Chapter Seventy-Six: The Battle of the Mountain Road
"Could it be that the volcano has erupted here?" said Hernar.
"You're stupid, this road is still a long way from the volcano, and even if the volcano erupts, it won't make the ground shake!" Joshua shouted.
"Looks like we're really in trouble!" Geraint pointed ahead. Monsters with ugly appearances and huge bodies are rushing towards them. The monster at the head is covered in green all over its body, with two tentacles on its head and sparks in its mouth. It was followed by three monsters: a fire elemental with a human form but surrounded by flames, an earth elemental rock golem with a body composed of gray rocks, and a thunderbird with a blue body glowing with a faint electric light.
"This thing should be the Fire Demon. I had dealt with them a few years ago when I visited the old lords of Aika. Geraint recognized the monster in front of him.
"They all look so good, let's run for our lives!" shouted Joshua.
"There's no turning back on this trail. Geraint shook his head, "Let's find a way to get through here as soon as possible!"
"What the hell is this place, there are so many monsters in Weishenme!" Joshua could only bite the bullet and start fighting.
"These are all monsters that have been mutated by volcanic magic, and I fought them years ago. These monsters have no will of their own, and act on instinct, often attacking passers-by and local villagers. Geraint drew his sword and charged at the Burning Demon.
"Whoa!" The Fire Demon ran towards Geraint, spewing flamed magma from its mouth.
"Damn, Joshua, Heinal, be careful! If you get caught in the flames of this guy's mouth, you're going to die. Geraint shouted, "Hold off their attacks with your fighting spirit and barriers." ”
Geraint unleashed the fighting energy in his body and gathered it into the sword body, slashing at the Flame Demon.
"Whoa!" spurted hot flames from the mouth of the Burning Fire Demon, and pieces of magma wrapped in flames flew towards Geraint. Geraint swung his sword and used his fighting energy to block out all the flames.
Just as Geraint parried the fire demon's attack, a bolt of lightning suddenly exploded beside him. In a half-heartbeat moment, the scorching mountain path dominated by fiery red tones was illuminated by purple and white electric light. Geraint caught a glimpse of the thunderbird with a shimmering blue glow all over its body swooping down, and the rock golem next to it also emitted a gray-brown light due to the flash of electricity, and the fire elemental on the side was a roaring figure and a pair of clenched fists.
Joshua also saw it. "Oh no, they're all here!"
"Be careful, especially the guy flying in the sky. Brienne shouted in a nervous voice, but his mouth was dry as dust due to the heat of the trail. Geraint was well aware of the predicament they were going to face at this time. Children, the first thing he cares about in his heart is them.
These volcanic monsters are not self-aware. It's just instinctively attacking some active creatures. Hearing Geraint's shout, the monsters turned to him in unison. Some let out frightening screams, while others seemed to be able to pronounce incantations, but Geraint couldn't understand what they were shouting. The Fire Demon, who had been at the forefront, continued to spew flames in front of him. Geraint used his fighting energy to open the barrier of holy light. "The flames of this Burning Fire Demon in front are enough to resist with our fighting spirit, but the Thunderbird flying in the sky is more troublesome. I couldn't concentrate on the defense from above."
"Hey, Hey, did your mother teach you an enchantment you can use to defend yourself?" Jaylant shouted to Henar behind her. "You'll have to find a way to stop the Thunderbird's condescending attack. ”
"I'll see if I can knock it down with magic. As she spoke, she looked up and unleashed her magic at the sky with her palms. "The Storm Barrier can cover a large area and sweep away all the enemies inside. "But the Thunderbird was nimble and easily dodged Henal's attacks. It hovered over the trio's heads, chirping, as if mocking Hannal's inability to hit herself.
"Damn, if only there were bows and arrows here. Joshua thought to himself. "This strange bird attacks with thunder and lightning, then it must be afraid of fire. I've got a way!"
Joshua thought of a way to keep provoking the other person. Soon, he picked up several pieces of volcanic rock from the ground that had broken and threw them at the Thunderbird in the air. Seeing this, the Thunderbird did not dodge, but just spewed out thunderbolts from its mouth to shatter the stones. The Thunderbird was enraged by Joshua, and the volcanic monsters, lacking basic intelligence, rushed towards him after being provoked by Joshua, wrapped in purple lightning and lightning. Joshua hurriedly ran forward, and Geraint was in a stalemate with the other three monsters. Fortunately, these monsters were blocked by Geraint's fighting spirit, and they couldn't get close to them, so they could only use magic to attack on the side.
"Uncle Geraint, put a gap on the left side of your barrier. Joshua quickly ran to Geraint's side, and the Thunderbird swooped down at breakneck speed. Geraint looked at the place to his left, which happened to be where the fire elemental was staying. He quickly comprehended that he would put away his fighting energy, revealing a gap on the left side of his holy light barrier. Joshua rushed to the breach, and the fire elemental rushed in from the direction of the breach. Joshua saw that the Thunderbird behind him was about to crash into him, so he quickly fell to the ground with his head in his hands. Due to the incredible speed of the Thunderbird's swoop, Joshua suddenly fell to his stomach, catching the Thunderbird off guard. Directly collided with the fire elemental that had just rushed in from the breach.
"Bang!" After a loud bang, the fire elemental staggered back a few steps. The ptarmigan, on the other hand, was surrounded by flames and let out a wail of pain. The scorching flames burned in his body, and the ptarmigan screamed as he slashed along the mountain path.
"Everyone's lying down!" Gerant, in order to avoid being hit by the Thunderbird, beckoned everyone to lie down together. But these volcanic monsters had no such consciousness, and just stared blankly at the thunderbirds wrapped in flames flying around them. "Bang!" There was another violent sound, and the thunderbird turned into ashes under the scorching flames, and the thunder element in its body instantly burst into flames. The light of thunder and lightning shone on the mountain path, and the rock golem was instantly shattered by the impact of the thunderbird's explosion, turning into piles of rubble. The fire elemental and the fire demon were not destroyed in the explosion, but they also wailed in pain because of the aftermath of the thunder and lightning.
"Well done, Joshua!" Seeing the monsters entangled in lightning, Geraint quickly got up and seized the opportunity to launch a deadly attack on them. He gathered his fighting energy into the blade of his sword and stabbed at the nearest fiery demon. The blade stabbed into the body of the Burning Demon, and the monster let out a cry of pain. At this time, several golden holy lights burst out from the body of the Burning Fire Demon, penetrating its entire body. After the light, the Fire Demon slowly melted as if it had lost its magical powers, turning into a pile of red mud scattered on the ground.
"Uncle Geraint, watch out for the back!" Joshua lay on the ground, his eyes catching a glimpse of the fire elemental that had been struggling in pain to return to his demonic nature, and clenched his fist wrapped in flames and struck Geraint from behind.
Geraint didn't turn around when she heard Joshua's voice, and she didn't have any idea of dodging. I saw that he held the saber behind his hands and stabbed the sword out from under the armpit of his left hand, and the fire element that had just swung his fist was pierced by the sword body that gathered powerful fighting energy before he could punch. After succeeding, Geraint quickly drew his sword and jumped forward a few steps, making sure that he was out of the monster's attack range.
"Whoa!" Waiting for the Fire Elemental was the same fate as the Fire Demon, and several golden rays of holy light also burst out from its body. With a loud bang, the fire elemental's body was blown apart, and some small stones wrapped in flames splashed in all directions.
"Finally killed all these monsters!" Joshua sighed as he stood up.
