Chapter 1 _ Tho Shabai's Letter
Morning in the Dragon's Den. Ampat wakes up early, usually at dawn, and flies out of the city to find breakfast. Rick woke up late, and if Ampat wasn't there, he sat in the living room reading a book and waited for him to fly back. This is the daily routine of Xi Ke in this home before he leaves for work in the capital.
Rick went to the door to get the letter, and went back to the house to look at it.
He found one letter to him unusual. The sender is Thosabai. This man is a member of the Magic Hand, with whom he has no regular dealings.
He sat down to open the letter and read it. Letter paper is the official paper of the Magic Hand, with a watermark of the Magic Hand logo floating one centimeter above the paper. In this case, it might be more appropriate to call it a glyph. Tick pressed his hand against the watermark and wiped it back onto the paper, and began to read.
The letter begins, "Mr. Rick, I sincerely invite you to participate in the new year's research plan of the First Intelligence Department of the Demon Court Mage. Please refer to the attachment for details. γ
Attached is a thin white booklet. Turning the first page, the first thing that catches his eye is the familiar word: Soni.
The Hand of Magic is to initiate a research project into Soni spells. Although there were related plans in the past, they were mainly aimed at how to deal with Soni language mages. The plan for this research is to clarify and modernize the unique system of Soni spells and add them to the realm of modern magic.
In other words, the Hand of Magic is going to learn Soni spells.
He put the manual aside and read the letter. The letter said, "Please consider it and reply in person. Then he said a date, saying that he would be somewhere during this time, and that he could meet at that time if it was convenient for him.
Rick had mixed feelings.
Because his Soni spells are better than those of his classmates, he can survive in the Dark Academy. He had been hungry for knowledge of the Soni language, and devoted himself to becoming a Soni language mage. Even speaking the Soni language was once his pride.
But at the same time, Soni also represents a dilemma with no choice, a glorious past that he would rather not go through.
He's out of that environment, and Sony's spells are no longer his first choice when casting spells. Aside from combat, he usually uses other spells, and his current daily life does not include combat. He could help the Hand of Magic, but he was a little resistant to doing anything more specifically for Sony.
He needs time to think about it.
He put the letter aside and picked up the magical journal instead.
He flipped to an article saying that this year's festival of Evangelsal was coming again. Xi Ke looked at the time given by Sabai again, and found that the time overlapped on both sides. The Evangelsal Ceremony is held in the Evangelsal temples all over the country, but the Evensal Temple in the royal capital is an official temple, where the Demon Court presides, and the most important thing is that. The location he said was near the royal capital, and he could stop by to find it.
By the way, tell Shuilonu that he was going to see her. She is studying at university in Wangdu.
Rick heard a group of people talking outside the door. Sounds like a lot of enthusiasm. After a while, Kaisi opened the door and walked in. He also had some biscuits and other small gifts from passers-by.
This foreign mage from the country of Omidina in the continent of Pyro, New Stack, has the "Wizard's Eye" that will be persecuted by the True God Cult, and he doesn't know what happened to Lu Dao in his native country, he seems to regard Aitaro as a new paradise, and he will not return to the country by various means. The trick used now is to get a study visa for his teacher, so he has become a disciple of Xike. Xi Ke didn't know how many serious learning ingredients were here.
If you want to say anything, this guy looks silly and prickly at first impression. His expressions and demeanor are lacking in embellishment, but they are purposeful and easy to understand the message he is trying to convey. He was large, but not of Seren's muscular physique, he looked a bit bulky, but he was actually agile. He often dangles around in knee-length shorts and a cutely patterned undershirt. To the Aethero, he seems to be severely lacking in culture, but from what Rick knows about him, he is certainly not low.
Freaks of the battlements. Xi Ke thought to himself that he himself was probably a freak from Inzhou.
Ever since Kai Si arrived, the entrance to the Dragon's Den has become another social place. After all, there are not many foreigners in the country, and the locals often come to see him enthusiastically.
When Ampat returned, Giruma got up and had breakfast together.
"I want to go to the royal capital. Take part in the ceremony of the sacrifice to Evansar. Rick said.
"I'm going too!" Kai Si shouted as soon as he understood what Xi Ke was saying.
"What are you doing with Evangelsall?" said Rick. Kai Si is not a man of the Staff of Light.
"I'm going!" said Katsumi again. He seems to be very serious, as if he just wants to be a tourist and join in the fun.
Rick frowned. Kai Si is really weird. Kai did say before that he wanted to be an Ethara. Rick asked, "Do you want to be the Man of Light?"
"If you can. When Kai Si said this, his eyes were pure and unadulterated. He looked really, really serious.
Xi Ke almost blurted out if he wanted to be Evangel's heir, but fortunately he remembered in time that Kai Si was not familiar with demons, so he should not know what this meant.
"I was going to take you to the nearby festival of Evangelsar. Since you want to go to the royal capital, let's go together. Ampat said.
"Does that mean I don't need to cultivate the Anmang Charm?" said Gilluma was so happy that her tone increased. The Anmang's Spell is an agricultural spell that takes up to three months to cast and is a great way to test a mage's execution. Ampat is teaching Giluma how to get it.
"I've been to the back and seen your spells, you've failed, and there's no point in continuing. Start from scratch when you come back. Ampat said. It's only the third day.
Girouma's shoulders sank. The preparation of the Anmang mantra is very troublesome just before it starts, and it will have to be done again.
Xike raised his eyebrows and looked at Jirouma, even if his spell level was not high, he was not very serious. Anyway, I'll deal with him when I get back.
The four of them decided to go to the royal capital Wan Fangdai.

The day before the ceremony, Syk went to find Thoshabai alone. Because tonight Jiruma has to challenge himself to open the mandala, and the other three will not set off until tomorrow.
Nick got out of the train station and flagged a taxi directly to the location that Tho Sha Bai said. It was the first time he had taken a taxi, and watching the meter jump made him nervous.
"Guest, you'reβ" The driver said exactly where Rick was born, "-people?"
"That's right. Can you see that?" said Rick in surprise. The Cyks belong to the largest ethnic group in the region, with a large group in each province. You shouldn't be able to see it by looking at your looks.
"Listen to the accent. The driver said.
Rick was stunned for a moment. He left home at such a young age, and he had studied Sony's for many years, and he didn't have the opportunity to speak the dialect of his birthplace, and he didn't think he would have the accent of his hometown.
When he got out of the car, his mind was full of the incident, overshadowing the shock that the sighting of the jump watch had brought to him.
In front of me is an old house. Rick didn't feel any spell fluctuations. If you look closely, the grass in the yard grows quite tall. It looks like an unused house. The owners of the house have emigrated abroad. He wondered if he was in the wrong place. He pushed open the thin wooden door and walked inside, and suddenly his eyes flashed, and the four walls that had been empty quickly receded, and countless desks and people wearing black-on-bottom, gold-trimmed mage robes appeared.
Syk felt the cascades of defensive spells wrap him in the center. Now he is protected by these spells, but these spells can also destroy him in turn.
Wearing a dark suit and a high ponytail with a messy tail, he was now three meters away from Xi Ke, waving his hand and walking towards him, "Hey, let's go talk to the side!" Before Xi Ke got out of the car, he knew that Xi Ke had arrived.
Thoshabai led Rick to find an empty table and sit down. The rest of the Magic Hand members worked nearby, and no one paid attention to them. These people should all know that Lu Dao Xike is an innate necromancer, but he acted so indifferently, which was much worse than the knight's attitude towards him, which surprised him.
Thoshabeth came over with three cups and a pot of tea, and asked, "How are you doing?"
"The frequency and intensity of bad luck is low. Rick said. Take the average of his life so far as the standard.
"That's good. Thosa Bai said. He just asked. Thotha asked, "Have I shown you the information?"
"I've seen it. Rick said.
"Do you want to participate?" said Thotha Both, raising an eyebrow.
Xi Ke's eyes strained slightly, and he didn't miss this subtle emotional reaction.
Without waiting for Xi Ke's answer, Toushabai said, "It's been several years since the ban on Soni spells was lifted, and people still don't like this spell very much, so there's no way around it. Back then, the affairs of the Night Order were too big, and the negative impression was deeply rooted in people's hearts. If it weren't for the Night Order, I'm afraid not many people would know that there was still this spell on the list of taboo in the Dao. γ
"Order of the Nightβ" Cyk remembered what he had seen, and he stared at Thoshabeth and asked, "Why can't you drive all of these people out of Sarafay?"
"Religious belief is a human right. Thosa Bai said. He wasn't too happy about it.
"Why, 'All the religions of the world are good people. 'What's that?' said Rick. The Holy Shield and the Staff of Light purged the Night Order at home, and some of their peripheral members, who were picked up by friends in Duozhou, fled abroad, telling foreigners that they were "persecuted by the government of Sasis because of their religious beliefs, and their human rights have been seriously violated." Fortunately, foreign reporters went directly to Saskaine to find out the truth, and when the foreign people learned the truth, they were as angry as the Slovak people, and the government did not allow them to grant political asylum. They were eventually extradited back for trial.
However, the men, along with internationally renowned human rights experts and a half-battalion of lawyers, sued the Order for religious discrimination, demanded compensation from the state for the damage to their destroyed property, and the physical and psychological harm caused by the "wrongful and improper" interrogation. Originally, they wanted to instigate the families of those who had been punished on the spot to file for national compensation, but those family members were much more sensible than they did, so this situation did not occur.
Nick was furious: "They actually say that they have never hurt anyone, and they actually say that they are a simple and happy spiritual growth group?"
Rick saw on TV that a woman who was still with the "husband" of the Night Order and was helping the Night Order in her lawsuit roared at Ms. Lyernot, who testified in France: "So many good people have died, all because you can't let go of your prejudices and can't accommodate different thoughts!
Lyernot's reaction was as cold as ice, and Nick was furious in front of the TV.
"If your opponent is greedy, then your enemies are only those who harm others because of greed, and if your opponent is a cult, then your enemies will contain victims. Thoshabai said, "This is what my master said. γ
"Did your master also fight this lawsuit?" asked Xi Ke.
Thoshabai nodded, "'Hundred Eyes' Zoroke." γ
"I have a lot of respect for him. Nick remembered. The man's performance was as impressive as that of Ms. Lyernott, and he slapped the fellows in the face of the spirit.
The court ruled that the Order's actions were correct and that they were not responsible for the Night Order's losses.
Despite the Order's victory, it was not possible to prohibit the missionary activities of the remnants of the Order of the Night, some of whom had not yet risen to the rank of criminal activity. As a result, although large-scale massacres no longer occurred, there were several sporadic incidents of torture.
"Can't you just ban them?" asked Xi Ke excitedly.
"No, I can't. He didn't have to take time to think about the answer.
"For what?" said the name of a party that had been ethnically cleansed, killing six million people in ten years, "βisn't it banned in its country of origin?
"That's a political party, and they have a racist problem. The Order of the Night is a religion, and they kill people without distinction of race or religion. γ
"Isn't there a religious difference?" asked Rick in a loud voice. Killing "people who don't believe in the cult of the Night King" is not a religious distinction? Must you kill "someone who believes in such and such a religion" to be considered a religious distinction?
Thotha raised his hand to tell Rick to calm down, "The Night Order is not racist or religious. On the contrary, freedom of religion is protected by international human rights conventions. γ
"I think the reason why we couldn't do that was because when the massacre was banned, 'human rights' weren't as rampant as they are now. Rick said angrily.
"Calm down. Thothaber said lightly, shoved a plate of ham into Rick's hand, and said, "Eat, you'll feel better after eating." γ
As much as possible to keep his anger in the way of digestion, he chewed carefully.
Thoshabai changed the subject, "I have some Soni data here that is not included in the manual, do you want to see it?" He pushed the information in front of Syk without waiting for Nick to answer. Then he let Xike look at the data and went to work on something else.
The manual is mainly for the study of the plan, and these are the research materials on the Soni language in addition to the spell part.
Rick was just flipping through it until he came across a poem.
"Moonlight Shines on ......" When he saw that poem before, it was included in a prayer in Soni, and he somehow liked it at that time. Today, he finally knew the origin of this poem. This was originally an ancient poem by Aethero, which was translated into Soni and falsely claimed to be a product of another ancient civilization and taught to the students of the Dark Academy.
The teacher told them that the poem was expressing the horror of the world outside the Night Order that "failed to do the great good of the Night King", and the author vowed to spread the beauty of the Night King to the whole world. Xi Ke felt that it was wrong at the time, this was like a poem that faced the entire world alone and had nothing to do with the Night King. It turned out that Rick was right.
The Order of the Night tells the students that the Soni language is the product of a lost ancient civilization, and that the Night Kings are the ancient gods that that civilization worshipped. And this data tells Rick: "There is no evidence that that ancient civilization really existed. γ
Everything they had seen in the Order, that the Night King had given to that ancient civilization, had been fabricated in modern times, or had been stolen from other cultures.
What a lie. Vick, though he had never believed in the Night Order, was surprised that they had faked it in such a fundamental place. He didn't understand, in his opinion, in order to create an organization like the Night Order, there should be no need to fake to this extent. But this data shows that the Night Order is doing its best to falsify everything that the student union knows.
They don't interpret history from a specific angle, they don't embellish history, they fabricate history from beginning to end. The history they pass on to people has nothing to do with reality.
Nick was still looking through the information, when someone pushed the door in, and he looked up and saw that it was Seren.
