Chapter 50: Robe Ze, Brothers (1)
At dawn the next day, when it was overcast, the camp was filled with smoke from the previous night's campfire, mixed with the morning fog, making it impossible to see anything.
The Coalition soldiers, both human and Noldor elves who had been crazy all night, were still asleep, disheveled, lying around the fire and by the barrels, and luckily able to climb back into the tent on their own, or find a straw pile to survive the night, and the unfortunate ones even had to spend the night in the stable.
However, Aaron woke up early for some reason, and walked quickly in the camp with great difficulty. The face was gloomy, and it was obvious that nothing good had happened.
After groping for about five or six minutes, Aaron stopped in front of a tent with a Roman golden laurel flag, dismissed the guards outside, and strode inside.
"Theodore, you guy, get me up quickly!" he snapped, still in an impatient mood.
Theodore, who had also drunk a lot last night, was sleeping soundly when he was woken up by such a loud scream, and sat up from the bed violently, and shouted with great impatience: "Please, for the sake of the gods in the heavens, let me sleep a little longer?
The dizziness and headache caused by the hangover made Theodore turn his head groggily and hold his head to look at the person standing in front of him: "Aaron, what are you doing so early?"
"Something happened. The annoyed Knight of Brenus rolled his eyes, pointed with his right hand outside the tent and said, "Salald is gone, I just found out." And many of the Salion knights who came with him are gone!"
"The tents and baggage are still there, I have also visited their campsite, the quilt is not completely cold, obviously it has only been long away, and there is a group of war horses missing from the stable. β
"You want to say...... The guy was angry, so he went back to Salion in a fit of rage? Impossible!" Theodore said with some amusement, with confidence in his tone: "Although he has a good face, it doesn't mean that he is stupid! β
"So, if he hadn't returned to Salion, where would he go?" Aaron glared, "Do you need a more obvious reminder from me?" or is your brain already full of wine?"
"What do you want to say?" Diodore raised an eyebrow in confusion, but he soon realized that there was a possibility, and his face became more and more solemn. Looking up at Aaron, he got a nod in the affirmative.
"Valensβ!" Deodore shouted outside, and soon the stiff-faced captain of the guard rushed into the tent and stood upright in front of Theodore's bed.
"Command, Caesar!" said the loyal captain of the guard, giving Theodore a military salute.
"Immediately let the Imperial Guard assemble, and all the soldiers of the 1st Eagle Banner Wing, except for the sappers of the 3rd Auxiliary Wing, wake up all the Wing Captains and tell them to try to count as many people as possible, bring as many people as they can, gather in thirty minutes, and if it is too late, it will not be used!"
"Follow your orders!" the captain of the guard who had been given the task immediately left the tent and galloped outside.
"Salald Urtok, this reckless and shrewd bastard!" Diodore burst out word by word, and quickly changed into clothes and armor: "I thought I might fall into the enemy's ambush circle!"
"You don't seem to be qualified to speak of him in this regard. Aaron rolled his eyes: "Some people are better than him in not listening to persuasion, and then they hit the luck again and again." β
"No matter what, we're going to save him. Theodore scolded fiercely: "If this guy dares to hang up in advance before I arrive, he will be under the seven layers of hell, and I will also catch him and beat him!"

"All assemble - !! trot forward - !! line up according to their respective queue numbers - !!"
With the commands and whistles of the flag bearers and centurions, groups of Roman legionnaires came out of their tents, dressed up, and hurried towards the meeting place with their brethren.
Theodore rode on his beloved horse, Weber, and waited quietly under the golden laurel flag, the royal guards behind him had already been assembled, waiting for Caesar's order.
Due to the haste of the order, many of the soldiers came out before they even had time to pack up, but they were barely fully armed. Diodore looked in front of him without saying a word, and the hundred-man team trotted from the road between the tents to stand beside him in an orderly manner, moving like small squares.
It was not the first Wing of the Legion, the elite of the Legions, which was doubled and all of its elite veterans guarding the Eagle Banner, but all the lightly armed Roman crossbowmen. Because Wing Commander Ustan Konstantin was an out-and-out prohibitionist, the soldiers did not dare to indulge too much, and they did not sleep deeply.
"Is it fast, Constantine?" said Theodore smiled and looked at Ustan who was standing there with a straight face, "You remind me of your uncle, my commander is a heavy drinker, but he is always the fastest one!"
"I'm sorry Caesar, I've never been a fan of this kind of thing. Ustan twitched his throat: "Report to you, the crossbowmen squadron of the 2nd Auxiliary Wing has been assembled, please review!"
"Very good. Theodore shrugged, he was lucky that his generals were so trustworthy. Soon, the soldiers of the other wings also arrived at the meeting place unhurriedly, lined up in a neat phalanx, and waited for Theodor to give the order to set off.
"How are there any?" Aaron, who had arrived on horseback, asked hurriedly before he could get to the side, followed only by a few knights.
"Eight hundred infantry, one hundred cavalry, and one hundred and sixty crossbowmen, there's no time to wait, let's go at once!" Theodore turned his horse's head and glanced behind Aaron: "What about your knights and soldiers?"
As if he had mentioned something that must not be said, Aaron's face turned blue and white, and Theodore could hear him grinding his teeth from afar, as if black smoke was rising from his head.
"I swear, I swear to the Radiant Cross and all the gods and spirits!" Aaron's eyes kept rolling, and his voice was low as if he was roaring: "When I go back, I must let these guys understand what discipline is, and if they dare to get drunk like this, they will all be driven to the ice field one by one to pull wild vegetables!"
"Only a dozen of them are still sober. Aaron sighed, "The rest slept as heavy as dead pigs!"
"Well, a few counts as a few. Theodore shrugged helplessly: "It's better than nothing!"
"I have informed Marshal Terenus that he is gathering the remaining cavalry troops, and if nothing else, we will have cavalry support as long as we hold out for a while. Aaron said to Theodore, "The rest of the army will arrive at noon, if there are no contingencies." β
"There's finally good news. Theodore nodded: "But now I prefer that guy has returned victorious, so that it won't be so troublesome." β
"Wait!"
A delicate but decisive voice came from behind him, causing Theodore and Aaron to turn around at the same timeβit was Sibea, and a group of Noldor rangers who had followed.
What Theodore didn't notice was that Ustan behind him blinked unconsciously as wellβhe saw the very familiar figure following behind a group of cloaked rangers.
"Weishenme, no one informed us, this is the war of the Noldos!" Sibeia angrily walked up and asked Theodore, who was on the horse, "It is our compatriots who are going to be saved, and the Noldos should join the war!"
"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you, but we were in a hurry. Theodore suddenly felt his head grow for a while, and responded casually: "So, how many people have you brought?"
"More than 200 rangers, no one can stop us from rescuing our own people. Sibeya craned her neck and her eyes stood up: "What's more, we are the only ones who know the specific location of that camp." β
"You've got another piece of good news for us!" said Theodore, curling the corners of his mouth, "Luck may have it, that bastard might still be wandering around in the forest somewhere!"
Soon, all the fighters who had been urgently ordered to assemble were all gathered together and stood in a line on the small playground, without saying much, for they all knew very well what their task was.
Theodore rode Webb and stood at the front of the queue with Aaron, followed by Valence, the captain of the imperial guard who held the flag, and the middle-aged knight who held the black falcon flag.
"Soldiers, there's not much time to encourage you, but for a true warrior, a few numbers are worth a thousand words!"
Theodore's voice was not loud, but it was audible and clear to all.
Theodore swept calmly across the soldiers' faces, this was probably the first time he had spoken in such a gentle tone, and probably the first time Zuihou had done so.
"Suffice it to say to you, our brothers, that your robes are now besieged and isolated by the enemy, and that our allies, the war-torn Noldor elves, are groaning in pain under the whips and clubs of the savage orcs. And we, the hope of their zuihou, who can watch them suffer? No, no one. β
"Soldiers. Theodore drew his sword: "Let's go and bring our brothers back!"
"Coalition Forces---, Departure-!!!!"
