weapon, and finally developed the E99 bomb, which blew a big hole in the east coast of the United States. He thus became a national hero, replacing Stalin as the leader of the Soviet Union. (When the protagonist returns to the present after saving Uncle Beard, there is a close-up, the place where Stalin's head was put has become a tall and mighty full-body portrait of Uncle Beard, which is a hint) However, the protagonist is the protagonist after all, he will never be willing to be lonely, and he will not do anything endlessly, after finding TMD, he did another earth-shattering thing, he went back to the past again, and saved Brother Glasses...... At this point, the two decisive events are erased by the protagonist's own hands, which actually indicates that the protagonist will never return to his own timeline. (Ironically, at the end of Zuihou, the protagonist has to decide whether to let Brother Glasses live, or let Uncle Beard live, or simply not live at all, which also means that the protagonist will atone for the sins he has created.) Dust to dust, dust to dust, Amen. Here, please note that Brother Glasses died behind Uncle Beard, that is to say, when the protagonist saves Brother Glasses, the entire timeline changes again from here on, but the timeline before this has not changed, so Uncle Beard still will not die. When the protagonist saves Brother Glasses back to reality, Brother Glasses is also "resurrected", he waits for the protagonist for 50 years, during which time he does countless research, and he tells the protagonist to find a way to return history to its original place. Here is the girl, who seems to be the daughter of Brother Glasses, or the daughter of a man who used to work on the island. She learns the truth from the doctor, so she also wants to help the protagonist return history to its original place. So she is one of four people who know that history has changed. This also foreshadows the animation where she acts alone in the ending of the Zuihou game. Let's leave her alone for the time being, zuihou will analyze it again. After that, the protagonist, with the help of the doctor and the girl, tries to return history step by step. In the meantime, there are many things that seem to be unexplainable, such as some strange words and pictures that often appear on the wall, (what don'ttrustme, don'tturstthegirl, etc.) who wrote them? and then there are footprints on the ground when you press f, whose footprints are these, and how can you use time to go back to see them? What do the big words that Brother Glasses and Uncle Beard say at the end of Zuihou mean? These clues actually hint at a dark line in the game. That is, the protagonist has actually tried to restore history many times! (This is the infinite reincarnation theory proposed by some people) The picture I saw on the way is a very good breakthrough. The diagram uses a line to represent the timeline, then a section from one point backwards (the original normal history) to death, and then several new timelines are drawn, but they all end up pointing to a result "bad". This implies that the protagonist has actually tried to restore history many times, but the result is the same, history still cannot be changed. The words and paintings written on the wall are all left by the "self" who tried to restore history in the past, and are used to remind the "self" who tries to restore history next time, summarize lessons and lessons, and strive for the success of change. As for the footprints on the ground, they are all left by the previous "self", so if you go back in time, you can see these footprints, and everything that has been done in the game has actually been carried out by "yourself" before, all the way to the end of zuihou. The time we played, it was just one of many attempts, and it was also Zuihou. It is a new choice for the ending, which allows the protagonist to jump out of the infinite reincarnation. At the end of Zuihou, when the "protagonist" detonates the bomb in the past and returns to the present, it is discovered that the singularity still exists. Then Uncle Beard's words reveal everything: "Welcome back from your memory trip (implying that the protagonist has been trying to repeat the past), every time you blow up the singularity, you will come back to find that the singularity will be reconstructed again (which explains the timeline that points to "bad"...... "Brother glasses" also corroborates all this:" Don't listen to him, we must have missed something, let's start over, and the next time will definitely change history (implying that the protagonist has actually tried many times, he and Brother Glasses have tried various methods, but the result is still the same, "bad"...... )。 So, all these clues can be explained.
Then there is the ending, Brother Glasses has an epiphany from Uncle Beard's sentence "History is rewritten by the victors", and discovers that everything is caused by the protagonist being sent back to 1955 by the singularity explosion and then saving Uncle Beard. As long as the protagonist goes back to the fire in 1955 and prevents his former "self" from saving Uncle Beard, then history will return to normal. In layman's terms, it is to erase the point that the protagonist went back to the past and saved Uncle Hu Zi from the historical line, since it never happened, then history has not been changed, the timeline will not be disrupted, it will go down according to its original path, and everything will return to normal - the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union. The protagonist Zuihou decides to sacrifice the ego, complete the big self, and go back in time to kill himself (this should be the orthodox ending, kill Uncle Beard and leave Brother Glasses). But is history really going back to its original state?
Let's look at the ending animation, the protagonist is back on the helicopter, please note that there will be a helicopter flying over the right side of the protagonist soon, please take a closer look at the tail of this helicopter, and then compare the tail of the helicopter that flies in the beginning animation of the game, you will be surprised to find that the logo of the plane in the opening animation is the United States Air Force (pentagram), and the symbol of the plane in the ending (new history) is a sickle and axe...... In other words, history has actually changed, and when the protagonist returns to the island again, he already represents the Soviet Union and not the United States...... It can be imagined that in the new timeline, the Soviet Union has unified Shijie, and the new leader of the Soviet Union is Brother Glasses (the statue in the ending). The protagonist has obviously erased the point that affected history, and theoretically history from that point onwards should return to normal, and the protagonist should still be an American, and the Soviet Union has collapsed. Is the theory wrong? Hehe, in fact, the theory is not wrong. Here's the highlight, so please pay attention to it. Everyone is sure to find out that no matter which ending you choose, Zuihou will have that girl escape from the water and run to a room to write a note. There was a brother who posted that she was a traitor. I'm going to give her the ordinary, this girl is not a traitor, she is the genius of the whole game! This animation by Zuihou is the essence of the whole game (or better yet, a story). Please note that when the girl came out of the water, the time indicated in the lower left corner was November 6, 1955, and the date when the protagonist saved Uncle Beard was October 26, 1955. One might ask, how did the girl get into the water in 1955? Please recall the plot, the protagonist uses the TMD amplifier to restore the Pearl ship back to the state of 1955, and then he takes the E99 bomb from the ship, but from the call, we can know that the girl successfully escaped from the ship in order to cover the protagonist, and the girl herself ran to the ship to attract the fire of the Soviet army, and the result was that the protagonist ran out of the ship in time, and the ship was brought back to before 1955 (Brother Glasses said that the ship was too huge for the utility of TMD to last long, so the ship soon began to disintegrate again, which can be understood as the ship was pulled back to 1955)。 After the protagonist runs out of the ship, the singularity explodes again, and we can understand that this explosion takes the girl back to 1955, or the ship itself is brought back to 1955, and the girl does not escape from the ship, so she is also taken back to 1955. Do you think that this experience seems to be the same as the experience of the protagonist who was brought back to the fire scene by the singularity explosion for the first time to save Uncle Beard? That's right! Although the protagonist kills himself in the fire in Zuihou and erases the point he created, the girl is also brought back to 1955 by the singularity, and after the point time created by the protagonist. The girl's crossing creates her own points. In other words, in 1955, there were actually two points that changed history! One is that the protagonist saved Uncle Hu on October 26, 1995. The other was that the girl wrote that damn red note on November 6, 1995. The suicide of the protagonist only erased one point, but no one erased the point created by the girl, so history still changed! The girl's point caused Brother Glasses not to die, and eventually used TMD to unify the Soviet Union. (Brother Glasses was an avid supporter of the Soviet Union, as can be seen from his weapons introduction films, he shouts slogans at the end of each movie) Therefore, the girl is the dark line of the dark line, and if you really want history to return, the protagonist has to kill the girl in addition to himself...... When I figured this paragraph, I couldn't help but be impressed by the creators of this game's story, should the comrades who shouted that this game is not haode read my analysis and reconsidered it?
