Section 48 Disputes
Ashrufat stood in the middle of the bustling hall.
It was built by the Dark Elves (and their slaves) and was as beautiful, exquisite, ornate and artistic as the Warrior Elves' architecture from a human point of view. If anything, it's a stylistic difference. Of course, in the eyes of the Divine Warrior Elves, this place is full of symbols and marks of blasphemy, betrayal, and evil, which is truly abominable.
However, Ashrufar persuaded his men not to destroy the place for the time being, as it would be superfluous. In order to achieve the goal of containing, harassing, and destabilizing the dark elves, Ashrufat had already planned to completely raze the city to the ground from the beginning.
"Your Royal Highness, Captain Valinor has asked me to tell you that if you can't give him more men, he will only be able to take fifty ships. He advised you to burn all the other boats that could not be taken away. A herald reported to Ashrufat.
"I told him to pick a good ship first. We'll talk about the burning when we leave. It doesn't take time anyway. β
"Your Royal Highness, the shadow warriors in charge of the scout mission have ended their search on the outskirts, and they have found nothing. They ask you if you want to increase the search for remnants. β
"No need, call them back to rest. β
"Your Royal Highness, there is an urgent report, the ships we have sunk are still blocked in the waterway in and out of the port, and our fleet cannot enter the port. β
"Didn't I tell Garth to figure out how to deal with this job? What is he doing? Go to him right now and tell him that this matter must be resolved first!"
"Your Royal Highness, the news of your victory has reached the Phoenix King. He gave you a lot of encouragement, and he wanted you to strike further at Duruzzi's rear. And he brings you the latest news......"
"I'll put that aside for now, I'll see for myself later." β
Ashrufat looked at the documents and reports in his hand. The elves were so efficient that they even made him feel uncomfortable and scrambling. In fact, the military structure of the Warrior Elves is slightly different from that of humans. In human armies, as long as the chief general does not particularly want to concentrate power, the lieutenant general usually has considerable autonomy and is able to handle many things on his own and reduce the workload of the chief general. But in the army of the Divine Warrior Elves, almost everything must be decided by the commander. All officers are accountable to him alone.
The capture of the city was fairly straightforward. In fact, it was not so much a capture as it was a concession from the enemy. Eshuruphat put his only talon ballista (he had to dismantle one to carry as a spare part in order to cross the river) on the edge of the harbor and sank a ship trying to escape. This eventually led them to lose their morale and flee from the land, leaving the city intact in the hands of Ashrufat. So now Ashruphat has a lot of things to deal with.
Ashruphat flipped through the reports of his men, but that was only scratching the surface, his real attention was always focused on something else on the table, a chart drawn by the dark elves. As for those reports and figures, Carrie would write them down for him.
Maybe I should just burn the city on fire. He thought to himself, admiring the fire from the side. If there's anything left, let the Great/Mage solve it with magic, and the whole process is as simple, crude, and efficient as the books for kids?
But he knew it was just delusional. His army was not strong, and supplies were not enough. He had to squeeze everything out of the city that would help him. The first victory may have been brilliant, but it was based on surprise. Then it wasn't so lucky......
He finally finished his business, and then Allasset walked in. The recorder, advisor, and clerk had previously wandered around the fallen Dark Elven City and had been summoned back by Aerufat. This is because the way elves record history is very different from humans. When they record history, as far as they can, they will record everything they see, hear, and feel in as much detail as possibleβnot so much a record as a diary. Relatively speaking, human records are much briefer, rarely touching on the details of the battlefield, nor describing the scenery seen on the battlefield, the speeches of the commanders, or even the specific circumstances of the battle. However, this was not the main concern of Ashrufat, and he asked Aracet to come over for other things.
With his authority as prince and commander, Ashruphat drove the entire room out of the room in the blink of an eye, leaving only Aracet.
"Allaset...... I found something strange. Ashrufat opened the chart at hand.
"Your Highness, this is just a chart from the hand of our evil cousin. Aracet glanced at it. "They are as good at sailing as we are. β
"Look here......" Ashrufat gestured to a newly drawn mark on the chart.
"It's ...... Where did we go before?" Alasset hesitated, but finally spoke. It stands to reason that their voyage records could not have fallen into the hands of the Dark Elves...... It was a route that was personally guided by the prince and never recorded. In any case, it shouldn't be on the Dark Elves' charts right now.
"You don't seem surprised?"
"This ......," Aracet pondered for the right words, but finally decided to confess. "Your Royal Highness, there are some things that you may not know...... But in fact...... "he was at a loss, he wanted to say it but couldn't say it."
"In our army, there are hidden spies of the Duruszy...... And this is not a low military position. β
Great, for some reason, a trace of evil joy flashed through Ashrufat's heart when he said this. Now he has everything in his army, the watchers sent by the Queen, and now the spies of the Dark Elves. Would you like to congratulate you on this?
"Among our Yasur clan, there are indeed some nobles and Duruzi who are secretly in tune with each other. After a long time, Allasset finally mustered up the courage to tell this secret, which was not actually a secret. "After all, we used to be the same race in history. ...... Some of them joined our army, and this is inevitable. Because our soldiers come from all over the place. β
"Can you find them?"
"It's hard. Aracet replied. "No one knows who they are, and there are too many channels to reveal the secrets of this route. β
"En-route ...... This may be a certain captain, and only the captain needs to record charts and routes. β
"But it's also possible that some figure has snuck into the cabin. Nautical charts are not untouchable and tightly guarded treasures. Even if it is, there is occasional carelessness. In addition, it is possible for an army soldier to have knowledge of navigation and secretly carry a chart with him. β
"Can you start with the idea of magical communication?"
"That's even more unlikely. There are too many Azuls who have studied magic...... Or at least tried to learn magic. They may not be as powerful as the Great/Mage and can manipulate the power at will, ignoring the flow of the wind of magic, but it is not too difficult to use communication magic when the wind of magic is right. β
Ashrufat sighed softly, everything was not easy.
"Is the search in the city over?" said Ashrufat, changing the subject. The task of searching for the remaining dark elves in the city was given to Kaye. But it's just a precautionary measure. Now Ashrufat had understood that the Dark Elves were in fact all soldiers in the true sense of the word, both men and women. In contrast, although the Divine Warrior Elves are also considered by humans to be "all soldiers", the ordinary women among them rarely go to the battlefield. The exception is those who are capable of being a female warrior or mage.
"Almost, all but the slave barracks have been searched. Allasset replied. "But I'm sure nothing will come of it, at most just some Truuzzi cubs. Your Royal Highness, I don't think your plan to find some captives to ask for a confession will be very successful. β
Ashrufat thought for a moment. The Knights of the Silver Helmet, who were tasked with chasing down the fleeing enemy, had word of it. The Durucci were stubborn, and almost all of them stubbornly resisted to the rear, so the result of the last was that they did not catch a suitable prisoner. This may just be an outpouring of the ruthless nature of the elves, but it's hard to say whether this outpouring is a dark elf or a martial elf.
Ashrufat was still thinking about the complicated issues in front of him, when a chaotic shout rang out outside. The voice sounded like someone was arguing with the guards outside, but before Ashrufat and Aracet could figure out what was going on, Kaye rushed in from outside.
Ashrufat didn't go out of his way to inquire about the specific situation of this subordinate named Kay, but from the news he inadvertently got from several conversations with Arazat, he already knew that Kaye was not an elven nobleman, just a commoner. And as Ashrufat had predicted, he was originally a white lion warrior from the northern wilderness. This is easy to deduce, as the army of Ashruphat contains a band of white lion warriors (brought back by Kaye), who combine the grace and beauty of elves with the wild strength of lions. They may not be as strong as the Juggernaut in terms of combat skills, but they are extremely brave and tenacious on the battlefield.
"Prince, you ordered all the captives to be killed?!" The expression on Kaye's face at this moment could no longer be described by the word "anger".
"Are there still those greenskins and rat people?!" another voice sounded, and Garth, another of Ashrufat's subordinates walked in from outside. "Our wicked cousins keep those filthy and evil monsters as slaves, but we don't need them. They are the enemies of our people, and it is nothing special to kill them. β
"But what about the human beings, and the people who have been taken captive by our wicked cousins, who can't be explained by 'enemies,' right?"
