Section 21 The Fall
"Quick, quick, quick, aim for the greenskinned leader!" Aibolandon shouted into the greenskinned phalanx in the distance.
The environment is the best teacher, and now Aibo Landon has gradually understood how to best curb the Greenskin's offensive. Just kill the leader of the command. No matter how ferocious the Greenskin's attack is, as soon as the leader is dead, they will immediately lose the courage to attack and start retreating.
His soldiers needed a breath too much.
The Greenskins' siege has been going on for more than a week. Seven days of fierce offensive, so far there has been no attenuation. Tekken Keep now resembles a scarred fighter in the ring, still standing there and fighting, but his body is already shaky.
In fact, even Aibo Landon himself did not expect that he would be able to hold on until now.
I don't know who said that the Greenskin's attacks have always been chaotic, but the Greenskin's battle that he feels right now is extremely orderly. The ladder of the ladder, the city of the city, the filling of the earth. On the surface, it looks chaotic, but in fact, it is doing its own thing, and many people go hand in hand.
On the first day of the battle, the Greenskins filled in the trenches, and on the second day, the Greenskins repeatedly attacked the walls. On the third day of fighting, Greenskin destroyed a fort. From the fourth day onwards, the battle never ceased, and the Greenskins attacked day and night, one after another, and the fanaticism and bloodlust were enough to terrify even the battle-hardened veterans.
Stick to it for three days, this is the content of the original plan. From the fourth day onwards, the Greenskins' offensive will be slowed down, as a large portion of the Greenskins' army will be defending (or attacking) the camp of human reinforcements. Unfortunately, however, Elolandon did not feel that the Greenskins' offensive had slowed down, but instead became more and more ferocious. Today, Greenskin has attacked the walls three times, and then three times has been counterattacked by the defenders.
That particular long-range cannon simply became the lifesaver of Tekken, because that cannon not only had a long range, but also far from being comparable to ordinary cannons. Yesterday, it was the cannon that killed the Greenskins to make Greenskins retreat.
The cannon fired. This time, however, it only hit a clearing in front of Greenskin. The shell bounced on the ground and hit a large rock, knocking it into a corner.
"Kouhu, almost hit the street!" Although the orc said recklessly, he was not stupid. He turned around and chose a terrain where it was easier to avoid artillery fire. The offensive at the head of the city did not weaken in the slightest.
"Reserves!" Aibolandon staggered after a blow from something unknown on his helmet, but he held on and shouted to the guards beside him. "Hurry up and let the reserves come up, two hundred men!"
"Your Highness, there are no reserves!" I don't know who replied. "Everybody's in the fight. ”
"And what about the mobile units?"
"We are. ”
Edlandon stood firm, the dizziness in his head still gone, and a shorter goblin jumped over several corpses, his spear stabbed straight into Eblandon's chest. Ebollandon dodged to the side, spear sliding across his armplate. He stabbed the goblin in the abdomen with his sword, and then made a large hole that extended to his ribs. The goblin howled in pain.
"Bastard!" the young prince cursed, as he plunged his sword into the green creature's body again.
The goblin let go of his grip on the spear, clutched his stomach and fell to the ground wailing. One of the guards arrived from the spur and slashed his neck with an axe, ending his futile struggle.
If he had five hundred ordinary soldiers, then at least he would have survived today, Eblandon thought, how nice it would be if it were five hundred well-armed knights. It's a pity that his stupidity and arrogance buried these soldiers. He didn't want to think about why the Greenskins' offensive had not weakened but had become more and more violent, and he had only one thought in his mind, he had to hold on.
By this time, his guards had already begun to drive down the greenskins that had killed the walls. At least they gave him the best guards. The thirty guards were all the best of the best. In the short battle just now, the guards had killed the same number of greenskins as they were, and there were no casualties of their own.
"Fight for Shem!" Ellandon shouted and rushed forward, killing another orc with the help of two guards who were following him. The greenskins at the head of the city have been wiped out. The musketeers, who had just been driven away by the greenskins, also returned to their positions and began to shoot. Greenskin's offensive was contained. At least temporarily, it was contained. Until the Greenskins Downwave Charge begins, it's safe for now.
Now his only prayer was that the other sections of the wall would not be in worse condition than here.
Fortunately, it seems that the gods heard his prayer. At least as far as he could see, the situation could hold on. The rest of the cannons at the head of the city had fallen silent, except for the particular cannon that still roared—the greenskins had retreated.
Is it a victory?Or is Greenskin finally starting to disperse his forces?Eblandon looked at the city in disbelief. It was already dusk, the sun was setting, and the light was dim, so he couldn't see what was going on in the greenskin's camp.
Ebollandon believes that at least 5,000 Greenskins have been wiped out, possibly tens of thousands. But he also knew that the Greenskins were far from being dealt a real blow. Greenskin's siege weapons are still in abundance, and the number of Greenskins is still endless. The retreat of the greenskins seemed to indicate only one thing, that what Aibolandon had been expecting had finally happened.
Those who are still alive have begun to clean up the city. Aibo Landon sat down against the wall, gasping for breath. No, you can't be careless. No one knows if the green skin of the road has really retreated, or if he is just retreating and regrouping. But there seemed to be no drums in the darkness.
"Your Highness. "A man with a face blackened by gunpowder came to Elolandon. "You ......"
"I'm right here!" replied Elolandon. "Don't let up, everybody, be on your guard tonight!" until tomorrow I confirm with the corner of my eye. He thought to himself.
The city calmed down. Ebollandon leaned against the city, restlessly awaiting the next sunrise. He knew that he should set an example in front of the whole army and persevere. But he was too tired and tired, and his blood stains couldn't stop the Sandman's invasion. Before he knew it, he was already asleep.
"Greenskin!" a terrible scream pulled Elolandon back from his sleep. He realized that he had made an unforgivable mistake. After a day of fierce fighting, no one could resist the call of the Sandman. He should have arranged for the sentries and let the others rest, but he didn't. Everybody is on duty, and everybody being a sentry means that there are no sentinels.
The greenskins didn't beat the drums, they didn't roar, and this time they brought a real sneak attack. A javelin flew from the front and hit a musketeer without armor. The unfortunate man held the handle of the javelin and slowly fell in a slow-motion motion, falling to the ground on his back.
"Be careful!" someone shouted, "it's a spider......
Before he could finish speaking, several giant spiders with long barbed legs rushed to the city with goblin riders. It fell from the sky and landed among the musketeers and began to attack. The drums, which had been silent, began to sound at this time. The brutal roar of "Waaaaaagh" was earth-shattering.
Ebollandon stood up and drew his sword. The sound of a fierce battle came from all sides of him, and everywhere there were goblin spider riders popping up. At this moment, a giant spider suddenly rushed directly above him, using the force of the impact to slam him down hard. The spider's bony mouthparts were making a clattering sound, and Ebollandon was almost bitten. Fortunately, one of his guards arrived in time for the crisis and cut off the spider's limb with a fierce blow. Black liquid spurted out of the broken spot, and the enraged spider ignored the rider's command and abandoned Eblandon to attack the guard.
Another spider rushed over. In this way, the two spiders attacked back and forth, and under the command of the goblin rider, they tried to dismember the guard with their scythe-like claws. While the mount is attacking, the rider also uses the javelin in his hand to stab the target.
Ebolendon lunged forward to relieve his men, slashing his sword deep into the spider's massive yellow and black body. The spider retreated sharply in pain and panic, and the rider sitting on it did not sit still, and was thrown out of the ground by this series of sudden movements.
Another warrior rushed forward, jumped to the spider rider's position, and impaled the spider's head with a spear from top to bottom. The blow finally caused the giant creature to lose its vitality and fall to the ground.
"Cannon, cannon, hurry up!" shouted Ebollandon. The battle cry below was already so loud that even the dead should be woken up. But the artillery, located on the heights, showed no signs of firing. Ebollandon realizes that the Spider Troopers have managed to sneak up on all the gun emplacements before they get here, killing the gunners sleeping on the gun emplacements.
The ladder had been leaned against the top of the city again, and the dull crash was very clear. But there was no one above the city who could attack the greenskins with muskets and cannons before they went up to the city. All of them are fighting the spider cavalry, and the battle is in jeopardy.
The first Greenskin rushed up, the largest Greenskin Ever seen by Ebollandon, dressed in the rough, sturdy armor of Greenskin, with a greatsword in one hand, and a roar of "Waaaagh". To Elolandon's astonishment, the huge orc's movements were terrifyingly dexterous, and in just a moment, the orc had already jumped in front of him.
Ebollandon swung his sword to resist, but the moment the weapons staggered, he realized that the orc was a false move, and unloaded his full force into the air with a skillful force. Then, a fierce blow fell on his head.
Ai Bolandon felt that his vision began to become blurred, and his head began to become heavier and heavier, and worst of all, the entire world world was turned upside down, and the world seemed to be getting farther and farther away from him, becoming more and more unreal.
He watched as the big orcs rushed through the crowd. Watch as a guard is crushed by a large spider while the spider rider keeps stabbing his prey in the body with a javelin. He saw the other guard struggling to cover the wound on his neck with his hands, and the bright white armor had been stained crimson with blood. He watched as a dozen goblins armed with spears and daggers screamed and swarmed up, leaving behind their shot companions and lunging at a musketeer, slashing and slashing until their target finally fell. He saw hordes of orcs roaring like madness, rushing up to the city, where there was no one to resist.
Ebollandon turned his head slowly, and then all he could see was the Sky of Tekken Castle. The young warrior felt that the sky was slowly darkening, even though the morning sun was finally rising over the distant mountains.
