Section 28 Planning
"Young prince, it's a pity that you don't have a bigger future. The Dark Elf Lord let out a giggling laugh. Things were better than he expected, and Prince Ashrufat was now holding a giant sword in his hand - the original spear had undoubtedly been lost in the charge just now. The spear must have been stabbed on the body of some dark elf (or some cold beast) and failed to pull it out. Novices often make the mistake of pointing their spears in the center of the enemy's body, not knowing that this behavior makes it impossible to draw the spear after stabbing the enemy and has to give up. Instead of stabbing the enemy in the center of the body with a spear, the true skill of killing should be like him, but using the speed of the cavalry to "glide and cut" through the armor and flesh of the enemy, especially the neck, with the blade of the spear. In such a charge, it is usually possible to attack two or more enemies in succession.
The use of a sword and a spear while riding a horse are two concepts. Hand-to-hand dogfights naturally have the advantage of the sword, but if the two sides charge face to face, it means that Prince Ashrufat must dodge the attack of his spear before he can fight back. But Karuf didn't think the other side would be able to dodge his spear. He had spent centuries honing his spear skills and had countless experiences in actual combat.
The prince rushed over, and Karouf met him head-on. This time, for safety, his spear was pointed at the prince's chest. If the prince tried to dodge the blow, it would mean that he lost the opportunity to fight back with his sword because of the twisting of his body. But in fact it was not that complicated, and he clearly saw that his spear was piercing the prince's chest from the front.
The only problem was that there was no stabbing sensation coming from the spear. Karoff pondered this incredible phenomenon with some confusion, by the way, there seemed to be a flash of silver light just now? This was the last thought he had in this world.
Elven warhorses and cold beasts staggered by. I watched as the prince slashed the dark elf officer with a single sword—the sword slashed through the center of Duruzey's head, slicing through the helmet and splitting his head in half. All the Knights in the Silver Helmets couldn't help but cheer. On the contrary, the cold beast cavalry were all stunned on the spot, and by the time they came back to their senses, the knights of the Silver Helmet had already launched a second attack.
The Chill Beast Cavalry resisted for a while. But they lost their commander-in-chief, their morale plummeted, and they soon fell behind in battle. After a bloody battle, the fighting spirit of the cold beast cavalry finally collapsed and fled in all directions.
Ashrufat gathered his troops in time. The elven army has a high level of training and is very obedient to orders. After making sure that the Chill Beast cavalry had all broken up and that it was no longer a problem, he left the remaining Chillbeast cavalry to ignore them, allowing them to flee and turn in pursuit of the Dark Elves' infantry.
In fact, it didn't take much time, and they quickly caught up with the enemy. The Dark Elves had realized that something was wrong, and they lined up to fight the cavalry, but the Knights of the Silver Helmet did not come close. They were only delaying the enemy—they could not march in formation, and if they did, they were in danger of being attacked by cavalry. If one of them had a general, he might be able to keep a detachment behind to hold off the enemy and cover the retreat of the main force. But now they do not have a commander, and in this case, the operation of sacrificing a detachment to protect the retreat of the main forces cannot be achieved.
This delaying tactic worked, and the dark elves could neither fight nor escape, and eventually the elven infantry caught up. The battle soon began, with the Marines attacking the front and the Knights of the Silver Helmets attacking the flanks and the rear in separate directions. Although there was no suspense in this battle, the dark elves still resisted to the bottom with the most bitter hatred. The real trouble lies with the two hydras. Fortunately, after shooting the Beast Tamer, the hydra lost its ability to fight effectively. A beast is a beast after all, and no matter how powerful it is, it is just a beast without intelligence. Several Silverhelm Knights used their speed to lure the hydra away, leaving them out of the fray and not doing much for the Dark Elves.
Even so, the battle didn't end until the last of the Dark Elves died under the spears of the Marines.
......
I was impressed by the first time I commanded the elves in battle.
In appearance, elves are actually quite close to humans. Although my face and my stature were very different from those of ordinary elves, none of them seemed to doubt my race, which led me to believe that not every elf was that beautiful, elegant, slender creature, and there must be some exceptions. It's easy to understand that humans are tall, short, beautiful and ugly, and elves must be the same, although I haven't actually seen ugly elves.
Although similar in appearance, in terms of spirit, elves and humans are very different. I now believe in Cosbodi's claim that elves are elusive creatures, and that although they may seem rational and elegant, they are fundamentally different from humans.
In fact, whether it is a dark elf or a martial elf, there is a chilling coldness and cruelty hidden in their bones. This is true for others and for oneself. Although they usually look beautiful and elegant, on the battlefield, the true nature of the elves is exposed. The Warrior Elves always say that the Dark Elves are evil and ruthless, but if a Dark Elf falls into their hands, their method of dealing with it is always very simple and crisp - in fact, the Dark Elves who are captured alive have no chance of surviving. And the Warrior Elves fell into the hands of the Dark Elves—and when my men and I happened to talk about this possibility, the look of hatred and fear on their faces really made a human feel creepy.
However, the elves have the courage to fight, because the hatred and anger in their hearts far outweigh their fear. Their iron-like discipline on the battlefield, born of a ruthless nature, is enough to intimidate the most elite troops of humanity. They were the best marksmen I could imagine, and the phalanx of spears was an impenetrable barrier to death. And they hardly waver in the slightest from the death of their comrades. Their fear of surrender and capture is greater than their fear of dying in battle. I believe that in times of crisis, without any additional incentives, it is entirely possible for an elven army to die without retreating. This is extremely difficult for the average human soldier to do.
In any case, the army of the Divine Warrior Elves is a true elite division. On the one hand, they are able to obey the command very well, and on the other hand, their middle- and lower-ranking officers have a very high degree of initiative and are able to face any sudden accident and give full play to the highest combat power of the army. If there is a flaw in the elven army, it is the natural flaw of their clan - the elves are not strong enough in body, and they are slightly inferior to humans in terms of strength. However, these two shortcomings have actually been compensated, and the Shenwu Elves make up for the lack of physical strength with excellent armor, and rely on the superb combat skills of strict training to make up for the regrets of arm strength.
Elves have long been rumored to be superior to magic, but now I've confirmed it. Their magical teaching seemed to be very common, and Carrie told me that elves were better suited to learning magic than humans. This may explain why there are so many magicians in the field. In the city of Eribo alone, there are six magicians who belong directly to the prince, that is, me, and all of them have quite good spell-casting skills. So much so that I can use it extravagantly: two magicians stay in the city, and four magicians follow me to attack. However, in the eyes of the elves, five of them are not really real mages. Genuine mages are called "Great/Mage", and they must be trained somewhere to be titled.
According to my subordinates, the Great/Mage is incredibly powerful and even has spellcasting skills that are not affected by the wind of magic. Whether the winds of magic are calm or furious, they have no effect on their spell casting - in other words, they have any magic available at any time, anywhere. However, I didn't ask my Archmage for details, lest I appear ignorant. Carrie told me that I could do it if I was willing to go through her rigorous training and spend a hundred years or so.
However, there seems to be a tradition among elven mages that they are not inclined to use magic to strike their enemies directly - the opposite of human mages. Human mages always use magic to directly hit enemy soldiers whenever possible, while elven mages prefer to use magic to weaken enemies and strengthen allies (of course, this is just a tendency, and elven mages will not hesitate to use offensive spells when needed).
Of course, it is impossible to say which of these two methods is superior or inferior for a while, but it can only be said that each has its own merits.
—Ashrufat
Ashrufat put down his pen and put his diary in a personal package. The battle for Erebo is over, the main force of the Dark Elves has been wiped out, and some of the cold beast knights who have escaped have been wiped out in the ensuing search operation. Even the hydra that had lost the control of the animal tamer was hunted down under careful planning.
Although the dark elves fought almost to the end, because of their large numbers, they finally captured a few captives. Eshuruphat gave the task of disposing of the captives to Swiftwind, who soon received the most urgent information - as many of Eshurufat's men feared, the Dark Elves had indeed arrived at Iribo through the portal. An ancient portal under the control of the Dark Elf Witch King, with the ability to instantly transfer an army to any corner of Ulthuan. Fortunately, the dark elves are not yet able to use this ability freely - they cannot precisely control the destination of the teleportation, they can only teleport randomly, and the maintenance time is limited, they can only teleport a thousand people at a time, and at the same time, to use this ability, it will take about a month or so of careful preparation.
Everything that happened here in Ereber was told to the Phoenix King on the front line by the magicians as quickly as possible. The crisis situation is over, and now the question is what the Phoenix King of the Dao will do with this "Prince Ai Xiurufat" who came out of nowhere. But from normal logic, the Phoenix King should first confirm the identity of Aerufat, and if it is confirmed that he is really a prince, then simply hand over the ownerless Iribo to him.
The problem was that Ashruphat himself was well aware of his situation, and he was not an elven prince - not even an elf at all. The Phoenix King only needs a little confirmation to find his loopholes. Besides, Ashrufat's real goal was not to be a prince in such an elven city.
"Master, what are you thinking about?" asked Carrie in a whispered mind.
"Sure enough, if I do what I want, I must retain my identity as a 'prince'. Ashrufat replied in his mind.
"What do you want to do?"
"Carrie, the Divine Elves have deployed a large army on the front line of the portal, and the two sides are deadlocked...... The Warrior Elves have a numerical advantage, and the Dark Elves control the favorable terrain. In this case, it is unlikely that they will be able to break the deadlock and defeat the Dark Elves in one fell swoop, forcing them to abandon the portal. The only way to force the Dark Elves to abandon the portal is to adopt another strategy...... My plan is to lead a force of Divine Warrior Elves to counterattack the land of the Dark Elves by sea. If it can pose a huge threat to their rear, then the dark elves can only abandon the portal and retreat back to the country. ”
"Good way...... But with your current strength......"
"Well, you can't do it with Ereber. Carrie, I've decided, go find the Emerald Queen!"
