Shenxiu's point of view is: the body is a Bodhi tree, the heart is like a mirror platform, always wipe diligently, do not make dust.

And Huineng's point of view is: Bodhi is not a tree, the mirror is not a platform, there is nothing originally, where is the dust?

It seems that the views of the two are like talking nonsense and talking nonsense, but they represent two different points of view.

Shenxiu believes that cultivating Buddhism needs to be very serious, requires certain methods, requires certain conditions, and requires a certain process, emphasizing gradual enlightenment.

Huineng believes that as long as the heart is enlightened, it is a Buddha, one emphasizes gradual enlightenment, and the other emphasizes epiphany. The former emphasizes the process of learning, while the latter emphasizes the change of the mind, the sublimation of the soul.

This little story, Hui Ke and Shang have already seen it in a large library, and he also has a lot of emotion.

In his opinion, both of them have made sense, but they are just different processes of cultivating Buddhism. It can't be said that Shenxiu is wrong, and it can't be said that Huineng is all right.

But it must be admitted that Huineng's statement is more suitable for today's Buddhism, and more suitable for the new Zen Buddhism after the transformation under the Qin Law. And historically, it was after Huineng that Zen Buddhism began to flourish.

However, it is also an undeniable fact that after the great revival of Zen Buddhism, the average quality of Zen monks also declined.

And when the third cannon sounds, the chanting begins. From today onwards, Zen Buddhism is no longer reciting the complicated scriptures, but the latest version of the Qin Dharma. ”

"We have to compile the simplest Buddhist scriptures that ordinary people can recite according to the Qin Law and our actual situation, and the number of words does not need to be many, and the language should be simple. It's a good idea to make up a few short stories and incorporate ideas from the sutras into them. ”

"Yes, as long as the core of our Buddhism remains the same, nothing else is a problem, but what is the core of our Buddhism? Different people have different opinions, and in the eyes of the old monk himself, it is goodness and Buddha. ”

"Kindness is to lead people to goodness, and our philosophy is good and positive after all. Buddha is to become a Buddha, everyone has the opportunity to become a Buddha as long as they are enlightened in their hearts, the Buddha is not in the spiritual mountain, in the heart, just around us, everyone has the opportunity to become a Buddha. ”

"In the case of abiding by the Qin law, as long as we grasp these two points, our Buddhism can be passed on forever, and the rest of the rules and precepts are all external. ”

After looking forward to the future, Hui Ke finally asked about the result of Tan Zong's trip: "What did Your Majesty say?"

"Your Majesty's mind is far broader than we think," he said......"

Then Tanzong finished Yingzheng's words word for word, and even imitated the reactions of everyone at that time vividly, and it didn't take long for Hui Ke to nod again and again, constantly chanting Amitabha.

"It is worthy of Your Majesty, Zhengda is bright and upright, but if you are worthy of your heart, only Your Majesty has such a mind. ”

"Tan Zong, your Golden Bell Jar has been cultivated to the eleventh layer, and you are a real great grandmaster, and you are not weak at all compared to the so-called three great grandmasters. ”

"From now on, all the five hundred stick monks of Shaolin will leave with you, join the empire with you, fight for the empire, and the future of the young man will be handed over to you. ”
