The Blank Period, also known as the Dark Period, is a general indication of the Orthodoxy, Jingtai, and Tianshun (1436-1464) in the history of Jingdezhen porcelain. The three dynasties lasted 29 years, during which the throne changed and the politics were chaotic and turbulent. At this time, the official kiln porcelain produced by Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory was also called the "blank period" or "dark period" in the history of Chinese ceramics because it did not sign the year and lacked the utensils with a clear date.

In 1988, stratigraphic accumulations with fragments of blue and white cloud dragon pattern vat as the main inclusions were found on the west wall of the Imperial Kiln site, near Dongsiling Lane. This is the first archaeological confirmation of the remains of porcelain from the imperial kiln of the Orthodox period
